Based on this well done and reassuring video, I ordered a hitch from Amazon that ended up being different than the one you installed (required cutting a trim panel, no bolts, etc. but *did* come with five pounds of wrapping paper : ). Returned that one and I just ordered another hitch I found by searching on the number 84540 (which I saw on a sticker at 3:13). Looks to be the one you installed in the video. Thanks for the help, sir ... much appreciated!
That was awesome! However, since we don't have the rest of the towing package features, and ours will never be used for towing, only a dog step and possibly a bike rack, we're looking at the Draw-Tite 76905 hitch. It's completely invisible.. Unfortunately though, it's availability is also invisible! It doesn't seem to be currently available? Great video though! Thank you for that!
Did you have power to the 4 pin plug? Sometimes you don't have power and have to get a module which allows the power to hitch wire. The module goes on the right side in the trunk area under the small lid and storage. I have a 2020 and having a difficult time finding a hitch
From memory, as I no longer own the RX350, I believe that you have to waive your foot around a little more, but it has been awhile, and I might be confusing my wife's Venza hitch with this one! In any case, the hitch was way more important to me than the foot lift feature! Happy motoring!
Thanks for watching, to answer your question on if you have the Tow Option, An easy way to check would be to look your VIN number up on a VIN Decoder, just google it, and you will see all the options that your RX came with, another way would be to look into the driver's side wheel well towards the front. You will see some vents. If your RX has the Tow Option, you will see an additional aluminum small radiator (transmission oil cooler) behind the vents. The third is a little harder but not too hard. You simply crawl under the rear, driver's side of the RX. Look behind the bumper in the rear corner and up and if you see a plug, that is the harness for the lights. In my video it is starts at 20:19. hope these tips help you out~ Finally, yes, you can add a tow hitch to any RX, you just won't have the cooling benefits of the extra transmission radiator, and the charging system upgrade on the tow package equipped RXs. So if you tow a lot and heavy loads, watch your temperature gauge. It doesn't directly read transmission temperatures, but since they share the same radiator, a rise in transmission temperatures should show up on your engine temperature gauge. Happy motoring!
I don't believe that this unit is on Amazon any longer. I am not sure what is on the Market these days, it's been quite a while since I did this install. Sorry, and thanks for watching my video!
I don't have the model number, however, you may be able to see it on the box in the video. I purchased this hitch off amazon quite some time ago, and I no longer have the RX350. Hope this helps, and thanks for watching!
Thank you. I installed my hitch and wires exactly as you did. Your video saved me time, money and affort.
Appreciate it.
Nicely done --- I LOVE videos where I am watching some dude unbox his stuff and reading the instructions. Please do those things BEFORE.

Excellent and highly practical presentation! Highly recommended! ❤🎉
Thank you and thank you for watching and commenting!
Thank you for your service man! So cool
Great video. Not sure why the instructions say not to put back the factory tow hook. I liked that you added it back!
My preference is to favor the factory.
Thank you, excellent instruction and very informative.
My pleasure, and thank you for watching and taking the time to write a comment!
Thank you! Your instructions were very informative!
You are welcome!
The OEM tow hitch seems more solid and a lot more bolts to mount the hitch.
At 10x the cost.
my 2021 does not have the towing pkg and the trailer electical connector is dead. no voltage
Nice video, just got a new Lexus so I will be adding a hitch for my bike rack. Hate to pay for something I can do myself !
If you have a helper or a floor jack, it's pretty simple. Also Amazon $130.00 is a pretty good deal on that hitch! Thanks for watching my channel!
The manual says it does not advise towing anything with the rx350. Doesn’t that mean the transmission or engine can be ruined?
I can't believe that the manual you are referring to is correct, mine came with the optional tow package straight from the factory!
Can I get info where you purchased? I want to install on RX350 2021. Thanks
I purchased the hitch on Amazon as stated on the video. I don't know if it is still available, good luck with your RX350!

Yes, my RX350 had the optional trailer package.
Scott if you haven't already, this website may have the part you are looking for...www.etrailer.com/t1-2020_Lexus_RX+350.htm
Very Nice
Thank you and thanks for watching HowToHeaven!
Does the hitch cause any problems with the hatch (foot lift) sensor?

How do we determine if the RX350 is the towing capable option or not? Referring to 3:55. Is it possible to do without those specs?

@@HowToHeaven why did you decide to get rid of it? I have the 2020 RX 350.
@@bdawg1718 I thought it was too big. I replaced it with an NX, and I love it!
Great video but why are you breathing so heavy ???
Ohhh, it's the wind.....
