- In this video we show you how to paint an old stained and cracked concrete patio and bring it back to life with a concrete painter called deckover. We painted this concrete over a year ago in a previous video and have now come back for a little repaint maintenance job. This stuff works great for covering any cracked or stained concrete and comes in a variety of colors to paint your concrete patio to the color you desire. A nice earthy colour. Looks like the homeowner is taking good care of his concrete too.
Yes he has a electric pressure washer he uses occasionally.
I used this 2 years ago on our concrete patio areas and it still looks very good. Maybe better on concrete than it is on decks. No peeling either. We live in CA but the areas where we used it get PM shade. Be sure to wet the concrete before you paint it on with a roller. Get the right sponge roller.
I did a 320 sf deck with Deck-Over 3 years ego and still looks like composite material..., really great stuff. You can take my word for it.
does it stay cool on a pool deck? can you use it over kool deck?

Wow, I always use deckover on deck, it really held up well wherever you are.

I guess if it holds up on old decks, it will really anchor it self into pourous concrete. I use this stuff all through NY down to DC it does well on wood. Wonder if the ice and salt will break it down. I'll have to pick a spot and test it.

Do a sampler and see how it holds up through the winter.
Thank you for sharing, Dave...I need to clean a stamped patio and reseal in the Spring, and this showed me the process of how to clean/prep before. Would you recommend DeckOver for the concrete around an inground pool? I also need to clean/prep and do some minor repairs to that concrete before reapplying anything. I sure wish you lived closer to Kentucky, since I'd let you do it! :o)

I wondered how this did on cement I've seen it to many times on wood, and it always peels after a few years, ill give it a try next spring on my front and back patio
so far so good one year later no signs of failure.
It seems to do much better on concrete than wood.
I’m doing a project using behr stain paint. After I apply the base color and it is dry completely, can I apply the seal right after? Or do I have to wait the next day to seal?

Hello I have a question we had our concrete patio painted last year and the paint is chipping
Off since they didn’t add a sealer to it. Should we use the degreaser to clean it before the paint and how about a sealer after
degreaser is a good idea. sealer is optional.

Yes its good for interiors, but you wouldn't want the texture in it.
Use Qiuckcrete high performance mortar repair and concrete glue.
Odell Complete Concrete Thanks! We have a couple big dogs, which is why I was thinking the texture might be ok for traction, but wasn't sure. And can you put tile over it later also without stripping it?

is there a way to break in a steel pool trowel other than just time cuz as you know its tougher to smoith out flat work with a brand new trowel

Multi colors. Like the border could be a different color. You get real creative and put some custom designed stencils in the middle.

Good job, but what about putting some pieces of cardboard on the wall before doing the job???( I am talking about the first time, mainly, when you painted the patio- one can see the splatters on the wall). I noticed that on your second video of this house, too. It loos to me it would be a more professional job. Just saying...
