@@ozfunghino really necessarilly the case if you have solid tires there's more people that own scooter with solid tires than without and nothing happens
Well guys, as the one who suffered through all of this I strongly recommend you doing this way. But first just put the tyre to microwave oven fro 3-5 minutes - it will soften it and the whole deal turns in a very easy process! First I bought two usual tubeless tires from Amazon and suffered from I was frustrated putting them on. Ended wasting one tyre and managed to put the other one. But just couldn't bead it right, so finally after two weeks of Uber and wasted time ordered solid one and put it from the second try. Just using this video. THANK YOU, GUYS!
Everyone needs to know that the solid tire needs to boil at least for 1 hour! This worked for me very very good! 10-15 minutes, you need to be Hercules!
I microwaved it! Used three tire bars off Amazon silicon spray put it on like a gyroscope best explain at them just use your strength I could do it in 39 seconds now
only 89 subscribers yet putting out better content then youtubers with 100k plus. i have a 2022 etwow gt sport coming in a few weeks and im worried about the eventual tire change. this video will help a ton.
Out of frustration I turned to TH-cam for assistance. Your video helped me realize that I needed a third pry bar, and that I never used soap. Done multiple scooters, but never solid tire conversion. These really are no joke
This video was everything I needed, I’ve literally studied this for a week and done it! Took a whole day to gather up supplies and 2 more adults to help!
Worked like a charm! Takeaways: heat, soap, 3 tire irons, pull tire up onto rim while standing on the rim. I ended up using my 3D printer heat bed to heat up the tire. Set it to 110C and placed the tire on it, 10 minutes each side. Took maybe 2 minutes to actually pull the tire onto rim using this method.
I just spent a half hour of prying with a big husky flat head. No heat or soap and its not on there right. This definitely helped and although i have no heat i do have soap! Also i took the motor out for the front made it easier!
Genius. After 20 mins of futile attempting I found this video. After watching it 2 mins later it was installed. I didn't have tyre levers so used 3 hefty screwdrivers and went on easy. Cheers mate
After trying to install a solid tire on my scooter for 3 days, this is the video that helped me 😅 after trying this method for 5 minutes the tire finally went on lol but I did boil the tire multiple times before
Great video. I did however boil my tire for close to an hour. Also used a good amount of Dawn dish soap to pry it on. Trick was to get one side on, flip it over and do the other side with the pry bar and screwdriver. I used a solid tire to replace the back tire on my son’s Phantom GoGo scooter from Costco. Getting the original tire off was hard. Ended up cutting it off.
Glad i found this video before the second go around. I only did the rear since the front tube was still ok. Unfortunately, I got a flat today after a very long day at work and needed to change the front one to a solid tire. Did the first one with brute strength and what seemed like a whole bottle of dish soap... this way proved to be MUCH easier!
Thank you !! This video was a life saver. I cannot imagine how I could have done this without this technique. Even so, I still needed two more people to stand on the tire, one person at the back and another near the front. I was not coordinated enough to do it alone like he did. THen I had to get on my hands and knees and use the 3 pry bars. Using the bars just like he has is critical to success.
Thank you, this worked great! I used the three tire levers and basically stood up and put my whole body weight on the rim while stretching the tire. Took no more than 2 minutes.
Thank you! Very well done, also I used the holes in the solid tire to align the tire in the rim and it worked much better than the tire irons. Thanks, very helpful!

This video is a lifesaver... heat that wheel up (sink w/ stopper add boiling water, let sit for 20+ mins) and use WD-40 inside the rim and tire for any chance in getting it on. 3 pry bars are absolutely required. Good luck everyone 👍
I just did this. I’m pretty fit but was working alone and it was impossible so I boiled the tire, put thick foam on the ground wheel with soap inside and rim on foam then motor hub on top with wire still connected. I stepped “gently” on the hub and slowly moved my body weight until about 3/4 of it was in, then 1 final move with my big screwdriver with duct tape on the end not to scratch the rim and “snap”. Then made sure all the holes seemed symmetrical and equally spaced from the rim. It’s not easy to put these hard tires on; hence, Hercules levers X 3 Good luck guys !!
By far the best method I have found! I have used the zip tie method which worked well, but I needed a new method to replace the front tire on a Gotrax GXL. The wheel is solid and there is no place to fasten zip ties. I didn’t feel like boiling the tire and still was able to replace with ease. Great video! Thank you!

