This is honestly the best way to listen to this song, the rock contributes visceral energy while the symphony and choir add grace and a healthy dose of tragedy.
...Dunno about that. They are Undead after all, they don't care about getting hurt and dying... So they're probably gonna be the only ones left by the end of the show. Pointy hats don't help. Besides, they are probably edgy as fuck, so i'm going nowhere near whatever post-hardcore band they are into (no offense).
I am still gonna join that pit. The wall of death will be priceless, what can happen? There are only two options, getting through the wall or getting to Valhalla :P
The Abyss Watchers are my fav bosses in the Dark souls Era! They just so cool. I pity them because the music makes this fight sad. I just wish that any rpg would have a class like them, big sword swinging in one hand and jumping all over the place ignited with fire, it would be awesome! Thanks for the mix
Honestly I would give a lot to see a 30 minute montage of the undead Legion (not just the watchers) completly crushing an entire kingdom just cause they think it may have some knowlege about the Abyss.
The Latin chanting roughly translates to: I will slay you, victim of the cinder. To block you from the false oath, I will slay you. Victim of the flame, victim of the fallacy, I'm suffering, suffering from the flame's fallacy and the wolf's oath. per the fallacy. I'm thirsty, suffering form this fallacy, from wolf's oath. I know it is, and always has been impossible, but I've always wanted to see a boss so insane that it'd be like the burnt ivory king fight in that you are given npc allies, except 100 times hard and the npc allies are other bosses. I tried to write a script for an ashen one boss that involved this, knowing it would never happen, but I always thought it'd be cool, and this would start playing when the entire legion joins you, every bosses theme overlapping into 1 big clusterfuck
I feel like it would be amazing to take down an entire kingdom that had fallen to the abyss with them, like maybe a memory like in Dark Souls 2. Repeating the Legion destroying Carthus would be amazing
Might do one once I've checked the existing covers. Don't get your hopes up though , just go listen to them yourself - FalKKonE has probably made a great one.
This might sound stupid coming from me but did you write this song because you like the abyss Watchers or just because you wanted to ? Either way I'm cool with it and thank you for the song
Loved the way they arranged the snare throughout the piece; to a martial beat. Because from my understanding, at their core, they were a military formation
Man the abyss watcher was the hard as hell when the game firstcame out I spent a month trying trying to beat him but eventually I did it. this song is beginning to be nostalgic and its pretty emotional
Best thing to do while listening to this music; cosplay as an abyss watcher, but with the wolf greatsword and roleplay as "the last abyss watcher" or some shit
funny, I was reading the first few volumes of Berserk recently and when he was fighting off wolves, he had the same pose as Artorias (Some what related ) had a broken arm and everything, crazy how much inspiration Dark Souls got from that Manga
@@porkfreegaming5278 Berserk is one the best things to ever see the light of day, I hope it will be continued. If you want From Software music that also fits Berserk I recommend the main theme of Kings Field 4, such dark vibes

i am disagree with your description of this video. Dark soul music is dark and scary for atmosphere but bosses are different. Bosses music are not just dark and scary but it also create and convey emotion, special emotion which is felt from these bosses as a character which give a unique feel to everyone. Abyss watcher is one of the best example. His theme is melancholy and slow paced with very quiet and tragic atmosphere. it didn't feel like dark and scary at all. It even feel like tragedy of a heroic figure and how they have to destroy their own ambitions and love toward everyone and drowned into their own darkness to save everyone by killing everyone by their own pleasure to kill others to find last bit of happiness. It feel like how a hero slowly transform into their own heroic version of monsters.
@Sephi D gj man! absolutely amazing work! can i ask you for a high quality mp3 of this mix? and if you can an mp3 of only the original abyss watchers you made for this; i want do a project with this! Thanks !
really many thanks man! i try to do my self but i don't understand when is the point to restart the song, becouse the second part of the original isn't included in the cover!
I think their story is the saddest to me. A close, bonded brotherhood shattered by corruption and power. And all for what? To further a dying, stagnant age that should have burned out long ago.
I think they didn't do it to prolong the age of fire, but hoped that by burning themselves they can rid the world of abyss that corrupted them. And it evidently didn't work.
Exploring'n'Shit it's supposed to feel like your ending a sick animal. The abyss watchers were corrupted from the abyss ( as shown on their capes, with them having black tendrils going up their back) you are their last opponent.
Cover is done by RichaadEB, not me - I just mixed them together. If you want heavier tracks, I suggest checking out his original cover since it lacks the game track, as well as Ekstal (I think that was his name), who is also veering more into extreme metal territory. Although honestly, did you expect Behemoth or Marduk to cover Dark Souls? Come on, tame your expectations a bit. Check out Utamaru's covers, he was the first to cover Dark Souls music in a metal style. Not to shit on the guy, but I think the quality of metal VGM covers improved a LOT since then, it's not just the same djent/metalcore shit over and over again.
Honestly I've heard some metal covers of VGM that absolute garbage because it's TOO much metal and all traces of the original song get lost in it. It has to resemble the original and it's even better if you're able to incorporate the original into your cover through out the entirety of the cover.
This is honestly the best way to listen to this song, the rock contributes visceral energy while the symphony and choir add grace and a healthy dose of tragedy.

It should be sad. That's the point. These guys tried to follow in the false footsteps of Artorias, the Abysswalker, who like them fell to the Abyss.
