I didn't want to pay more than $500 per watch for my three watch watch collection. I got a Hamilton khaki king day/date on a ColaReb strap, a Junghans Max Bill, and a Lorier Neptune SIII. I'm very happy with them. This channel was very helpful in making my selections, so thanks for that!

Great taste. I love the Junghans Max Bill / Meister. Khaki field always pops in my mind as a nice watch. I didn't know the Lorier, but it looks amazing. Reminds me a bit of Oris Diver 65. Great collection. Enjoy.

I just bought the exact Cartier tank you mentioned, except it was the smaller version because it was a wedding gift for my wife who I married this past weekend. She cried when she opened the box. It was her first high-value watch. I'm so glad this timepiece will be part of our family and passed down over time. It's great to see you feature this watch here. I also did an unboxing on my page if anyone is interested!

Don’t play it safe. Buy the cheap watch, get the funky one, get one that doesn’t look good but can take punishment, get one that’s too delicate, get the one that really doesn’t go with anything, get a formal watch and wear it with jeans, buy the one you will regret buying. Then take the same energy and use it everywhere else.

For me, I am not as sure that the Orient Bambino is ugly as much as a fatigued appearance.
I value mine and find it to be be fun but think that its appeal has limitations.
Though more expensive, an alternative at $945 is the Pitzmann First Edition, which is nicer than the Seiko SPB113.
Unlike the Bambino, or at least Version 2, the hands are blued by heating and has an enamel dial.
Definitely more expensive than the Bambino but even better value with a Sellita movement, but that dial and those hands scream intrigue.

❤️ great vid Teddy. My current under $1000 (in total) watch collection: 5600e g shock for outdoors and adventure, Hamilton pilot pioneer for everyday and a vintage 60s 35mm Enicar dress watch... the best of the lot is the Hamilton. Its slim, great finishing and dial, lovely accurate movement that's a joy to wind every few days.... just the perfect "one watch" if you needed only one... stunner
It's a humble collection as I decided to sell my Omegas and IWC Mark 16 to keep things simple. But I'm sure I'll get something luxurious again some day...

  • @seanzealony9499

    Great content Teddy.
I used to wear a Timex Ironman for my beater but just changed to a Hamilton Khaki scuba. I got that on a bracket but swapped it for a Nato strap.
I’ve a dress watch which is a Citizen eco drive which I’ve had for 8 yrs and not missed a beat.
Recently purchased an Omega Railmaster( Seamaster co axil master chrono…yes that long winded title for a watch) on a nylon strap and am blown away with the quality.
Being brushed stainless it doesn’t attract attention & I can wear where & when I want in UK.
At moment in London and other cities the criminal elements have sussed what to look for in watches & robberies are common.
    Keep up the great work

    3. Cartier Santos Large

  • @danielknudsen6260

My three watch collection is really a two watch collection since two of my watches fills the same purpose:
1.Rolex Oyster perpetual 39 | 114300 white dial on oyster bracelet
    2. Grand Seiko SBGA211 "Snowflake" on a leather strap
    3. Omega Speedmaster cal. 3861 Sapphire
I love white dials and prefer wearing white dials for pretty much every occasion, so I mostly alter between the Rolex and Grand Seiko. I love that I can switch between the two white dials, but keep things interesting for me because of having a leather strap on the Grand Seiko, and Bracelet on the OP. The Omega Speedmaster is my go to sporty watch

I have to say that the Longines Dolce Vita is a great dress watch with the sector dial and even has a date that blends well into the dial. The Seamaster 300M is another start performer. I have seen and do like the Ranger as for what you are getting for the price with the MT5402 chronometer movement is very good, I could be tempted at some point. Some watches that could be options in a few categories could be the Tudor BB 36 black dial and one of my favourites the Omega Constellation Globemeaster.

  • @MastinoNapoletano420

Great video! Great ideas! My 3 watch collection is a Longines Avigation A7 1935 black dial. This is my conversation piece. My dress piece. With the cocked dial having 12 at 1 and being one of the only if not the only single button chrono(start, stop, reset all in 1 button) ever produced, a lot of people notice it. My sport watch is a Casio Pathfinder, my cheapest watch. It has a compass, Barometer, Thermometer, and Altimeter built into it as well as sunrise and sunset. It's a Casio G-shock on steroids that is solar charged so it never dies as long as there is light. My casual wear/beater is a GS Spring Drive SBGA413. I was looking to get a Rolex or Omega but screw Rolex right now and Omega was just too cliche. My AD started carrying GS and I saw this one and tried it on and it fit perfectly, had the perfect weight. The sweeping second hand is pretty nifty and the movement is really nice. My only gripe is it doesn't have lume but I wear it to work everyday in lit conditions so it's not like I am missing it. Thanks for sharing Teddy! Have a good one!

