- In this video you can enjoy the cab ride - train drivers view from Chur (585 m) to St. Moritz (1,775 m) in Switzerland, along the Chur -Thusis line and from there along the Albula line from Thusis (697 m) to St. Moritz (1,775 m). You can enjoy this video in the resolution 4K/60 frames per second.
The Albula Railway is a single-track metre gauge railway line forming part of the so-called core network of the Rhaetian Railway (RhB), in the canton of Graubünden, Switzerland. It links Thusis on the Hinterrhein at 697 m and Filisur at 1,080 m with the spa resort of St. Moritz in Engadine at 1,774 m.
Construction of the Albula Railway was begun in September 1898, the opening took place on 1 July 1903, and the extension to St. Moritz commenced operations on 10 July 1904. With its 55 bridges and 39 tunnels, the 61.67-kilometre-long line is one of the most spectacular narrow-gauge railways in the world.
On 7 July 2008, the Albula Railway and the Bernina Railway, which also forms part of the RhB, were jointly recorded in the list of UNESCO World Heritage Sites, under the name Rhaetian Railway in the Albula / Bernina Landscapes.
St. Moritz is a resort town in the Swiss canton of Graubünden. It is the southern terminus of the Albula Railway line from Chur, and a northern terminus for the Bernina Railway line from Tirano in Italy. The St. Moritz railway station came into operation in 1904.
Chur is a capital of the canton of Graubünden, Switzerland. The railway station was opened in 1858 and it is the most important railway junction in Graubünden. The station is the terminus of the Swiss Federal Railways (SBB CFF FFS) standard-gauge main line from Zürich and is also one of the most important stations on the Rhaetian Railway (RhB) metre-gauge network.

Definetely one of the most spectacular normal passenger railway in The Alps. Every meter of the line offers amatzing views to the high mountains around, it's incredible how they managed to build this line for many years, with so many tunnels and viaducts. Did that trip , in fact , did all trajects in Graubunden with the RhB out of Filisur in a week , it is a fantastic experiance . Chur is a verry nice old town . Thank you for this great video .

Do standard gauge locomotives traveling on this route between Chur and Domat/Ems use RhB buoys or has the RhB also installed standard gauge buoys (Indusi etc. etc.)? Thanks a lot for the clarification

If I want to travel from Saint Moritz to Zurich Flughafen via Chur, would you know the platform no. for the change?
@nikithamohan9520 the train from St. Moritz usually arrive in Chur at Platform 9 and leaves from Platform 10, but you should check on the SBB timetable for the exact train, all the platforms are written there.

can you imagine living at a time when your only option for transportation was a horse ? im guessing those tunnels were dug out in the 1800s. just imagine the
man hours to do that . i'm glad i wasn't born yet. i don't want to know what life was like without today's modern conveniences if i had to live it while enjoy history
