    FANTASTIC Job sir!! If you wrap that chrome on the grille, are you going to buy one giant sheet or piece together narrow strips?

    • @EverythingAvron
      @EverythingAvron  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you!.. and Ive thought about that. and I think I going to end up buying a 4" thick strip and using that! I'll put the overlap seam at the top of the grille where you can't really see it

    I can’t afford 3m so I am going to be using the cheapest vinyl. I hope it comes out looking as good.

      Thank you! most definitely.. Actually I just bought some plastic razors online to eliminate the paint scratch risk! Soon I'll test them out when I black out the trim on my Fusion! Happy New year as well!

    Looks sharp Boss! Is there a reason why you didn't use a heat gun?

    • @EverythingAvron
      @EverythingAvron  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      On the small areas of this trim I didn't need to stretch of mold the vinyl at all it laid down flat and smooth. however I normally just heat up the finished vinyl just to get that adhesive warm and settled... on bigger pieces such as hoods /roofs .etc I definitely use my heat gun!

    • @EverythingAvron
      @EverythingAvron  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      So being that the trim pieces are so small it would'a been more difficult for me to keep it in place when pulling, and having to use the Wrap cut on both sides of the trim I would of used a significant amount that I didn't want to. lol aka personal preference

    • @wreck_ignition7847
      @wreck_ignition7847 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Thanks for the excellent video. Can this vinyl wrap be used on the black plastic trim such as the trim located on the doors, around the side mirrors and the long plastic trim pieces that are on either side of the rear window? While I'm sure it varies depending on location and weather conditions as well as if one keeps the vehicle covered or it's always in the elements, such as constant exposure to sun and rain I'm curious as to how often this process would have to be repeated/replaced?
    I like this process and I'm thinking strongly of trying it because as stated, to have the pieces replaced is costly. I almost didn't mind paying for the pieces but the cost to remove/replace them was waaaaay stupid. Heck I already own the car, I'm not trying to rebuy it.

    • @EverythingAvron
      @EverythingAvron  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Depends on the surface finish in my opinion... if its a smooth plastic, and you clean it really good so all oil, wax, and contaminants are off, im sure it will stick good. But you're 100% correct in that weather and storage conditions and vinyl care play a lot in the longevity of the wrap. its hard to estimate due to those factors.... But here in AZ where summers can hit over 120° F and its dry heat, I get about 2 - 3 years before I replace mine.

    How long do these vinyl wraps last takin into consideration with different weather conditions (Snow, Heat ,Rain ,Cold)?

    • @EverythingAvron
      @EverythingAvron  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Short answer is, "Depends", because a lot of factors play apart in the longevity of these wraps. so the range can be as broad as 2 years to 10 years. but as a data point. My fusion which I would daily drive and it would be parked in the AZ sun all day at work with 115°F days, It lasted about 2 years... But my wife Jaguar which is garage kept and driven maybe 4 to 8 days out of the month. that should easily last at least 7 years.

    • @EverythingAvron
      @EverythingAvron  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      you don't necessarily have to use the Heat gun if its hot outside. But the warmer the adhesive is on the vinyl the sticker it is. You could use the sun too if your outside that will warm things up. But I just always make sure I have, 1. A clean surface and 2. warm Vinyl.
