Hi, my j1 program shortened by my sponsor and they told me that they will change the ds 2019 form expiration date to 8/15 but they won't send me a new ds 2019.
I have old ds 2019 form with me, my visa and my old ds 2019 form expiration date is 10/1.
In that case how long I can stay in U.S? Or is there any problem if I miss the expiration date when I leave the U.S to go back home to my country?

    • @j-1visaconsulting258
      @j-1visaconsulting258  ปีที่แล้ว

Hello. Your sponsor needs to send you an updated DS-2019 form if they shortened your program. It's your right as a J-1 visa holder. You should insist that they provide this to you so that you can have correct documentation. You have a 30 day grace period (8/15 + 30 days) to remain in the U.S. before you'll be required to depart. If you stay after this, you will start to accumulate unlawful presence.

Hi, I accidentally signed the form in black ink. I then signed it again in blue ink. Place and date is blue ink too. It’s just one signature that is black ink.

That's fine. It's the ARO who needs to sign in only blue ink.

I would be grateful if you could tell me the meaning of the Purpose of this form: Replace a DS-2019 form (Lost) and Begin new program; accompanied by number (2) of immediate family members were written on my and my dependents' DS-2019 forms, respectively.

Hi! Your videos are very informative. I would like to what all documents have to be filled by the employer for a J1 trainee visa?
    Is it DS-2019, DS - 7002 AND I-901?

    • @j-1visaconsulting258

Hello and thank you! The employer would have to complete a J-1 sponsorship application providing information about their business. Only a U.S. Department of State designated sponsor can issue the DS-2019 and DS-7002. I-901 is the SEVIS receipt.

He ma´am I had my visa interview and my visa was approved but when I recieved my visa yesterday I noticed that they issued my visa for 5 years which is weird because it normally can not be over 4 months or so(the rest of the information is correctly). Also, they did not sign my ds2019 so there is not a sign on the part that says "signature of consular or immigration officer" and I do not know if that could be a problem when going to the USA. can you help me with any information

    Hii!
thank you for your videos. There is so much information that everything is confused.
I got an acceptance letter from a company in New York for an internship. I will not receive any salary from the company but I will get an Erasmus scholarship from my university in Germany. In this case, does the company in the US need to receive the DS-2019, how can I explain this to them?

    Hello, I need your help,
I lost my original DS-2019 after getting a J-1 visa, and I still cannot find it. However, I found its scanned data as per attached. Do you think I will be able to enter the US with this scanned one?
I am currently ordering official documents through FedEx, but it looks like I won't be able to get them in time before my travel date.
If I don't receive it, I will have a printout of my email with the international office and the phone number of the university where I will be studying, but is there anything else I need besides those things?
Some universities send the DS-2019 in PDF format, while other universities do not publish the DS-2019 in PDF format.
If a student who plans to go to the latter type of universities were to print out the Ds2019 and use it, would he/she be able to enter the country?
It is strange that students who plans to go to the former type of universities can enter the country while students the latter cannot.
