    Pork belly cabbage rice is another one of my childhood dishes. Grandma would steam the rice until fully cooked. But it is much easier to use a rice cooker instead.

    Hi Busy Daddy, do we have to cook the rice in the pan/wok first? I see lots of recipes and they just put the rice directly in rice cooker

      Hi. You don't need to fry the rice in the pan/wok first. But by doing so, you add an extra layer of flavour to the dish.

      Cabbage will produce its own water. So, use less water than the 1:1 ratio. But I can't tell you how much less water to use. Need to try it out once then adjust accordingly the next time you cook it again. To start, try using 270g water. Hope this helps.

      Hi. According to Google, 1 cup of rice = 195g. 😊😊😊

    You didnt say how much water to put in rice cooker so very hard to follow.

      Hi. Try using less water to compansate for the water in the cabbage and pork. It is difficult to say how much less as it depends on the amount of water that the cabbage and pork produce. 10% less water than usual would a good starting point. Hope this helps.
