BIG BRAKES for CHEAP - R32 SKYLINE GTR / GTST

- I am 100% guilty of this as I'm sure almost all of you watching this video are. Engine mods almost ALWAYS come before handling mods. It's just more fun to make a faster louder car than a car that has the "protentional" to handle better. However in reality, the smartest and safest thing to do is to upgrade the components that help the car STOP and efficiently shift its weight. If you can almost double your vehicles horsepower, then you should definitely have doubled the vehicles limit for handling and braking. I don't mean to be preachy, but my car was essentially a shit box before this mod. I define that as, a car that handles / brakes poorly with high power. Better tires, tighter suspension and BIGGER BRAKES. No longer a shit box, this car now feels SOLID. I believe this can be done with ease to any vehicle for cheap! Hope this video finds those looking to upgrade their Skylines lack luster braking system for CHEAP CHEAP!

From a modded Fallout 3 series when I was 10 years old, to watching car vlogging videos at 21. Cool to see you still making content man, hope you're doing well NBG my brother
Love your car man, you should do a build breakdown on all the things you’ve done to your car.
love this , keep up the content
Dang. Next time you're doing pulls 5 mins from my house stop by so I can see this thing in person lol.
dm me your address and I'll hit you up sometime!
how does this have 85 views? this is a dope video. nice channel man
thanks 🙏
what kind of camera do you use the quality looks great! great vid!
My iPhone, Thanks!
Hey man I would love to see more of those type of driving videos ?
Once the weather gets nicer I'll start driving more and I'll def post more driving videos!
Did you ever upgrade the rears, too? How has it held up?
What size are the tires? Was this the maxium size you can fit for her?
Wow i know exactly where that road is. Are you still around? Why have i never seen this car on the road before? I live in Albrightsville by Pocono Raceway.
Selling your old stock brakes and rotor?
i found your super old channel do you remember R4peCraft
What gauge pod set up is that in the centre? @Subie Ruble
It's custom made, just a block of aluminum with 3 holes in it for a snug fit for gauges. I then have holes drilled on the outer edges for it to mount.
Lmgt4?😊
Hey what front lip u running?
It's a carbon fiber lip for a R32 GTR that I trimmed and drilled holes to fit the GTST bumper. Turned out ok
Any chance you can post links to these parts? Nice car btw
of course! I'm afraid there isn't enough room in the description however. Which parts are you looking for links for? I'll send them to you right now
@@SubieRumble Just the parts you used for the brake upgrade. I've only had my skyline for a couple months now but the lack of braking power has already given me a couple scares so this is one of the top things on my to do list.
@@swabff Here's a list
brake caliper brackets

brake lines

big rotors

radium brace

@@SubieRumble thank you my man
@@swabff anytime!
Hows the GC?
Good, my brother drives it to college every day, still stock
What front lip is that ??
It's for a GTR front bumper that I made work on my GTST front bumper. Just a carbon fiber nismo front lip for a GTR R32
Cheers mate 👍
i think your turbo was bigger than your original rotors
Haha true, I guess if your turbo is bigger than your rotors you should consider upgrading your rotors
does NObody see how far out that caliper is? AS-IN, the burn-path of the pads wont be close to the hub, but the OUTER EDGE of the rotor... this aint no upgrade bro
increasing distancing from center of hub outwards, will help. Look at it like leverage with a longer wrench compared to a shorter one.
You would be correct in that bite force and surface area between friction points (pad and rotor) aren't changing, so yes, no upgrade. However it's the leverage increase that the brake now has on the rotor that will help with improved braking.
It's a cheaper method than upgrading to larger rotors.
@Subie Rumble naw I look at it like burn-path should take up as much real estate as possible for surface area stopping power vs an outer edge and wasted space inward..
@@kitvexed8229 you aren't wrong. This isn't a comparison. It's literally 'how to UPGRADE brake performance while staying on the cheap side.' Increasing surface area of friction zone will obviously be the best upgrade. But bigger calipers aren't cheap, especially for these cars. So this is the next best thing. Increase distance from center point of rotation will increase leverage the caliper has on the rotor to simulate a bigger brake. It works. Is it better than a bigger caliper? obviously not. There's no argument.
Dyno video ? 😢
Nope, all road tuned. Never been on a dyno before. sorry
@@SubieRumble are you gonna dyno it to see how much power its making ?
@@vishalmaharaj2003 If the opportunity arises, sure! but I'm not gonna pay to see how much it makes, not worth it.
My god. nbgcustoms.