I’ve had the watch virus for about 10 years now, and I started humbly with fashion watches like Guess collection, Police, Royal London and Rotary. All 3-500 bucks max. I had about 9 watches, and I loved them all. More recently I’ve gotten more deeply infected and have given away all my fashion watches (except my big Police) and have upgraded my game to a three watch collection, which will probably go to four. My dress watch is a stainless Cartier Tank, in the large Automatic edition called The Must. It’s on a stainless bracelet. Looks great on my 7.5 inch wrists. That said I wish it were thinner. I tend to roll my sleeves up when I wear it cuz otherwise it kind of gets caught. My sport watch is the Longines Hydro-Conquest in blue. I just loved the color and the boldness. I opted for the 43mm over the 41. I’m a big guy and I can “pull it off” without it looking too clunky (at least that’s what the salesman said.) and he had no dog in that hunt since either size was the same price. I confess that it’s a lower price substitute for a blue Seamaster 300, but I just couldn’t pull the trigger on a watch twice as expensive just yet. Besides recently, every time I buy myself a watch. my wife wants one too. 🙉 For my “beater” I own a Tissot Chemin Des Tourelles Powermatic 80 in two tone. It was my 1st automatic watch and I love the way it looks. It can kind of stand in as my dress watch or go with me to the office (I’m a chiropractor) and is dressy enough to multitask but not take the place of my Longines dive watch, So I have a bit of cross functionality there. At this stage of my hobby, as a newbie, I’m kind of searching for a thread of meaning which I want to run through my collection endeavors, aside from just a hunger for more and more expensive pieces which I find alluring. I tend to stay away in principle from “unused capacity” in a watch, in the sense that as much as I love the way they look, I wouldn’t probably buy a Navitimer or a Longines Flyback. Not unless I’d plan to learn to use it! Something inside of me thinks it’s a waste of unused capacity! I feel the same about cars and sound equipment! Buy something you like within your use profile! Even if I could afford one I wouldn’t buy a Lamborghini since there’s no place to drive it! For me it’s about looks, and function, and reliability. I may go with independents some day, once I know more, and I fall in love with somebodies story. Love to hear some feedback on my thoughts.

Love these scenario videos, very fun thought exercises and way to consider collecting.
For me, I think a G-Shock would end up in the casual/beater category in each tier, just moving up the G-Shock tier each time. To end with a $4k + MR-G as a “daily beater” is quite the thought.

My son wants to start a watch collection, so this is very helpful. His dress watch choice is the Sternglas Asthet White Dial, sports watch is the Seiko 5 GMT Orange Dial, but for a beater he wants the Laco Pilot Aachen, so all 3 for around $1400.

    1) Orient Kanno
    2) Orient Defender
    3) Orient Open Heart

    1) Tank Cartier
    2) Sea Master Diver

Of my current collection (which is more than 3), I would make a 3WC with the following categories: casual, sport/diver, statement. I don't have a big need for a true dress watch, so it's not something I would wear very often. (I have a vintage Wakmann from my dad that I can wear if I wanted a traditional dress watch, at 34mm handwind)
Casual: Farer Lander (on a faded orange barton canvas strap). Fun colors, super wearable.
Sport/Diver: Sinn U50. tegimented case is ready to take on everything.
Statement: Christopher Ward Bel Canto. I was lucky enough to get the original blue model, and I love it. It's such a unique piece of art, almost overshadowing the timepiece portion, since the time is actually fairly difficult to read at a glance. But who cares. It's gorgeous! DING!

I think a truly comprehensive collection requires a minimum of five watches:
    1. Dressed up/formal
    2. Dressed down/business
    3. Everyday/casual
    4. Sport/light contact
    5. Work/rough contact

I do own a Marathon GSAR and a Seiko SARB035. I’d need to pick up a dress watch to round up the collection.
I was considering Seiko Dolce. Mainly because of the value.
Regardless of the budget I’d be putting around 50% on my daily driver.
For some it would be a sports or a dress watch. It just depends on what you like and what you do for living.
And splitting the remaining money between the other two watches.

I was just thinking of this topic when this video came up on my feed. I'm looking at a lesser expensive Seiko Presage that you talked about a while back. I tried it on and loved it. But there is also this great watch store in New York City that I walk past regularly and there is a Bucherer that looks almost exactly like the Seiko. At about 20x the price, way out of my price range. Only a fashionista would tell the difference but most other people wouldn't at a casual glance. But I thought if I could get it, I would still keep and love the Seiko. Not as a beater but simply because it's just more practical and sometimes, more appropriate, to wear a lesser expensive watch.
Keep up the great work. I hope to purchase the Seiko from your website within the coming weeks.

My three watch collection is a Swatch group doll house. Consisting of three of my favourite watches from Tissot, Longines and Omega. So I’ve got the Tissot Gentleman Open Heart blue dial, Longines Record Chronograph Heritage, and Omega Seamaster Dive 300M white dial on mesh strap. Super proud of what Swatch group has done and basically revived these classic brands at different price points since the quartz crisis, and made them people’s dreams in different stages of their lives!

I went with something less brand/nationality versatile but complication/occasion/color of dial versatile.
    1. Omega Seamaster Diver 300m in blue on the blue rubber strap, the Forstner all brushed contemporary Flatlink bracelet, and just ordered the Omega OEM Stainless Mesh Bracelet.
    2. Omega Speedmaster Chronoscope in the silver dial with red accents on the bracelet
    3. Just ordered 2 days ago the Longines Spirit Zulu Time Green Bezel Gilt dial on the bracelet and will probably get the Artem black Loopless Sailcloth strap for it. I think that way I cover all occasions and have a chrono, a diver, and a GMT

I'm really tempted with a Longines Spirit Zuu Time. Love what Longines have been quietly doing for the last few years. My first (and currently only) mechanical watch is a 2015 Longines Heritage Chronograph, bought for my by my wife as an engagement gift. I have been looking at reviews of the spirit Zulu time for the last couple of months as they pop and photos till I could not take it anymore lol. I would say Breguet 7337 for a dress watch with complications, Rolex GMT Master II left handed as an all-round (I’m a leftie) and an Omega Seamaster PO ceramic 39,5mm black as a beater. Love Breguet, and those baroque details. For Rollie - just a pop-culture watch, plus great that I’m left-handed. Omega PO - scratch resistant ceramic, perfect size, great movement and water resistance
