This video is another reason why Teddy is the best watch TH-camr. Provides real information and presents many different options based upon price points.
It's just a long advert for his business like all his videos
Excellent recommendations Teddy! Once again, Jon came through with a terrific gift for my son. I am purchasing the new Mido TV watch in blue next week. This is my fourth watch purchased from your team. I am certain he will wear it for many years to come. Please extend my appreciation to Jon and your team for their outstanding work.
Casio F-91W. End of discussion.
It won’t impress a woman! 😂
The speedmaster definitely got more popular with suits after the bracelet update. A lot of leather options too.
Hey Teddy, I just left Cleveland. Went there with my family. We're from Germany on vacation in the US. Only because of your Q & A, where you answered "Why Cleveland", I had the idea to visit on our trip. It's been really nice. The old industrial charme meeting modern architecture. Old steel, new glass - just loved it. The Brewdog was also very nice. 😊 Thanks for the indirect tip and in general the great content here on TH-cam. Cheers! Michael
That’s awesome! Hope you enjoyed your time here in the USA!
Ive worn my Speedmaster on a leather strap with a suit on a number of occasions and it's never looked or felt out of place. Amazingly versatile watch. Love the content Teddy.
Always appreciate your inputs...Thanks
The Explorer really is all you’d ever need.
This video is supposed to be a list of watches that are all "all you'd ever need".
@@DavidRon I get that, but some of the watches on this list, IMO, do not come close to fitting that bill. Personal preference, of course.
@@brads1545 I wonder if the difference is day to day style. Teddy is generally preppy and white collar. The explorer is better than most of these watches if your day to day wear is tactical gear and camping.
Sure the explorer dresses up ok, but it's kinda of a stretch in a suit. Sure the Tissot Gentleman dresses down okay, but it's kind of a stretch working on your motorcycle.
All you'd ever need but can never get lol
@@DavidRonI have never seen anyone in tactical gear or camping wearing a Rolex explorer for those situations. That’s G-Shock or Garmin territory.
ANY Rolex will go well with a suit.
This is a daily for someone that works in an office.
Another excellent video, please keep them coming. The Tissot gentleman in blue yes, my all around favorite.
Teddy's videos are always spot on! love these type of reviews ⏱
I really enjoyed this video! As always it was interesting in seeing your picks. I must admit that you surprised me by picking the Murph and the Speedmaster, but I can see your points of consideration for selecting both. I don’t usually rewatch a Watch video but this one is an exception. Well done!🥃
I think the VC Overseas is the most versatile (vs the Chopard or Patek) due to the inclusion of the rubber AND leather straps. Especially when you pick a more subdued dial color.
It was such a pleasure to look at this video. One more time, you did a nearly perfect one! Thank you Teddy!
Thanks Teddy. I couldn't agree more! Fantastic recommendations.
The wrist shot of the Explorer is one of the best I have ever seen. It really conveys how the watch actually wears. Most wrist shots make the 36 look way bigger than it actually is.
I noticed that too. In terms of photography, people need to back up a bit and use a longer lens. On the other hand, the case-exaggerating effects of the closer and wider angle does convey the experience of having your face close to the watch as one would when looking at your own watch. I believe it was Annie Liebovitz who liked to walk the line of a lens that's too short; whether or not the viewer understood the effects of forshortening, a brain will automatically understand that you're closer to that person's face. Same with these wrist shots. But I always think huge cases look terrible. Unless you're a linebacker, I think 38mm should be your upper ceiling. You'll end up looking like a kid wearing his dad's jacket.
Its just relative to wrist size.
I hear ya about versatility being different for each person. For me, my go to daily wear is the white dial Christopher Ward Sealander. 39mm case, 150m water resistance. Looks good on its steel bracelet, or any other strap material and colour. I've worn it on many adventures from camping, to hiking, to swimming, and it doesn't look out of place dressed up on date night.
Great list, Teddy! Love the updated Longines Conquest. Stunning watch!
Sealander is definitely one of the top versatile choices.
Sealander is like the Explorer but way cheaper!
Great list!
Love the Gentleman call-out.
In the metal SBGA413 won me over for its surprising versatility over it's brother SBGA415.
Nautilus over Aquanaut is surprising for versatility.
Might consider Chris Ward C63 and Formex Essence to add a couple micros.
