      Listening to her podcasts, I sense that we are not taking stalking and coercive control seriously enough. We have young men looking up to Andrew Tate as a role model. The police are not taking it seriously today. The horse racing producer who wife and two daughters killed by the daughter ex. Pretty sure that there were reports about his behaviour and the police failed to act. This was on the news about 3 months ago.

    Laura Richards is a global hero in this field. She has done more to protect women and children as well as more to apprehend the cowardly men who harm them, than any other individual. And she’s been at it for decades.
    She deserves a Nobel Peace Prize for her contribution to stopping male violence against women and children.

    Everything said here about stalking is really important. Someone as high profile as Rhianna, with mountains of money. Still had an incredibly difficult journey in court. Proving this guy was, in fact stalking. Even though it was widely known and documented, the guy was doing what he was doing. This happens to everyday people. And when you are put in this situation, it is very scary.

    • @apaaaa
      @apaaaa หลายเดือนก่อน +33

      It is very important. Stalking is way more prevalent nowadays with social media and it should be prosecuted more harshly. Of course it wouldn't stop every stalker but at least we would get the clearly deranged people who do this out of society for extended periods of time. It seems that currently stalkers get a slap on the wrist or no punishment at all if they "only" mentally torment people and ruin their lives.
      Everyday people often have no resources to combat stalker problems other than calling the local police. And way too often they do nothing about it if violence hasn't happened yet and with time these cases inevitably lead to the horrible outcomes we read on the news. I'm glad there's people out there pushing for change though!

    For those who don't know Corey's case: Corey was put on the treadmill by Greg for being "too fat" and he tortured that little boy with exercise i.a. until his little body gave out. 😢 The courts giving Greg access to his son after 100 reports by Corey's mum should sit in prison with him as well.

      And women who are just like Corey's mum, who are trying their hardest to protect their children, are too often accused of parental alienation for reporting child abuse. I see so many men saying how unfair the family courts are to men, but the truth is they're not fair to children. They don't protect children from abusive fathers, even when there is more than enough evidence to press charges.
      Laura gets abused online all the time for using the term 'male violence' by people who don't care about the victims, don't even really care about men and boys, but hate that a woman is calling it out for what it is.

      That's an interesting perspective. It rings a bell because Adolf Hitler is a vampire who's still alive with a pseudonym. I'm his great-great-great granddaughter by a previous alter ego of his. He's been stalking me since at least age 7, and probably since birth. The surname Hitler literally means to affront, abduct, or abase. (His previous identity, my grandpa, once presided over the entire international African colonial system.) That's why it really clicked when you equated stalking with sabotaging someone's autonomy.
      However this is mitigated by the fact that I'm the weak, and he's the tyranny of evil men. But he's TRYIN', Ringo. He's tryin' REAL HARD to be the shepherd. Like Samuel L. Jackson in Pulp Fiction.

      You can indeed learn cognitive empathy. Problem is? Not all people want to. Also if you had a extremely traumatic childhood... be aware that CPTSD sometimes is confused by therapists/psychiatrists with BPD and ASPD. The fact that you want to heal and improve speaks more to severe trauma than an inborn lack of empathy (such as those with psychopathy which is a structural brain abnormality. ) Some of the things that appear "sociopathic" and " attachment avoidant' in your behavior are trauma responses versus the full blown personality disorders. I wish you well. Don't let the labels define you.

      Aspd is something else than psychopathy is, which can be seen on brain scans. Psychopaths are literally unable to learn empathy, they’re usually born like that.

    Her owning the fact that mistakes had been made directly to the Mother was very powerful to me.
    She's a good lady.

    1:28 i feel the same way and have personally dealt with stalker behavior from men. I had to move states and still recently the guy friend requested my son on fb! He will not take no for an answer. No one takes it serious enough. So many women die at the hands of a partner it’s an epidemic. For me personally a restraining order scared me because they notify the next day! A court date is set we both have to show! Then it’s put into place but then he definitely will be angry! And if he gets jailed for breaking the restraining order he’ll get out shortly and come after me. 😟🧐 There is not enough definite help for these matters. I ended up buying self defense. All ladies should in my opinion.

    Really incredible to get Laura on this platform and bring this awareness to perhaps those who may not have it on their radar.
