I kind of seriously doubt any one of the four guys here actually come into the comments section anymore (if they ever had before) but in that off chance that one of youins do read this, I have a question. If you, the interrogator, start navigating into pre-confession territory but it appears that the suspect is starting to clam back up, would it be a wise question to ask the suspect, "Well tell me, what do you expect the rest of your day to look like, or what events will transpire going forth from this second on?" I suspect the interrogatee will answer with one of two options. Either say ok, there's no good end to today in sight and begin to fil in the gaps and confess, or somehow try to convince everyone to just walk away and let him go home. I think as he begins to petition the continuation of his day in opting for choice #2, he will hear just how ridiculous this is sounding coming out of his mouth? I'm curious what any one of you 4 guys think of this approach, or would you have a modified form of this question, maybe?

FYI, this interview took place the same day as he committed the murder. I've watched this twice and had to go do a little research between watching to get her context of it all. I was a little confused about the when/where/why of it all and how the guy could be a police chief and do such horrific things!!! My brain is having a hard time with this one, y'all. This guy was a monster walking among us. 😱 For my brain to learn better, I needed some kind of context as to why he was dressed like that and why he was being interrogated for a murder that had an eye witness and plenty of physical evidence (gun shot residue on his car window, eye witness account, etc.). With the evidence they had on this man, Im curious to know why they were pressing so hard for an admission of guilt. Especially since I've read that he did ask for a lawyer at some point prior to this. Having said all of that, I did find it was easier for me to learn from this, having a better grasp of the context. And that's on me, not you guys. I really appreciate the time you put into these. GREAT VIDEO, btw. I've learned more from this video than I have in a while from a TH-cam creator. Thank you, gentleman. Once again, y'all killed it! 😉❤🔥 (Edit: This is information I learned after researching this case a little bit and thought it was interesting for anyone who cares) After the murder this man drove home, picked up his wife and daughter, and took them out to a steak dinner. I've read that he thought he was going to be arrested at the restaurant, but he was not. He was arrested on his way home with his wife and daughter at a police checkpoint near his home. His wife and daughter followed him to the police station in their own vehicle, where they were put in a separate room for questioning. Enter this interview. After he was arrested, his DNA was linked to a brutal SA case 20 years prior of a teacher whose name is Amy. She was brave enough to give a witness impact statement at the time of his conviction. There was a police officer who would not let her SA case go cold and had gotten a "John Doe" warrant for whoever belonged to that DNA.... which ended up being this monster. (Good job copper❤) P.S. I've read where his wife likened him to "Jesus" and said it was like watching Jesus carry his cross to his death at the time of the trial. (I'm paraphrasing) Jfc, some women believe anything.❤
I felt like that also. I had to get the background and the back story is crazy and they need to do yearly checks on our police, and anyone that has the ability to harm and corruption 🤔 and no one can do the job of mental checks in the same county so they don't hide anything to keep them in control.
I would love to see a video of you discussing this with Naconna. I hope you can connect and she is willing to do it. We want to hear from you, Naconna! Masterful.
Not when he brushed off the chair, but after, when he sat back down and extended his legs and sighed, my lizard brain screamed, "Danger!" If that happened through video, imagine how Naconna felt.
I wonder if him staring at her chair, after she left, then unable to help himself he then touches the chair affected her. We know she saw this, and it was creepy. When she came in, she didn't sit directly on the chair, where he touched earlier, she instead put her lower leg on the chair and sat on it. I wonder if she realized his mind frame and perceived the threat to herself? Had that not happened, I could easily see her scooting her chair over to him and getting close to him. Once he did that, I have to wonder if she recognized how bad he really was. I think her warning bells went off, and I don't blame her one bit. Great program, and she was awesome!
@@Jwask23 True, and most typically have a great deal of training. Even then, it's not personal because they're evaluating everything to get the evidence they need. Him touching the chair makes it personal. He's not just playing the game, he's crossed the line into something even more cringe worthy. That was about her, because she's a woman and the things going on in his head. Then again, he may have used that very action to psyche her out, but I don't think he was better at this than she was.
She was sitting on the chair like that before he did that. I saw this comment before the incident and didn't understand because she was already sitting on one of her legs.
