Murray is one of the best dubs players of all time. An absolute animal at the net and positive energy like you wouldn’t believe he’s related to Andy 😂. Incredible talent from that family.
Oddly enough I've never seen a match between a top 10 pro sing/dbls vs a good social/club player before. The complete ease Jamie was playing at was incredible. Thank you very much for this video.
Holy , Josh is playing really good. Pro kick serves don't even seem to bother him. Cracking forehands. how does he not double fault with that form though? Guess 6'6 helps but he's playing lights out imo
To be fair, it seems like he actually was only a 7 UTR in 2022, which is pretty average. His strokes definitely look better, but we never see him grinding - he's just trying to win points, not matches.

I think he genuinely put some effort in that, definitely didn’t go 100% but Josh should give himself more credit. If he was quicker on his feet it’d be a close match at 100%
A lot of top club players could have been pros but other things might have got in the way (big salary offers later at University) and I feel Josh is one of those.
Cool video! It´s mind boggling how many club players really think they can stand a chance against a pro. Josh has already a very good Level but Pro´s are just too good. Precision, power, consistency. Murray isn´t really trying.
I'd quite like to see Josh given a coach and try to play some tournaments. Thomas Muster could come back in his 40s, Josh can still do it. I think he'd be a fan favourite.
Aaaaaaaa...Josh should've just impersonated sleepy Andy Murray and won by tenaciously hammering away, boring Jamie to death. Josh's a good player, great power to dominate points.
Just for the record when 18 yr old Andy Murray was starting out in the pros, he played a competitive exhibition tourney and drew John Mac in the first round. Mac blew him off the court in the one set match in 18 min.
To even make a couple of points against mr. Murray would lift him way above the status of average club player.. Not quite the understatement, but almost like "schoolboy" in armwrestling😂

There’s nothing wrong with it. Today we see pretty much the same forehand (western or semi western) with massive spin. There used to be variety of grips and the eastern forehand grip was used quite a bit. With wood raqs and early graphite on fast surfaces, the eastern forehand grip allowed players to get low when a good deal of the tour (at least the slams) were played on fast grass or on indoor carpet which some players would say was faster than grass. Plus the eastern grip allowed players to effectively attack the net and didn’t have to make a drastic grip change to hit a volley (continental or slightly eastern). Murray specialized in doubles (fantastic volley s) and his eastern grip helped. I love watching him play because he uses his opponents pace and almost “volleys” back the ball on his ground strokes. He’s a throwback player but there’s players still playing the grip but don’t have Murray’s feel and touch to move the ball around the court

@@Tennishead "Rule 18: Footfault During the server motion, the server shall not: a)change position by walking or running, although slight movements of the feet are permitted, ...."
@@kgill99 I would think walking implies multiple steps. IE, if someone does a single lung to the side, you're not going to say they're walking. Regardless, the rule seems somewhat ambiguous (when is a slight movement no longer slight?), and he played on tour, so it must have been deemed to be legal. It seems more like it's intended to prevent a volleyball style serve where players sometimes take multiple steps before jumping into their serving action. In fact Brian Battistone plays on the ATP tour and does use a volleyball style jump serve, but he only takes a single step as well. So a single step is probably okay, multiple steps would probably not be. All that said, the rule could probably be written more clearly.

Josh can destroy any club player with such a level.
I am here waiting impatiently for the day when Josh will play a full match. As Jamie said, there is a player in there!
