I care... 1) That I get to play it on my GamePass Subscription for no additional charge. 2) That I get 20% off if I choose to buy the game. 3) That I earn rewards points while playing the game. 4) That I can play the game on any screen I choose using any controller I choose. 5) That I can play it when it first drops. 6) That I can play multiple games if I want using quick resume. 7) That I can stream the game or download it. These are the things that matter to a gamer. Games and features. If you don't have those it doesn't matter how many consoles you sell. 💯

They never came and said it was a 'timed exclusive' so people on other platforms already wrote it off as not something to look forward to. With so many other games available the ship has sailed. The best way to win any conference is to give gamers something new to play immediately. Sony did this with the Destiny 1 Alpha shortly after E3, and I remember when Battlefield Hardline demo dropped during the conference. I love that approach. We need more of that in the industry
If you properly use MS rewards you don’t even have to pay for Ultimate. I have used MS rewards and I have Ultimate until Jan 22, 2028, and I haven’t paid a cent out of pocket since 2019
I just thought I should add, I have bought many games I’ve played thru Gamepass. I’ve bought all the Persona games, most of the Yakuza series, Tales of Arise and Phoenix Wright for my daughter, just to name a few. This is those out there who say people with Gamepass don’t buy games.

Before the direct started, these were the two components Xbox wanted to let gamers know that the following games will be day one on Gamepass and you can buy once and play it on your console, PC, handheld or on mobile cloud and pick up where you left off. Play Anywhere is such an underrated feature because it’s not fully implemented yet on a lot of games but once you get into it, it is such a deal breaker if a platform doesn’t have something similar.
You can absorb essence for ultimate attacks and also check the comman list for much more deadly combos... You will need to be fast and aggressive in your aproach to the game so that you can keep up with the difficulty in the successive stages...
I was pleasantly surprised. Xbox is bringing the smoke. Ninja Gaiden is quite the flag to plant. It's something of a nostalgic hat tip for old farts like me.

I was never a NG fan growing up, but I'm downloading NG 2 Black right now. If it wasn't for GP I never would have given it a second thought. It's great that I can choose to buy it if I want and I can play it on my Xbox or PC. If I don't like it I have the choice of not wasting money on it. All I lose is a little time.
Ah, Ninja Gaiden, those were the X360 days. With Ninja Gaiden its a case of getting a massive score without getting hit, in the menu you were looking at the moves are all there for the weapons in the game, just press the Y button to see then. Collect the scrolls (and Skulls), upgrade your weapon and you're off you go.
NGL, I was gonna be quick to dismiss this. But then I saw the red liquid gush out like a long time unseen friend and I gave them their money. I even grabbed Dynasty Warriors Origins as well cause I felt so guilty for quickly dismissing Team Ninja. I hope this will put an end to the Sigma variation.
A few points to consider about the XBOX Developer direct games: 1- All the games shown are PLAYS ANYWHERE. 2- SOUTH OF MIDNIGHT is up for pre-order at $40. Not $60.Not $70. 3- The schedule is packed: NINJA GAIDEN BLACK remake is now AVOWED for Fen SOUTH OF MIDNIGHT early April EXPEDITION 33 late April DOOM DARK AGES mid May All quality games, all different. All PLAYS ANYWHERE. Don't sleep on the latter, it will matter a lot soon enough. And, also consider that March is the anniversary of the release of OBLIVION and no XBOX published game was shown. But March is when MLB THE SHOW comes out, day one on Game Pass. So march will also have a big release along with all the other titles coming to GAME PASS biweekly. They're flexing their global connections from Japan to Canada to France. Sony and friends have FUDed the hardware but XBOX software has the upper hand. Guess which one brings in the profits? And they always do a BIGGER show in June.
Finally! Someone saying what I've been thinking. I own a pc, an xbox series X, and have game pass ultimate. Being able to try out a full game to see if I like it /see if it runs well on my pc is amazing. Also having play anywhere is a plus. Some games might run well on xbox, but run like shit on my pc, or vice-versa. Trying out a full game reminds me of the shareware days, only difference is shareware games were large demos.