This is the best episode I’ve ever seen. I’m gonna rewatch this one 729 times. More interrogation analysis would be FANTASTIC. I would be happy to pay for extended versions and variations of this kind of thing from y’all. And it’s only a hobby for me - I’m just a lawyer who doesn’t practice criminal but has had a passion for it since high school (I’m dating myself, but OJ). I’m sure those in law enforcement (or hopefully their departments) would pay more for these top-tier interrogation breakdowns. Incredible, guys. Top shelf.
I think it's her woman's intuition that held her back from moving closer. She senses something unpredictable and unsafe about him. Her body probably senses something we cannot see on the video. Excellent insight about why it's necessary to move in closer and create the "intimacy". Thanks for that explanation.
I thought EXACTLY the same. It’s difficult for women to break those “mores” , afraid of appearing too “intimate “ (because we get BLAMED for that crap in the real world! As a 70 year old woman- trust me on this one )
I don't know about you but he really creeped me out. I wouldn't want to be too close physically, she was incredibly gentle verbally and that was probably difficult enough
If she had moved in closer to him, she wouldn't have gained anything by it. He would have felt like he controlled the space. That's why he went to her chair and pretended to brush off dust. He was relieving his need to control her space.
Always love watching Chase’s facial reaction when Mark explains things dunno it always gets me those 2, yet so much respect to Scott & Greg the 4 of you are brilliant love it Cheerz 🇦🇺👏🏽👏🏽
@2:58:17 Scott, that's the first time I've ever heard anybody do such a long "they know you know they know..." thing flawlessly and not as a joke. It all laid out perfectly in your brain, lol. Well done!
AGREEED!! There is one episode they interview a man whose daughter is missing, I believe it was Greg and Scott. They also do a breakdown of the interview ? Possibly? I also remember Greg talking about interviewing someone and pointing out their uncomfortable tells. I believe this one was on the Dr. Phil show. I’ve watched so many episode I can’t remember specifics, but they should be on the channel somewhere.
It’s great to hear you mention Hans Scharf. I grew up around WW II veterans and my best buddy , his Dad was a ball turret gunner on B17’s. He was in the 8th Air Force in England. He had a copy of Hans Scharf’s book and told me that many downed pilots and air crewmen were interrogated by him. They remarked on how non threatening he was and never realized how much information they gave up. A master interrogator.
I think the reason the interrogator didn't move closer for the confession is that she saw what he did to her seat when she was out. It also shows in the way she's sitting down once she's back.
Same , however I would like to see Scott and Chase do one too . Not Greg .. Greg goes in for the kill , no messing around and I just can’t see his very direct style doing one of these sponsored plugs. Love the whole package we get . One of my favorite channels .
Dang! I watched, I fell asleep, I woke up, same video, still going, I mumbled "It's another 9 hour thing" I went back to sleep, the alarm woke me. I think I saw a total of twenty minutes of "I'm staying silent". Another one I have to rewatch, during the day with bright lights on and bells going.
Greg is such a great balance for the panel, and he seems so nice, but I would not want him to interrogate me. I would just confess as soon as he walked in and scowled at me.
Please keep us update on your interactions with this young interrogator. My wish is for you all will train her and make her into an Interrogator Extraordinaire ! Thanks again, that was fun.
My favorite is Scott. He’s both funny and handsome. And you know what else? He has kind eyes. Yeah. A lot of people say that. (This is one of the other guys replying, not Scott.)
Scott, you were especially fantastic in this one! Thank you for sharing your knowledge and skills. ❤ The long geeking out episodes are my favourite! I appreciate you all so much. Love from Glasgow. 😊
I think he dusted the chair, then sat back down and thought: "I bet that looked weird." So he dusted the table as if to say: "See, I was just in the mood to dust stuff."
I am a Southern woman. I recommend that she keep her accent even if some people recommend she lose it. People were always comfortable with me because they thought I wasn't all that bright (even Southern men, lol). It was useful in negotiations to be underestimated. 😊
I didn’t think she sounded ‘ not too bright’ but now you’ve said it I get your point. What I got from her accent is it’s friendly, she sounds relaxed and approachable. A good accent for interrogations for sure! 👍
This crime happened in my area in Rogers, Arkansas. He did get convicted of doing something to a school teacher who was working at the school off-hours. I would love for you to bring this interrogator onto your show and interview her about her insights and methods in this case. I ❤ your channel and you guys do an excellent job. I’ve learned so much from watching and you all have great camaraderie and keep it interesting!