Nomos Club Sport neomatik would be another great consideration if looking at the Black Bay and Longines bracket
I personally would have chosen either the Aqua Terra.or most likely the Constellation over the Speedmaster, automatic, date complication and water resistance whilst still being versatile for any situation puts them ahead for me in the Omega family
Thanks for the video, I have several of the options that you mentioned that validate my choices. I'm subscribed because I like your reasoning and helping me along this incredible journey.
Amazing composition of great watches, discussion of detail, encompassing a massive fiscal envelope, and great delivery! Really a great topic presented well. Thanks and congratulations!
I enjoyed this segment and also learned a bit from your thought process.
Several watches have been on my wish list for awhile.
Great choices and excellent quality content as always, Teddy 👍
One watch I think you missed is what Bulgari just unveiled - the new Octo Roma.
It's thin and wearable with the bracelet and a rubber strap both included in the package at msrp & an easy strap-change system incorporated into it. I think it is the very definition of versatile.
Also,😊 at $7000, it beats the pants off the Cartier Santos and gives stiff competition to the Rolex Explorer (which, ngl, is still my grail) 😊
36 mm explorer. I love that watch. So iconic. So classy. The og bond watch..❤
I have been enjoying it on my 7-inch wrist..
I think the Junghans Max Bill is very versatile - especially with the black dial. Water resistance could be better (50 m), but the fact that the case is barely there helps it blend into any environment. Works with a tux - and works with a tee.
I would say that the Zenith Chronomaster is also a wearable chronograph. Small size, thin and colours that go very well with a navy or grey suit. But furthermore a very nice collection of versatile watches.
I was about to say the same about the Zenith, specifically the Chronomaster Original
haha, I think you're right, thought of that one, too. I've got a vintage Chronomaster from yr ~2000, that I find is very dressy and chique and would probably fit into most outfits with that silver guilloché dial. However, talking about versatility, I can see this one loose ground to others just because it's maybe a bit too classy for rather casual outfits.
Hey, Teddy! Always love your videos, man. So well made and thoughtfully curated☺️ I always wait for you to post new stuff!
I have a video idea u might want to try-
Try to find some nice watches from different countries n try to review them.
Living in India, there are some brands here that might interest you, and I’m sure you Will definitely find similar from other countries as well!
As usual great video! I think the Zenith Skyline is a great fit from your final category.
Such a nice selection! Thanks
Love your recommendations ❤
Great list Teddy, you did quickly mention this watch, but the Sinn 556 range, especially the colours with the applied indices, 556IB, for example would be on my list.
Excellent selection of watches!
Great video with some amazing recommendations!! I purchased a Zodiac Jetomatic a few years ago and it has overtaken my other watches to become a daily favourite which works as a sport watch, a casual watch, you can wear it with a suit, or with shorts on a beach. It's my all rounder. In fact I was so impressed with the Jetomatic that I purchased a Super Sea Wolf 68 as my Diver which I swap back and forth with my blue dial Citizen Automatic Promaster 200M Diver. I think that the Zodiac name when you consider the types of watches they produce is very much overlooked.
Love your videos, you keep overlooking the Roamer Swiss watch brand.
GREAT VIDEO! Thank you!
Simply one of the best reviews across the spectrum. Well done again.
Great content! Would love to see a extended review of the new Tudor Black Bay 36.
Got my Explorer 40 about a month ago and absolutely love it.... The perfect watch for me
Thanks for another great video Teddy, would you please be able to answer a question for me. Is it ok to leave a chronograph running? I am tempted with the speedster but really enjoy a running second hand. Cheers Jon
Plenty of great choices.
I’m very fond of The Oris Big Crown.
Thank you.
Teddy delivers ALL the best watch picks!
Im sold on the Explorer. I’ve spent many years now wanting a Datejust and it’s been an interesting learning experience going from looking at watches to finally owning one. I love my Black Bay 36 but there’s a few details that I think the Explorer really nails. Plus it saves me money!
Enjoyed every moment of this video!
Any thin diver is versatile
What is thin?
12 mm?
Depends - if you work in an office and do the odd formal event, being able to dive hundreds of meters deep with your watch isn’t as important as a classy bezel rather than a rotating one.
@@MultiBamBamBamBamUnder 12

@@user-gz3zv5cm7wits so dainty i thought it was a ladies watch
Hey Teddy, great video! I'd love to see a side by side comparison of the new Longines Conquest vs Tudor 1926. I'd like to see them go head to head and hear your thoughts on which comes out on top.
