I wish I has the Penn State football post game special they did after this game.. I saw it on TV and when they got to the 4th quarter, the commentator made a statement that probably never before has a single player made such a difference in a game, as Alabama's Derrick Thomas. He literally made every defensive play in the 4th quarter. Pretty classy way they did it
Thanks for posting this video. A younger Bama fan asked me if I could remember a player that can impact the game as much as Tim Williams. I said oh yes, Derrick Thomas was like Williams and he hit like Foster. DT is Bama's GOAT. RIP DT
Glad to share. I can't remember another time when I've seen one player dominate a game to the extent that Thomas dominated this one. You know you're witnessing true greatness in action.
Without Derrick Thomas, this Alabama team could have had a losing season. He alone won this game. He had a blocked punt and blocked FG in that comeback win vs. KY. He had five sacks vs Texas A&M. He blocked two FGs vs Army in the Sun Bowl. in 1987 he had three sacks and a blocked punt vs Auburn in a loss. He was incredible!
Curry's teams had tons of injuries. This team would have been better had Jelks and Humphrey played and Smith had not gotten hurt. Alabama had double-digit leads in the LSU and Ole Miss games.

I was at this game. I was a freshman in high school. Hard to believe that that has now been 30 years ago!

Tim Marsh he was incredible. However losing Bobby Humphrey and Gene Jelks for the season didn't help much.
I was in the fifth grade when this game was played, and my dad took our family to it. It was amazing to watch! Loved DT!

8 years old-that was my first “big” Alabama game to attend.
I was there too! Roll Tide! Was about to turn 11
Derrick Thomas was a man possessed that day👍
DT came to ball that day
Someone on State's team must have said something to DT. Don't tug on Superman's cape.
This is what happens when you play against Alabama. Instead of the cream puffs like Rutgers or Maryland
and two years earlier the Nittany Lions Trucked Bama 23-3 at Bama......