I was arrested for public intoxication a few years back while tailgating at a football game, and after being read my Miranda rights, I told the officer I was invoking my right to remain silent, and because I remained silent when they asked me for my name, they charged me with interference with official acts 🤨 Sure, I could have avoided it by just giving them my name, but how can you tell someone they have the right to remain silent, but then charge them with a crime when they do. It’s been 10+ years, and I still think about how messed up that was.
Pretty sure that is interference, because identifying yourself, and remaining silent after arrest are two separate things. I'd ask, if you already got arrested for DUI, what good did you think it would do to not tell your name? I mean, they got you. ??
Great interview/interrogation. I love that she’s the non-threatening girl and he’s the big man. It works to her advantage. So many other subtle things going on. I can see why this video was chosen to teach. Love you guys! Love your channel!
This level of skill in reading body language and adjusting communication tactics is not exclusive to interrogators. A good psych nurse with some years under their belt will learn to do this naturally, without formal training. With time and skill you can develop rapport with even the most withdrawn, hostile, resistant, and psychotic patients - whether it's a forensic or outpatient setting.
@TheBehaviorPanel Disagree. I don't think you can diminish a lifetime's work of experience and claim you can wrap all of that up in a 2-week course. You can't "learn" intuition and really excel at the art of communication without years of experience. I get that you're trying to promote your courses and products on here which is fine of course, but no need to use that to discredit your subscriber's careers or experiences. After all, in every episode you guys encourage us panelists to leave comments, to share our experiences and opinions, right?
@@ck9436 Having worked for many years, as a nurse at a crazy county hospital, I agree. Obviously, TBP are very smart, with tons of experience. I'm just saying, we nurses see a different side of things...and, we would be lost without good instincts, and being able to "read" people, often in very unique situations.
Totally agree. Experience in getting to know each patient's baseline, noticing subtle changes in their speech or behavior, and learning effective approach and communication techniques with each of them allowed me to provide nursing care for them while keeping myself safe in a forensic hospital. In all the years I worked there, I was never attacked by a patient, but many times had to use my experience to calm a patient who was posturing or becoming verbally threatening for any number of reasons. I wasn't in the safety of a police station with cops in the next room if something went wrong, carried no form of protection/weapon on my body. Knowing my patient's baseline, building prior rapport, and adapting in the moment kept me safe. I'm in an outpatient psych setting now, so very low risk of physical attack (yay!) but the same skills apply. I love my work, it truly is an honor to work with the patients and I would not trade my career experiences for anything. I enjoy watching TBP episodes and it's interesting to see their expert analysis of each episode. I'm particularly fond of Mark's role on the panel as he focuses more on general interpretation of universal human behavior and body language and communication skills rather than interrogation skills. Plus, I must admit being that my mother and all her family are English and he is also English I really appreciate his witty sense of humor and inclusion of UK-specific references. Mark, you've got 'status' with me! 😁
@@TheBehaviorPanel I assume your courses are excellent but there is nothing like real world experience and/or being a woman (especially a woman over 45) already equipped with natural intuition (some women don't have it) that makes you adept at this.
The reviews and breakdowns of interrogation videos are always the best and SO informative. Loved this one and stoked to always be learning from you guys!!!
I got a vibe that the reason why she doesn’t reach out and touch his knee or whatever is because the man creeps her out. She doesn’t want to touch him. That’s just my impression as a woman I think you’re right he’s brushed off her seat because she is attractive to him.
It would seem so fundamental a part of interrogation to document a perp's graphic nasty statements for a judge and jury. I can and do appreciate that the channel is usually so all ages friendly and not jarring, but given the subject matter and the top tier performance I think it would be fitting, fair and prudent to offer that entire section to us panelists, uncensored and age gated with a warning. I'm sure many of us really would like to see it.
Many comments are regarding why, when he says he wants to “remain silent”, the police keep asking questions. Until he asks for a lawyer the police can continue to ask questions, and he can choose to remain silent, which he does not do even though he knows he should. Notice that once he does asks for a lawyer, no more questions are asked. BTW, he was in law enforcement and would have known the subtleties of the US law.😂
Just found and watched Investigation Discovery "Shattered: Do you Know My Voice" - S3 E4 about this case. Wow. Thanks for this one, guys. Hard to watch, but very informative.

