      @@GTContent "How I got budget Carbon Ceramic brakes." The current title implies that anyone can do this but after watching the video you had used gift cards from your family to pay for the parts. They aren't really free.

      @GTContent  ปีที่แล้ว

      @Stribogboi Thanks. I'll take it into consideration.
      To clarify,
      It wasn't even a few hundred dollars worth of family gift cards. Love my family though.
      I used my own Amazon rewards points which were the majority of it. If I didn't have the rewards points/gift cards, I would have had to pay out of pocket. This is a neat trick to getting them for free. Anyone that qualifies for an amazon card can do it.

    Impressive how faster the brakes made your GTR. 🤓
    Single stopping distance won't change. Fade resistance does.
    Maybe decelerating from 200 mph? Not 1x from 80 or 100mph
    You'll never, ever, ever ever ever change the braking distance from 80-0 (mph) due to carbon-carbon or CCM or bigger brakes, or anything else in that vein. The only category you can improve braking distances is after fade becomes a factor, and that's going to require either repeated stops with minimal time to exhaust the accumulated heat, or, from much higher speeds (like 200 mph). Which, you could also mitigate with larger heatsinks (iron) + duct work ... or, sure, a material that isn't prone to fading due to the heatrange.
    For bigger brakes to stop you faster, you need either grippier tires (which exceed your brakes clamping force to lock up the wheels), more downforce (to increase static friction coefficient) or both. It's not until your brakes cannot lock up your wheels that you need greater braking capacity.
    There may be an argument for better brakes providing better modulation as you approach the limit of adhesion, allowing you to approach said limit with decreased chance of locking the brakes, but, no one is engaging in that conversation ... and ... with modern ABS, it's (again) less of a factor unless rules prohibit them.

    Have to agree with someone else here about the clickbait title. Had these for years on my R35 as well. While you can tell the difference, it's not as dramatic as you've made it here. A 20lb drop in weight would never require any spring or dampening adjustment on any car. The caliper spacers that you didn't install would have taken the caliper and the pads to the correct height on the rotor.

    • @GTContent
      @GTContent  ปีที่แล้ว

      Recommend a better title?
      There is a noticeable difference in the shock dampening compared to stock. On the same roads I've driven with the steel rotors, the bumps tend to be absorbed, whereas the ccb bounce/respond.
      The caliper spacer isn't required. As mentioned in the video, they are only required for the 2009-2011 GTR and there is also a small lip on the 2012+ steel rotors due to the brake pad spacing.

    • @jdmpire
      @jdmpire ปีที่แล้ว

      @@GTContent It’s a placebo effect. 20lbs spread over two shocks is not gonna give you any noticeable difference in ride quality. I had the same rotor setup for years and the only place you really notice the weight difference is in the turning of the front wheels. The caliper spacer isn’t required to bolt it on, yes, but it would put the pad at the right position relative to the rotor.
      As far as the title goes, I think we all know they weren’t free so misleading for views is pretty apparent. If you hadn’t had some sort of credit on your Amazon account, it sounds like these would have never been purchased and this video never made.

    • @GTContent
      @GTContent  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@jdmpire I'm not sure what wheel/tire setup you have. I can feel the road more with the OEM/MPSS setup on the same road.
      Placebo on the acceleration, I can agree with because I have no data and per my butt dyno comment.
      The turning does feel more responsive as I noted in the video also.
      The OEM outer steel disk has a lip on it from the OEM brake pad creating the groove. The ZR1 CC disk is probably 1-2mm larger than the OEM steel disk which is not significant. Using the caliper spacer isn't necessary for 2012+. It may just create clearance problems with certain 18" wheels.
      "We all know" is your opinion. I show you how I got them for free. I'm sure there are some that are appreciative for this method.
      Not sure how to respond to your last paragraph because that is the method I used to get the CCB for free. I understand you paid a lot for them, but for those that haven't, they can save a lot of money. GTR shops will hate me.
      Just wait until I make the 15" rear video. Going to be nearly free also compared to the $2,000+ shops are charging.
      I'm helping th GTR community with a new method and save money. Why would people be upset.
      Not sure why you care about how much views this video will get? If it gets one view, I'm not even upset. I don't depend solely TH-cam financially lol
      You never answered my question on recommending a better title.

    • @trumanhw
      @trumanhw 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@GTContent To be fair, while it's nominal relative to the vehicle weight, it is a pretty large percent change to the unsprung weight (speaking of ride quality / suspension engagement). What I found more spurious is the claim it changed acceleration. That's just comedy. 🤣 Yes, the rolling inertia is reduced, but that [is] a Fn that includes the entire vehicle's weight, and it's just ludicrous to claim a noticeable difference.
      In fact, you'll also never, ever, ever ever ever change the braking distance from 80-0 (mph) due to carbon-carbon or CCM or bigger brakes, or anything else in that vein.