Good video! I think having a diver Bezel is one of the most useful feature of a watch, even for most desk divers -- from cooking, to parking, to poormans gmt. Therefore the Sub has my nod as one of the most versatile watch. I am just surprised that watch brands haven't put a time bezel on non-divers yet!
Very beautiful watches all love the presentation 💪👏👍❤️❤️❤️
Awesome video!!!
Great list! However, I was surprised to not see anything from Nomos.
I think the Club sport 37mm is a viable option, but also the Ahoi line. I own the Ahoi 567 and think it works in just about any occasion (as is also marketed by the brand) - classic Tangente design but with improved water resistance and crown guards. So the Ahoi is definitely more sporty, but the size and thickness means it also works very well with buttoned up attire 🙂
Thanks Teddy!
Nice vid - I’m a one watch guy. At 12.35 - Just picked up the new 2023 Tudor BB in Champagne (I got the 41). The new series 34, 36, 39, 41 on Jubilee are amazing, curvy case every bit as nice as a DJ or Explorer. Pick your size or color, perfect GADA.
The new longines conquest is a beauty. They did a great job updating the watch. Looks way for classy for any occasion. I have the hydroconquest with the ceramic bezel and is more sporty but also could be considered as the best do it all watch.
What a great video. I've found myself going more towards this style of watch for my collection (still got dive watches in there too obvs.). I feel that lower end watches (my end) are great but could be developed without the general trend to have half-second markers on the dial and just have seconds. Appreciate that takes some out of their category of field-esque style, but would also elevate them up the ladder for the lower cost. We see this a bit more in the micro brand sphere. Would love a replication of the video with microbrand watches (e.g. Traska)
This has been your best video by far!
Love this video, that's always been my philosophy when it comes to watches. I don't want to worry about matching watches to clothes, I want to be able to pick up a watch and it not look out of place with (almost) anything I wear. That being said, I have only two watches which are the Hamilton Khaki Auto 38mm and the Certina Action Diver 38mm, both with black dials. Super versatile watches.
Très bons choix 👍🏻
@@jlzab6914 Merci :)
Really enjoy your videos Teddy
Great choices
Cannot get enough of the 36 mm Explorer…
Great video Teddy. Hard subject to tackle. All your picks were good range of styles and pricing. I don't see it possible to have ONE watch. Three maybe. 😀
Great segment❤
Great stuff Teddy Rolex explorer - Yes! But my white faced OP 39 is even more versatile I think because it flies under the radar and can be worn in public without too much anxiety. Agree about the speedy, but I think Junghans chronoscope, may be even more versatile, especially now available with sapphire glass.
I think my Sinn 556ib is a darn good contender for this category, Teddy.
Good video teddy
I'm thinking IWC Ingenieur black dial and black bay steel bezel are good options and kind of under the radar
Amazing video!
I usually wear the Murph in every occasion. But I just got a Speedmaster Reduced two tone with 18k rose gold bezel, crown and pushers Man.. the thing just pops, its a looker! You can definitely wear it in more formal occasions
Omega works best for me as a Tech person working on/around electronics because of the super high magnetic resistance and the power reserve. making them very low maintenance watches as well as super accurate. (best accuracy next to quartz)
Good VID! Please add chaptering in the future.
For Explorer quality and a lot less money - Omega Aqua Terra 2503.50.00. Picked mine up this year. Its stunning😊
I think you’re missing a key Rolex, the OP, it’s extremely versatile and has the choice of many colours, not only that, its most recent iteration has the easy link easy link system, I’d argue it has more history than the Explorer too!
Really can’t wait to see a smaller version of the new longuines Conquest. If we get a 38mm or even a 39mm that would be an amazing everyday piece.
I agree, I have the OG Conquest in 39. It's fantastic
I love that watch , not a fan of the new one.
I agree, I had the 43mm one in blue. Nice watch, but no lume made me P/X for a green Hydroconquest, now much happier. Great watch though.
Great video
This is a good list for sure
Murph and explorer are both versatile simple and timeless pieces out there good suggestions loved it❤
your videos are great... can you make one about pros and cons of watches with/without a regulator? thank you
Excellent list! I'd have to go for the JLC no date black dial....beautiful watch
Would love to see your view on the Sinn 856, a lot of the pros of the 556 but with a lot more tech packed inside!
I really like the looks of the 39mm OP, I wish Tudor would pick up the production of that model. Maybe have a little selection of different dial options, both in colors and layout.