(Edit: This is information I learned after researching this case a little bit and thought it was interesting for anyone who cares)
After the murder this man drove home, picked up his wife and daughter, and took them out to a steak dinner.
(Good job copper❤)
If you get that interview with her, PLEASE let us see it!!
What's so stupid is his referring to remaining silent, but not using the magic words "I want an attorney."
This is back to the Panel at their best. Greg is bossing it. The Chase-Mark bromance is on. Scott is a nice guy. Great team.
Best comment here.
“You’re not a bad guy”
*Ticker taper across the bottom screen*
She’s a phenomenal actor and interrogator!
I'm pretty sure all interrogators have situations that affect them in some way. But this is the career they chose.
Saw Greg on Newsmax last night...always proud to see "our guys" out and about.
Top shelf.
Hey all. Let’s give these gentlemen some likes for application of their experience, intelligence, and insight.
❤❤❤
I agree with you Scott about the reason he touched her chair. He was wanting to see if it was still warm. That really made my skin crawl
You were spot on Chase. So creepy
Super creepy vibe from him. Ick factor.
@@nanakoosa1 - I agree! Creepy guy
If she had moved in closer to him, she wouldn't have gained anything by it. He would have felt like he controlled the space. That's why he went to her chair and pretended to brush off dust. He was relieving his need to control her space.
🎉an interrogation!!! Thanks guys ! Looking forward to it!
I thought I'd be bored watching this interrogation again, but the commentary about interrogation methods is so interesting.
Always love watching Chase’s facial reaction when Mark explains things dunno it always gets me those 2, yet so much respect to Scott & Greg the 4 of you are brilliant love it Cheerz 🇦🇺👏🏽👏🏽
So happy to see you excited, it doesn't get any better, thanks to all four of you!!
It will be a replay. Best from Denmark🇩🇰
You can't just say you want to be silent and keep talking. You have to say the magic words: I want a lawyer.
How did this cop ever agree to walk into an interrogation room without a lawyer?
@2:58:17 Scott, that's the first time I've ever heard anybody do such a long "they know you know they know..." thing flawlessly and not as a joke. It all laid out perfectly in your brain, lol. Well done!
Greg, I love to hear your analysis each time and it’d be so great to see you interrogating someone.
Enjoyed every single minute of this one. Worth sticking with the length!! Thank you!
I have to say, Mark does the promotional portions really well.
Same , however I would like to see Scott and Chase do one too . Not Greg .. Greg goes in for the kill , no messing around and I just can’t see his very direct style doing one of these sponsored plugs. Love the whole package we get . One of my favorite channels .
I'm especially going to enjoy the relational context of this one. Glad I'm free to see it live for once!
Ms. Naconna Cordeiro, please, please come on and let the panel interview you!!! Brilliant, all five of you!! 💚💛💚💛🩷
“When I’ve grabbed and bagged people” how can Greg be so nice when he’s also so scary 😅😂
So much eye candy 🍭 on this panel! AND they’re brilliant, too.
Gross. Weirdo
@@camnorwood157 Chase is Hot!, Mark is pretty cute too
My favorite is Scott. He’s both funny and handsome. And you know what else? He has kind eyes. Yeah. A lot of people say that. (This is one of the other guys replying, not Scott.)
And yet I read it in Scott's voice. 👍
He had the right to remain silent. He just didn’t have the ability. 😂
Mark’s hair looks awesome!
Mark's a real cutie. Now if I was only 30 years younger.
I'm amazed that I naild a live 😊
Coming in from Sweden
Chase knocking it out of the box tonight. Thank u so mucb guys as always ❤
". . . out of the park." Is the expression. I don't mean to be a stinkler ; )
When can we watch and analyse a Greg Interrogation? It would be SO good. SO interesting.
She went to her closet and changed into her luau shirt when she found out what he was wearing ! Genius
Scott, you were especially fantastic in this one! Thank you for sharing your knowledge and skills. ❤ The long geeking out episodes are my favourite!
I appreciate you all so much. Love from Glasgow. 😊
Yay! Thank you, Nicola. 🙂
@@TheBehaviorPanel God loves you but you're my favourite!!😊❤
I think he dusted the chair, then sat back down and thought: "I bet that looked weird." So he dusted the table as if to say: "See, I was just in the mood to dust stuff."
