Hiya, I have another original song... thing.
This would have been out sooner but life tends to happen when you're attempting to do things.
So this is sorta meant as a prequel to the last original song I posted. I liked the idea of writing something based around the notion of learning about the events which lead to the existence of the non-euclidean foe - whatever those were.
Like maybe a culture of people in almost their entirety vanished entirely without any historical record but you happen to come across something which implies their existence, leading you towards an uncertainty as to their fate - but you do encounter the non-euclidean being during this exploration. Did it help them? Did it destroy them? Is it a weapon? Is it even sentient? Who knows!!!! I certainly don't!
With this idea in mind, the piano melody played in my head - so I jotted that down and composed the rest of the song around it.
My approach to songwriting I think is pretty simplistic: vibes only. Just whatever comes to mind at the time I'm sitting down and recording is what goes in - I arrange covers this way too. The only reason I ever incorporate "progressive" or "complicated" sounding stuff is just because it sounds cool to me. There isn't really much in terms of logic behind it.
Once again Rachel was tasked with the impossible: visualize a civilization that we're unsure even existed and only leaves traces implying it may have at some point. I would hate to work for me.
...I think she did a great job all things considered.
I'll do more original stuff this year, but I also have some covers I wanna get to as well. Not sure what will be next... but please enjoy this until then!!!!

To me it fits for a boss theme and the area leading up to the final boss

I like how starting at 2:24 is a shared motif between Liminal Archeology and Battle Against a Non Euclidean Foe. However, here it breaks down into a melody thats meant to feel confusing and claustrophobic, like the presence of said Non Euclidean Foe is breaking down reality around itself, while in the original song its used to act as a stabalization point so the listener has a chance to breath.
I kinda want to view the motif as the boundary point between Euclidean and Non Euclidean space because of that.
Ohoho I'm starting to see a trend. I really hope this is what I think it is and we'll see a full album release somewhere in the future, with all the songs being similarly themed around abstract concepts

This reminds me of your 2017 Corridors of Time video with you standing betwen the two squares of light on either side of you because liminal is defined by merriam webster as of, relating to, or being an intermediate state, phase, or condition.
