Guys, legit the most difficult part of this is the timing it out part! Took me seven tries to get it right! Let me know if any of you try this. I wanna see your videos! 🤣
We had to do like 4 or 5 tries in our latest episode about the Aviation cocktail ✈ You can see the director helping out with the timing and the shadows by playing out the "other" role. Wait for the bloopers at the end ;) Fun fact, he's a proud owner of a 'be a good human' shirt 😎 Also, we did a clone effect in the Gibson episode. Which one do you like more? Would love to know what you think!
Hey David, great video btw. I make piano videos, and I have this idea of playing with 4 hands, so basically cloning my hands. However, they will absolutely overlap, and even though you said it's much harder to do , I really want to make it work. Can you suggest any video that explains it? Thanks in advance.
Thank you for this video David. Out of all the cloning tutorials I've seen, yours was very detailed, to the point, and easy to follow in just a show time frame.
Your channel is the reason I started filming and getting a passion to learn and film and because of my computer only been able to edit my videos on windows movie maker! Can’t wait for my built pc to come in the mail to actually be able to use good software! Love the video helps out so much!
Thank you for this! I'm shooting a music video soon that's gonna require this kind of editing and this broke it down in such an understandable and simple way, you are a saint my dude!
thanks man , i appreciate this ... i play like ten instruments...like a one man lofi band and i wanted to use this effect David! subbed my brother. i hope you and your family are doing wonderful! love from atlanta brother. all the best!!
This channel is soooo good. And funny too. Love the personality. Bit embarrassing but I used to do this effect by roto brushing frame by frame for sometimes a whole day. One day I had euphoria to mask. I felt like such an idiot. But the feeling of innovation and creativity (though not really) was well worth it and I regret nothing. If only I saw this video earlier...😂
Hey how are you? Just I would know if it is good to rec the video using a smartphone fixed on a tripod, cz I don't have a camera (does it affect the exposure...) Thanks❤
I don’t think this was the video I watched before I took on my last project but I just wanna share I just did this with multiple shots that didn’t match!! Thought it was impossible but I was able to merge the clips by making a matte on a clean edge like a door frame or the edge of a dresser, then slid in the 2nd shot behind it. Did a little resizing so they match and boom 💥 Mostly done in AE and used Premiere to clean it up if anything popped. Variable Feathering helped! Also added a little motion tracker if the camera drifted. Worked out very nicely! ❤🙏🏿💯
This was so cool and really simple! Thank you so much David. Although I wished I had watched this prior to shooting my shots because I realized that my shots probably won't work because I shot it outside so clouds and sun and background changes. Oh well. I'll see what I can get it to do. Thanks!
Thank you so much for this great work, please I want to ask if there is more ideas you can recommend for input and improvements on the lighting system or to huge each other If possible
Nice video as always man, although I still don't understand why the pro photographers like you use premier... I swear that a lot of things are way easier in vegas pro, could you please explain why premiere is the first choice of video editing program for pro photographers? I want to know why am I outdated.
Honestly, the main reason is that it’s been around so long and been at a relatively high level of quality for so long. I first used it 17 years ago and while I’ve tried other programs along the way, every time one of those programs failed me, I found myself making my way back to Premiere. I think a lot of people are that way. Something else looks compelling, they go try it for awhile, but where it fails them, they come back to Premiere. I for sure don’t think it’s the best platform currently, but it’s pretty damn good👍
@@DavidManningvlog thank you for your answer... makes sense.. didn't know it has been out for so long I imagine that vegas pro has almost the same time but yeah I have heard and base on my user experience (amateur obviously 🤣🤣) it has been improved in the last couple of years
HOW do I do this in Davinci Resolve? please help! Couple of years ago I found this video and I loved it. But now that Im over Davinci I just cant do the same. Id like to animate the mask while the object is moving having the second layer video as well on the screen
I know, I’ve gotta dig in and see what I can work out. So he’s learning a new program, but even harder to learn it with the intent of teaching! I’ll work on it though 👍
David Manning That would be awesome man, thank you, love the videos and keep up the good work man, every time i see one of your vids, the lighting, the editing and all I get inspired to keep improving on my vids haha thank you good sir!
Good video man, do you know anything about Davinci resolve ? Would be cool to see a paid software ( premiere pro ) vs a Free software ( Davinci resolve)
I need to do some digging into it. There’s been a ton of interest, I just don’t know a ton yet. For sure not enough yet to speak on the topic. I’ll check it out though!👊
Hahahaa! This was actually maddeningly tough to time out! The stuff in Premiere is the EASY part! And I’m more interested you see what an evil Hawke would say!🤣
Where can I find some guidance on rack focusing from one person to another, in a masked clone shot, in which I am playing both persons, using a common background which will be masked? Have you understood what I'm trying to describe?
I just click on a New video... No matter what, first second = 1 like! David! Awesome channel! Today vid, also AWESOME! Keep creating. I hope one day you'll show more videos from your shoots and step by step tutorials.😉 Greetings from Poland.
First off, THANK YOU for the like! I can’t explain how much I appreciate that! Secondly, love your ideas and working on getting someone to help film so I can do photo shoot tutorials👍 Greeting TO Poland👊
David, this is spooky, how you do tutorials of stuff we do in our episodes 🤯😅 check out our Gibson episode and see how we pulled it off: th-cam.com/video/ehOl9ruc46U/w-d-xo.html And the episode this Thursday will be another episode featuring a clone 😎 What will be your next tutorial? I have been trying for the past 3 hours and still haven't timed correctly
2:31 tutorial begins
I love to see tips on special effects. This is how we can really expand our video editing chops. Thanks for the tip.
Totally! You can either do really impressive things, or just silly little bits🤣