I had a different opinion initially but the way you worded that has changed my mind
Agree with Scott and Chase about his wiping the chair. It immediately gave me the creeps.
My immediate thought was that he wanted to touch her but that was as close as he would get and he couldn’t resist it 🤮
@@beverlysettle8235 Absolutely
I am a Southern woman. I recommend that she keep her accent even if some people recommend she lose it. People were always comfortable with me because they thought I wasn't all that bright (even Southern men, lol). It was useful in negotiations to be underestimated. 😊
I didn’t think she sounded ‘ not too bright’ but now you’ve said it I get your point. What I got from her accent is it’s friendly, she sounds relaxed and approachable. A good accent for interrogations for sure! 👍
It always worked for Sheriff Taylor ❤ on Andy Griffith.
I love that Greg gets so excited about interrogations. That’s super cool.
HAPPY Veterans Day to all that gave! ❤❤
I'm so blown away by her talent. I want to learn more about her training and natural ability. It would be great to have y'all interview her.
Outstanding!!!! Such a good segment. We were on the edge of out seats waiting for that confession. Soooo close. Thanks for a great analysis!!
This was amazing - I would love to see you guys cheering her at the end! This has to be one of my favorite videos you’ve done 😊
That was outstanding. I'm sure she'll call in, it must be nice to hear that you are a rising star, especially since she only appears to be in her 30s.
Not just behavioural analysis but a master class in interrogation. Thanks Panel
I've never watched a 4-hour long TH-cam video, but this went by so quickly. Exciting stuff, gentlemen! Thanks for sharing.
It makes me happy seeing how giddy you guys get when it comes to something your so passionate about your smiles makes me smile thank you
If Chase said he wanted me on his team, I would literally sell everything I own and be on his doorstep the next day.
😂😂😂
Great interview/interrogation. I love that she’s the non-threatening girl and he’s the big man. It works to her advantage. So many other subtle things going on. I can see why this video was chosen to teach. Love you guys! Love your channel!
This level of skill in reading body language and adjusting communication tactics is not exclusive to interrogators. A good psych nurse with some years under their belt will learn to do this naturally, without formal training. With time and skill you can develop rapport with even the most withdrawn, hostile, resistant, and psychotic patients - whether it's a forensic or outpatient setting.
Or, you can take one of our courses and learn much of it in only a couple of weeks. 👍
I finally completed this episode, loved every minute of it, thanks for uploading it, learning through it has been a life changer for me.
I REALLY HOPE y'all have made contact w her and have plans to work w her! She's phenomenal!!!
😂😂😂 gotta love Scott..."Oh my Lord, we gotta get u fixed" 😂😂😂
I’m confused about why he’s not asking for an attorney with his insistence on his right to remain silent..?..🇺🇸🤷♀️🙆♀️
Because he's never expected to be on that side of the interrogation room. He's awful
Super cool that Chase wants her on his team!!😊 She did a damn good job!

Same!!! Disgusting 🤢
The reviews and breakdowns of interrogation videos are always the best and SO informative. Loved this one and stoked to always be learning from you guys!!!
How was he a CHEIF??? He can’t even string a proper sentence together.
I got a vibe that the reason why she doesn’t reach out and touch his knee or whatever is because the man creeps her out. She doesn’t want to touch him. That’s just my impression as a woman I think you’re right he’s brushed off her seat because she is attractive to him.
💯She did a great job hiding how creepy he was though!
Scott!!! Where are all the excited bits at the end? I was so excited when you said that and then it ended!!
It was a little too loud and had way too many graphic words that would have been embarrassing even if I beeped them out. 😬
@@RexApplegateLately, if you put stuff like that on youtube, they will take down your video.
I think they were referring to themselves (TBP), not the perp but them reacting to the interrogation footage @@RexApplegate
"He's in trouble for sum stuuf." 😂. Scott's southern roots readily apparent. I love their work.

Why didn’t he just say he wanted a lawyer and stop it?
Arrogance, probably
He liked listening & watching the pretty lady. I bet if she wasn't a sweet sounding, attractive woman, he would have shut it down sooner.
@@PaperclipProphets exactly!!
Come on Nocona! We’d all really REALLY love to see and hear you! 😊
When I saw the color of her top, I wondered if she kept a choice of clothing to try to match clothes with suspects.
😮 good point
