Out of all the TH-cam methods for installing solid tires, this is the ONLY method that worked for me. Thanks Jed for sharing this with us.

How is this video 10x better than the actual company’s TH-cam video good shit

10 minutes and back tire on no problem. This method is more efficient than the zip ties, which kept breaking. Now on to the front tire. Thanks so much for the video. 😊

Good point. The zip tie method is important for tires that are solid, you just need the extra thick zip ties. Glad the other method helped though. Thank you.

I can honestly say I would not have completed this task without this video. I almost gave up, and then came back to TH-cam to look for other ideas and found this one. Wish I would have found this video first. Thank you.

Nice idea. I just put a solid tire on my Gotrax GLV 2 and it was the hardest thing I have ever done. I used the zip tie method and finally able to get it on.

Thanks so much for this different way to install the honeycomb tire. There was absolutely no way I would’ve gotten it on otherwise because the “recommended” way wasn’t working. I had the tire on in 5 minutes following your advice.

Three sessions of trying the traditional method with the help of 2 other people, and we could not get it done.
I was about to pay mechanic $50, but this tutorial absolutely saved me.
    You made it SO easy!
    Thank you so much, dude!
Now how difficult will it be to take it off? 🤣

So I want to thank you so much. I battled with it for 30 min then found your video. 10 min both tires done!!!! I added a hole in the plywood for the axle to keep the rim flat and it went right on!!!

Im watching this video a second time. Its a absolute must to use the large washers. I tried using the smaller ones and destroyed some of the tire due to the hot screw and spinning drill bit. Also try to be mindful of where you place the screws because too close and the threads damage the rim.

Very good sir. I got the old one off pretty easy but the new one was winning. Will be buying some screws tomorrow and beat the tire then. 😊.
    Update.. worked like a charm

I’m not gonna lie, I would have never gotten my rear tire on if I never found your video. Considering the fact the rear tire has no holes in the middle of it for zip ties. I almost cried trying to put it on with bare strength. Thank you! This video is a life saver!

Cut hole in plywood and dropped disc brake side down and used the 3 long screws to hold her down.
Used my pry bar and she went right on and I set it in rim with screwdriver thru the holes.
    Thanks very much
    YOUR idea is awesome..

Thanks man, as all the other comments, only way doable by one person. Its a very difficult task and your method with the screws is like adding 3 (super strong) hands. I did it on the rear wheel of a ninebot max. Used hex head lag screws 5/16" x 4 and 4.5 in length on 3/4" plywood over a couple of 2×4 as I wanted the screws catching over them when passing thru the plywood. Thanks again, you are a genious!

That is a different way to do that Great job btw! we boiled our and used 4 big zip ties and dawn dish soap. I conveniently had a knot that rotted thru my deck and fit my axel perfect so we just put a lil body weight on and tightened the zip ties until done took about 5 mins total not including boiling time! :D

THIS WORKED !!!!! Dude! You are my fucking hero! I am extremely mechanically inclined and I tried all the other methods (4 hours wasted) and they sucked! This worked plus I did boil the tire to soften it. I was working with the rear drive wheel on my Hover one dynamo scooter and did not want to Take the whole thing apart to disconnect the wiring so I had to angle the wheel out and keep it close to the scooter. I slipped a nice piece of plywood with the proper holes and groove under it and used your method. Fucking awesome!

    • @JedsGarage
      @JedsGarage  3 ปีที่แล้ว

I drilled a hole in the wood below for the tire to sit in. If I was to do it again I would have used longer screws to force it down. The screws I used were 4 inch screws and needed about another half inch to reach the wood below.
