I am on my second pair of the V1s and loved them right out of the box. They just feel great at any pace and I found the stability compared to some other super shoes to be a huge factor. Can’t wait to get my hands on the v2s. 😍
The commentary and comments are interesting. Its a super shoe, if Molly Seidel can win a bronze in a pair of Puma Deviate Nitro shoes what else there to say. Runner's seem to fixated on high stacks and squishy high return energy foams. I think the Puma shoes definitely fit the bill for runners that don't like the stiff plated shoes like Endorphin Pro, SC Elite, etc. The Puma's to me feel the most natural of any plated running shoe but to each their own. Back in 2010 when i started running half/full marathons i like the Nike Lunar series, was my fav shoes. Puma remind me of those but better.
Well, it is a $200 “super” shoe vs. $250 to $275 super shoes. And maybe Megan’s sore feet at the end of the half had something to do with her Achilles tendinitis and nothing to do with the sleeves or the shoes?
hi im from 2024, and i got this shoe for Php 2000, used, and i gotta say its the lightest and best shoe in my rotation. I have deviate nitro 2, reebok floatride energy x, vaporfly next 1, Li ning shadow 2 essential, and this is the fastest shoe, most comfy shoe to run with.
I bought a pair after my Adidas Adios 2 Pro broke (snapped a carbon energy rod) and I've been super happy with the Pumas. Very nice fit, and good room in the toe box. Honestly I'm considering a half marathon in them very soon. No sore spots and they are very poppy at speeds faster than 7:30 a mile. I run the half at 7:00 mins per mile pace.
@believe in the run , could this be the better race day shoe (compared to the vaporfly, endorphin pro), if the course consists of a mix between gravel forest roads and streets ? because of the higher stability and better grip. in our region most races are a mix between street and gravel roads.
Thanks for the review. I have the V1. Although it is much lighter than the V2, for me this is only a 5K/10K shoe. I ran 9 miles in them recently, and I definitely missed the cushion of a higher stack shoe.
A little heavy for their class, but they look really good. I'm really excited for their models that they showed coming later this year. The magnify looks really improved.
I have the V1 and love them. I haven’t gotten on with any of the ‘super shoes’ but these (well the V1) seems to work very well for me for races and speed shoe. Disclaimer is I haven’t used it for a marathon, but I may do!
V1 had some upper issue around the ankle area. Other than that, it has been a great shoe for my tempo runs. But I wish they removed the excess foam for V2 so it could be better for speed works.
Are you sure you mean the deviate elite and not the regular deviate? I have the deviate elite, no problems there but i heard many had problems with the deviate(v1)
I would be great if you could get some calipers and measure the heel stack of shoes! Just as you have a scale to check how honest Puma was here about the weight. You say this 36mm shoe feels like it has less stack than others, but my size 10.5US Endorphin Pro 3 has 37mm stack for both left and right. So while on paper it has 4mm more stack, measuring it tells a different story.
We just got some so will try and include the true measurement in future reviews. Only issue is that the brands typically use a size 9 for stack measurement and none of us in office wear that size
I have the original version and was disappointed relative to other 'super' shoes especially the Vaporfly, Endorphin Pro 3, Metaspeed Sky and Adios Pro 2. Given your feedback in this review, I'll pass on this version. As always, an excellent and fair review. It irks me when I see other youtubers just promoting shoes rather than honestly reviewing them so thank you! 👍😊
I really like V1 as a half marathon race shoe and marathon trainer. V2 looks cool, but given my focus this year is 1000% on trail and ultra racing, then it’s a pass from me. The Puma trail lineup is starting to pique my interest, though.
We’re at a place where 36 mm isn’t enough for marathons when people spent years up until 6 years ago running is bricks. I just bought a pair of vaporflys and I wasn’t that impressed with them at all
Disappointed to be honest , I already use the first one as my marathon trainer / fast long run shoe , I don't need another one. However because my daily shoe is an altra Escalante , and the fact in can pop out a 10k in barefoot shoes perhaps would not be to bad for me. (I will have to remain objective) , as always thank you for the review
its sublime shoe for slower joggers to go a lil faster on their good days, the speedy gazelles need 200g and the elderly like the 2 reviewers need more cush 🤣

I agree. Comfort and speed need to go together for me. I don’t feel like I could turn an ankle in my Pumas either.

I have the V1 and ran a full last spring, agree it’s a great half marathon shoe. I was excited to see V2, but now wondering about the NB Supercomp V3

Y’all had so much recording this! Love it! Pretty surprised with the weight gain and meh experience. Great review!

GUYS, i'M DYING TO HEAR YOUR TAKE ON THE NEW LIBERATE 2. Will you please do a comparison review with the Elite?
Did we reach peak carbon plated super shoes in 2022? 2020 for Nike
V1 had some upper issue around the ankle area. Other than that, it has been a great shoe for my tempo runs. But I wish they removed the excess foam for V2 so it could be better for speed works.

Can y’all review the Puma Fast-R Nitro Elite?
Picked up a pair of these for my daughter to use in faster workouts, with the SB2 for everything else. $95!

That's a good looking shoe
Loved Version 1. I think you did too. Is this a downgrade?
A year later, would you recommend getting this shoe for $100?
The Luigi outtake at the end 🤣
$200 or $220? Others reporting the higher amount. Loved V1 at sub 6 paces, thought this might be an improvement. Darn....
We were originally told $200, so it may have changed?

The star 😂
You guys should have a shirt that says "got cush?" Lol

Buy chunky Adidas my man always cush always allround always double lives as lifestyle/beater

Yikes! $200 for a tempo day shoe. Not for me but great review. That instant replay was hilarious. I 😂😂😂
Have 500 miles in this shoe. Defintely most versatile shoe I ever had. Would not race in it.
Most versatile but won't race in it?

@@geert574 If they're elderly, I'm Methuselah lol.
Sounds like I’d but endorphin pro 2 and save.
