    You buy good an efficient equipment. A higher psi rated pressure washer is great paired with high gallons per minute is how fast you can cover an area. The only downfall is if the water supply cannot keep up with the demand (then you need a water tank and a pump)
    Thanks for the instructions.

    Turned out nice! I'm with you- so sick of seeing that darker grey or cola stain everywhere; this lighter color is much more attractive. Building my own house on slab in 2 years and will be using light colors. I had a concrete business in the 1980's in Madison Wisconsin. I was the only contractor doing stamped and colored concrete. My ex-wife ruined it for me- don't let that happen to you.

    Lovely work my friend! Thank you for sharing your knowledge and expertise with the general public,I will be using it on my current build project I have going on. Question,part of my project is a shop for working on my old cars,is there any concrete paint/sealer that could stand up to a floor jack rolling around with a car on it without peeling up and chipping under the weight of it’s steel wheels? I have seen this happen in mechanics shops in the past.

      Stained concrete wouldn’t be a great idea for your situation. It sounds like you need something more like urethane cement or epoxy + polyaspartic.

    Great Job once again! Thank you for your attention to detail as a contractor and as an artist in what you do. Even your TH-cam content and the attention you pay to details on your content and the organization. Like'r and subscriber
    PART 2: I bought a house with an outdoor inground pool (Midwest- 4 weather seasons) The pool is surrounded by a 3' basic concrete apron, and then a stamped concrete patio along a part of the apron. ISSUES: the 3' apron has shifted/sank/lifted in multiple places, and the stamped patio had been painted a brick red at some point. I want to fix all of this, and enjoy learning and doing my own work. Do you have any suggestions for how to address these issues to give the apron and stamped patio a chance at new life, without busting everything out? Grinding & overlay..... chemical etch & staining with some patched concrete resurfacing work on the apron...? Looking for some ideas/advice from you or anyone willing to comment. Thanks all!

      Hey Anthony. Thanks for the encouragement. I really appreciate it.
      Unfortunately I think your best bet is to tear out the concrete and replace it. We’ve never had much success improving a slab that has bad cracks and also needs to be leveled.
      It sounds like you might be able to keep the stamped patio though.

      Cool. I don’t really understand the question… but…we only used one roller each for the first coat. We threw out the rollers after the first coat and had a new one ready for the second coat, but we didn’t end up using it.

  • @GOLDEN009BOY

    Thank you for sharing your videos. They are very informative. I have a similar project that I am looking to undertake and like the idea of using semi-transparent stain. Curious why you chose to use a water-based stain rather than a solvent-based stain on this project? Perhaps mistakenly, I've assumed a solvent-based stain would be more durable especially for areas exposed to weather elements. Thanks and I look forward to your response.

    • @TimDCVA
      @TimDCVA  ปีที่แล้ว

      👍🏻👍🏻 I only like to use solvent based sealer outside… and solvent based sealer reacts with the solvent based stains which can move the color around.
      Water based stains hold up really well as long as the surface is prepped/rough.

    Why don’t you acid wash before you acid stain ? The reason I ask is because when I painted my pergola, I used iclean and etching from rust oleum to clean the spilt stain and now I want to acid stain it. 🤦‍♂️

    • @Suburban_Mom
      @Suburban_Mom หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I think the reasoning is because the acid stain contains acid itself, which opens up the concrete and makes it porous and allows the color to adhere. If you acid wash first, the final
      color of the acid stain wouldn’t likely have the tonal variations that you would want to see from using it, because everything is already opened up and porous. You would probably end up with more of a solid color painted look. At least that’s my understanding from what I’ve been learning about the process.

    • @johnhawkins3507
      @johnhawkins3507 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Acid stain won't work if the concrete is acid washed first. Acid washing, or surface grinding, would remove the calcium which is concentrated on the surface of the concrete. The acid stain needs the calcium for the required chemical reaction. However, you could use a water based stain, which is just as good as the acid stain. Make sure you don't buy paint which is mislabeled as stain.

    • @TimDCVA

      Yes we acid washed this job.
      This is a semi transparent pigmented stain so acid washing is okay.
      You should not acid wash before using an acid-based stain.

    • @TimDCVA
