He's a hero to all the Sots who have left Scotland(and there are MANY). The opportunities to pursue any sort of achievements without money and "connections" just did not exist and it really did not appear that there ever would. The Murray family have given Scotland and their people hope. My father played tennis with my mom and sister at Clydebank tennis club which was shut down to build the Erskine bridge on top of its grounds. I love this! Even on court I think you get a sense of Andy’s thoughtfulness and kindness. Look at the way he has been with Dan Evans, practically falling over himself to give Dan credit for their wins, when he could have grabbed all the credit for himself. I’ll miss Andy enormously. I remember first watching him on TV playing Queen’s in 2005. There and then you just knew he was going to be awesome. He’s lived up to that and so much more.
This was wonderful. Jamie's words about Andy genuinely made me well up. What Andy means to Scotland cannot be emphasised enough in words - he's the greatest sportsman our small nation has very produced.