A great technique indeed, i've personally installed four solid tires similar to the ones shown in the video. And another two that were about 0.5cm smaller in diameter than they should be to fit the rim, thus requiring more stretching. This method makes installing solid tires somewhat trivial. Just make sure you have the right tools for the job.

Thank you my man. I haven’t changed mine yet. The motor cable comes out the back (like your front) so now i know what to do. I just have to order the tire now. But most people say solid isn’t as good as inflated. Then others say the solids with holes perform just as good as inflated. So ima toss up and go with solid holes & see how it goes.

Lol, Boiled my tire about 15 minutes, used long screwdrivers as the ones that came with the tire were too small and useless... Took me about 6 hours, lots of sweat and effort, destroying both my hands and feeling like giving up 1000 times... finally I got it in, and now the tire is not fully aligned with the rim, but my tire does not have holes that go through so setting it 100% straight has been a complete and total nightmare. If anyone has any ideas on how to do this? Tire is cold now and Ive been trying to force it into place but it just won't budge...
Guys I really struggled changing this on my boys scooter!! I kind of underestimated it 😢 but after watching your video I had it done in minutes so thank you 👌
4:50 When you undo the 6 allen bolts in the wheel you can push the stator out of the rotor, then you can just work with the rim without the cable. They are tight, so use a good quality right size allen key. Then take the wheel and tap the axle on the floor to separate the parts.
I bought the solid tires from Amazon, and after taking away the old punctured ones, I was trying just to see if it fits or not, there was no way this solid tire is going around this wheel, but then I saw that you need to dip it into boiled water for 10 minutes and then it will be possible to stretch it around the wheel, I did it eventually, and I think it was worth the effort. It cost twice the price for the tires in labor if you want some shop to do it for you.
I have just completed a rear wheel air tyre to solid tyre on a pure air pro v2 with 10 inch wheels. Your video was very helpful, but... how did you make it look so easy! Took be a good 25 minute to complete the rear wheel. I have to keep the motor power cable connected, only giving me about 1 inch of distance between the wheel and the scooter frame while trying to lever on the hot soapy tyre lol. Its was a hot soapy struggle, im glad I will not have to do it again...... oh wait.. the front wheel
This is my exact problem on the Air pro v2 😢😂 how did you manage it I’m struggling did you leave to soak for over 20M and did you need another body to help
@Dman i left the tyre in boiling hot water for about 25 minutes, while the water was boiling i used a lubricant on the rims of the wheels. Then, using heat proof gloves , I picked up the boiling tyre and placed it on top of the rim, I held one side of the wheel with my hand and used my foot to force down on the other side until it popped in place. It's pretty difficult on the Pro V2 as the motor cable is very short, I was very worried about causing damage to the cable bit
@Dman good luck with it, one it's done its done 😀 I know someone who filled his air tyre with expanding and hardening foam instead of changing to a solid tyre, could be something to consider
I just installed 2 solid tires on my Hiboy S2 Max and they were pretty easy. Getting the old tires and tubes off was actually harder than installing the solid tires because of the valve stem on this model. No heating or lube and only one tire iron. If you've installed motorcycle tires, these are pretty cake.
I've been putting off changing my tire for about a week now because it's such a pain in the ass. And most bicycle shops will not even fuck with scooters, so your stuck doing it yourself whether you like it or not.
Good evening first of all I thank you for this video but I made a mistake I installed the tire in the opposite side I need to know if it’s ok or not I mean what’s is the problem if it will stay like that thanks ?

Getting the old tires and tubes off was actually harder than installing the solid tires because of the valve stem on this model. No heating or lube and only one tire iron. If you've installed motorcycle tires, these are pretty cake.
I've been putting off changing my tire for about a week now because it's such a pain in the ass. And most bicycle shops will not even fuck with scooters, so your stuck doing it yourself whether you like it or not.
I’ve been putting my tires on off as well 😂 now seeing this and only having 2 levers I’m terrified to try to start 😂
Must I remove the brake rotor (?metal round on wheel) in order to remove the rear tire?
Going to soils rubber tires was the best thing I did the profile is a lil smaller but with it not to get flats
Good evening first of all I thank you for this video but I made a mistake I installed the tire in the opposite side I need to know if it’s ok or not I mean what’s is the problem if it will stay like that thanks ?
Could u use A heat gun on the tires?
Of all the methods, yours looks easier!👍
phew just done mine, that was a battle between man and machine!
Well done! Thank you very much for your comment 💚🤘🛴
