      True. I put that poor tire and rim through a few different experiments that did not work as well as this one.

    This goddamn he is a smart dude this is the first person I ever seen do it this way that is a clever cookie that means the tire won't jiggle around so you easily torque down the tire evenly You screw down screw down screw down screw down You do it in star pattern and then you put your tire irons in where it's oh wow that's clever

    this is definitely different.
    seems easier just to boil tires, lubricate rim and inside of tire.
    little muscle and voila...
    lml, i think i speak for all mechanics when i say
    nobody like removing or putting on solid tyres.
    great tutorial.

    Mine came with solid rubber tires (HiBoy S2 Pro) and they are rock hard with hardly any flex at all. I'd like to replace them with honeycomb tires but they look like a pain to remove 😩.

    Just use a microwave and heat the tyre up the use tyre leavers.. heating the tyre will make it soft and easy to move...

    Wonder if you could put the zip tie through the hole in the tire instead of the inside of the tire, that way at the end it’s not in the way??

    • @JedsGarage
      @JedsGarage  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      That’s a good thought. I have another video where I do use the holes except I have had a few people ask how to put a tire on if it had no holes. Some tires are solid all the way through. So this video will work for tires with or without holes. Plus, this video is good if you want to avoid tearing through the holes on accident.

    Your brain work too good. Man boil some water, let the tire sit in it for 10 minutes and grab 2 pry bars and pull that mf right on

    How do you cover hole left by valve when changing to solid tyres?

    • @JedsGarage
      @JedsGarage  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Good question but that never was a problem with our 3 scooters that use to have valves and air tires.

    • @doublahh
      @doublahh 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Cut the old valve stem at the base of the inter tube and insert into the hole.

    When you buy a one of those tires does it come wit air already in there ?

    • @JedsGarage
      @JedsGarage  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Good question. It’s actually solid all of the way through. No need to pressurize with air.

    I note you said "careful not to damage the tire" around the 4:10 mark. I also note that it looks like the tire is ripped right as you said that. Did the stretching of the tire following your method here cause the tire to rip?

    • @JedsGarage
      @JedsGarage  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      You have a good eye. That tear was actually caused by a different and previous method I tried that failed that I did not publish. The tear in this video was not caused by this method. This method is more gentle.

    So, what I’m getting from this is…
    1. Have a work table that you don’t mind drilling into. (Seems like a standard apartment in the city furniture piece, that everyone has.)
    2. Have 9” wood blocks. (You know, those ones that are just lying around.)
    3. Go buy washers and screws.
    This is effective, yes.
    But is it a practical solution for city dwellers without vehicles or workshops and an abundance of tools?
    No.