I bought a seiko spre black face with gold outline as a graduation gift for myself in may and I love it. Wear it to work every day
That’s why I love my SMPc midsize. Works with a suit, works with tshirt and shorts!
I like your opinions on watches very knowledge gentlemen
Thank you 👍👍👍
Hey teddy I'm looking at the Seiko 5 range for a sort of do everything watch too I have a Casio duro I was thinking of getting one of the field style models rather than the dreskx style which of those 2 would you recommend
The Murph is such a beauty😍 wearing my 38mm whilst watching this
What strap do you wear it with? The leather one it came with was too stiff for me so I'm currently wearing it on a white rubber strap (beautiful) but looking for some more options
@@jorjoperalta I just wear it with the leather strap, I agree it is very stiff and was hoping it would loosen over time but haven’t noticed much of a difference. Granted I don’t wear it super often
I love the Murph, that's what id go for for me!
My choices for versatile watches :
- Hamilton Khaki Field auto
- New Longines Conquest
- Longines Spirit (and Zulu)
- Tudor Ranger
- GS springdrive (black or white)
- Omega AT
- Rolex OP 124300
The Tissot Gentlemen is a fantastic watch. Hard to beat in the price range
I own an overseas dual timer but I wouldn't call it very versatile because it is extremely loud and flashy on the wrist. When I wear it, people notice because of it's finish. I just got a horage supersede and I find it to be extremely subtle because of the finishing and the diver bezel. It's still an integrated bracelet watch but I wear it almost every day. Before I got this piece, I was wearing a blancpain leman dual timer and my zenith captain elite dual timer for most days (yes I love gmt and dual time complications). Both of those watches are extremely versatile and understated. I also have the new version of the alpinist with the compass insert, I brought a bracelet for it as well which I like more than the strap that came with it.
Great list as always Teddy.
A vote to include the Sinn 104 as one of the most versatile watches.
That Longines conquest is a BEAUTIFUL watch.
Happy birthday teddy
I use an Orient RA-AR0003L as an everyday watch since it wears pretty nicely for most purposes, whether casual or official. I do use a G-shock DW-9052 I got as a gift as a beater, but the sapphire on the Orient really gives me peace of mind. My Orient has more or less kept time within 30s over an entire month, which is ~1s every day averaged.
That new Conquest is definitely on my radar, that green dial is georgous
Picked up my fist luxury watch ever in the Cartier Santos. I love it so much, really recommend.
For me, a versatile watch has to have some thing that will let you track time. Unless, of course, it’s a chronograph rotating bezels are perfect. If you’re making a pizza or timing your coffee brew in the morning the Alpinist is perfect, not only can you use it as a compass (Boy Scout compass trick) you can set the north marker to your minute hand and time anything! it’s a beautiful dress/dive/tool watch 200 m of water resistance. The rotating bezel is an absolute plus! Please don’t call the cyclops a cyclops:) it’s really more of a dewdrop. It looks like a drop of rain. I have a rather large watch collection. I wear my Seiko Alpinist all the time. For me it is the ultimate versatile everything watch.
…in my humble opinion:)
Teddy, thanks for the great content. Please keep up the good work.
I love your videos!
The light blue Oris Cervo Volante must be one of the most beautiful still-affordable watches available in 2023.
Really great watch ❤
Nice vid! I desperately wish that JLC would make a 12h internal bezel for the Polaris to make it a quasi-GMT.
I bought the BB 36 2 years ago, love it the most. I like the addition of the Jubilee and was disappointed at the time about the ETA, but I knew it was modified and it will be a lot less expensive to service. Awesome that they added the new movements though.
The Gentleman needs a 38mm version. As is the new Conquest. Just putting it out there because I know Tissot and Longines listens. On a related side note, the Murph and the Spirit is definitely on my radar.
I just got into watches again. I was planning on starting a nice collection, but I ended up just getting 1 very expensive watch, and now I’m not buying another one for a while. I didn’t think that expensive watch would be available for several years but I got the opportunity to get it in 6 weeks and jumped on it. I’ll be a 1 watch man for a while now
Thanks for re-igniting my crave for the 36 mm Explorer. 😅
Wearing the Khaki Murph right now and it's just phenomenal, you can just wear it anywhere for any occasion, it just disappears while being such a gorgeous watch.
I just visited Paulin in Glasgow Scotland 🏴 . Thanks for the tip teddy I picked up a commuter
