Just bolted a Big Air Pro on my Beta 300rr. Results I've got on my YZ125/250 have been impressive with the standard 38 Pro. Only carb on the market better than a properly setup Keihin
Only? Well, "better" is highly subjective. I have a YZ125X buddy that prefers the character of the Pro over the more potent tune he ran in an insert metering block for the Keihin AS. I run the new more potent carb version of the block. With either one, the performance increase is comparable to a larger displacement.
The torque screw makes a huge difference on how lean and rich the bottom end is off the crack of the throttle and while keeping it 1/4 throttle going down a trail, up a hill or just down the road. Huge difference. Have been playing around with mine for weeks now on my 03 rm250
The smart carbs have a lean spot typically off the bottom. I think the factory team that runs them does a lot of work to them to get them to run like that. I hop on a lot of peoples bikes for what I do and every single one with a smart car, has a lean spot that a lot of people just don’t recognize.
I run like 6 different lectron on KTM XCW and KTM XC and 2 YZ 250 YZ 125 Rm250 I’m telling you h series and then billetrons , they were good but now I’m currently run the pro on my 22 yz 250 wood and trails set up that thing is a KTM killer 😂 is so good I’m selling the original Kehin carb with 1 hour of use !
this lectron has more way to be adjusted but smartcarb is easier to adjust the rod.. similar principal behind both carbs.. I did not run them back to back
SC2 still seems to be the better option. Easy needle adjustment is huge. Had an old Lectron, and it was a massive PITA to adjust the needle. The new ones are better but can never be as good as SC2 because of the patent.
The lectron is only a minor inconvenience initially then you never have to adjust the rod again. The sc2 is lacking the other two circuits the pro has so you get to constantly move around the rod to move where it runs poorly since you have no other adjustment. Being locked into the slope of the rod with no other adjustment is a huge disadvantage. You would be pleasantly surprised if you tried the new pro.
i agree man my last older lectron was a pain in the butt to tune and the needle valve stripped and they wouldn't do anything about it and i had 10 hours on the bike if that,
I was literally in your shoes not too long ago. Had 2 h series carb and preferred the keihin all day every day. I got sent a 39mm big air pro and a 38mm pro carb. They have the slightest edge over a well tuned keihin. But that slight edge is a lot of money for sure. Not everyone will benefit from it but if you live on the west coast and are going the smart carb route i recommend the pro lectron carb
Keeping the Lectron slightly rich doesn’t kill any of the bottom end in my experience. Also I really enjoy the fuel economy and always at different elevations. If you ride one area only and can fully dial in a PWK vs spending the money for a Lectron. That makes a ton of sense.
Why do these jet less carbs make an exaggerated gurgle/sputter at like 1/16 throttle whilst under load? I have an sc2 on my beta 300 and can hear this lectron does the same thing. Any feed back would be much appreciated.
Great video I have tested all the different carbs and am also getting great results with the pro.
thanks for sharing!
Thanks Rado! Glad to see the shoulder is better
thanks bro, appreciate it! Thank God I am back on bike!

Can you tell more about the result? I also own a beta. I jetted it with suzuki needle, wondering if these carb are really better than a jetted keihin.

Did you do the 36 or 38mm? I am looking at a billetron pro for my 300rr too.

yes it does respond quite well to the adjustment of the torque screw
Awesome video. Exactly what I was looking for to convince me to buy one!
glad you found it helpful, thanks!
Why didn’t you mention SmartCarb 2 at all? How does it compare to that?
Because they’re trash that only hipsters on ig like
Also came here for this
I had one on yz250 and it ran really good. I like to try new things, did not see the point to bring it up since we are doing Lectron now
@@dirtniron that answers my first question. But how do they compare?

That riding area looks amazing. That must be California. Ride safe and lets all enjoy San Francisco Super Cross today!
yes, Socal! Thanks bro

Don’t
Sell the kehin lol that makes no sense
hey Luis, you must really love them! Glad to hear that brother. BTW, your garage is pretty rad ;)
i just purchased that billetron big air aswell for my 1991 CR500 in a 2008 CRF frame has anyone else put on in their 500 if so how did you like it
How does it compare to the SMART carb 2 ???
this lectron has more way to be adjusted but smartcarb is easier to adjust the rod.. similar principal behind both carbs.. I did not run them back to back
I wish you would have shown the adjustments you had to make
1/4 turn on the rod at the time and back on riding till it felt best.. kinda boring process
Why dont you ever place the cost of your parts? Are you glad you did the upgrade?
Awesome! What year is your 300XC?
2017 first year counterbalance

I had a lectron, not the newest model but the one before that, and I wasn't super impressed. I myself prefer a well jetted pwk airstriker

these are really good comments guys, appreciate it!
@dirtniron appreciate your channel, brother, and I'm glad to see you've been healed up and back to riding. Thanks for sharing with us.

You need your hearing checked this thing did gurgle or sputter once lol
@@jamesoso259 ok
@@jamesoso259i can only assume he's talking about that 6stroking sound when the bike pulls onto the road or when its being putted about
you guys have better ears than me, also I need to repack my silencer.
@@jonnoMotoyeah it had load on it in 6th gear lol not one sputter to be heard