Black Myth may be in trouble now that Ninja Gaiden is back and breathing hyper strong... that money they could have been making on Xbox Series S, Ninja Gaiden a childhood arcade fav, is filling in the gap... I saw that tweet earlier and loved it, that was the brilliance. Sometimes due to the silly talking points I get annoyed at little things but so long as I remember, this is pro-consumer and it got us a sequel after 13 years hiatus?! Yes, good, more of that. I also want them to really step up Store wise on PC too. Bonus if they let me gather my titles from the other launchers into one place, so I can just enjoy my library? Win. In the short term though, I hope Koei Tecmo does more with Xbox, I'm buying Atelier Yumia, might even put the money down to pre-order or just buy it shortly after launch. If they port all the Atelier games to Xbox with Play Anywhere, they'll get a double dip from me.
I never understood the 'I buy my games' argument. I have Game Pass and continue to buy games. I use Game Pass to play Day One releases, then I buy the Deluxe/Ultimate edition when it goes on sale a year later.
Good point about being able to try out games, that's one of Game Pass's biggest strengths. The difference between Microsoft and Sony is that MS has the money to play around with and try out these new things, whereas Sony relies heavily on people buying games full price from their store.

You seem to have it confused; it's actually PS players who don't buy Sony's games, that's why they cancelled 9 of them recently. Astro Bot sold around 1.5m out 67m players which is terrible. Compare that to Black Ops 6 which sold over 500m in its first week and both Stalker 2 and Indiana Jones did well too. It's a win/win for Microsoft right now and Sony is relying on MS games to make money.

I'll concede one thing; PS users buying Xbox games is funding Xbox considerably, and therefore they're able to continue putting these games on Game Pass. So effectively, it's a symbiotic relationship where both companies make money off of each other but ultimately, MS has the upper hand because it's their games and they take the bigger cut. It's similar to Sony selling their games on MS Windows.

Every single game that I've bought digital since the Xbox 360 are all still in my library. Over 100. Most of them I don't even play and there are some I've had for year and have never played. Unless you're a collector, owning shouldn't be that big of an issue. You won't play every game you own if you buy alot if games like myself. Had Ac Odessey for over 2 years. Haven't played 5 minutes of it yet.
This is what some of us where saying in the past when it comes to Xbox's deal. Game is put on Gamepass and release everywhere day one or with some titles it has a short short 3 month window now. No keep a game locked down for a year or two.
As a PS gamer playstation plus is a ripoff the only day one games we get are mid and were going to flop anyway. When A Man Who Erased his Name and Starfield came out day one I paid for gamepass booted up my potato laptop and played the games with a ps3 controller thats cool as hell. PS Premium is 17.99 for a month and Gamepass Ultimate is 19.99 per month there is no competition extra 2 dollars gets you day one games. I got enough points from Microsoft Rewards right now to get Gamepass Ultimate for free once again Sony would not do this. People saying gamepass not sustainable and only lead to bad games but what the hell is Sony doing over there making flops like Concord😂. Subscription service or not if you going to make a flop its going to be a flop people need to stop making excuses for Sony underdelivering on their subscription service.

Looks like your installed Game Pass library is growing ;) If a PC gamer ever tells me they never used CDKeys before, I will slap them in the face for lying. Steam and GOG are great and all but the sheer amount of games that PC gamers play is not sustainable unless you cut corners. I use CDKeys a lot, and I also buy games on sale on Steam. Depends on the cost and depends on the price. It's a free market after all so, as a consumer, you can shop around to wherever fits your price point.

The last time you 'owned' a game on a Xbox console was the 360. Both the Xbox One and X/S require Microsoft servers to activate the console on a factory reset. Without those servers, your console is a brick and your discs are e-waste. The PS5 isn't immune to this either. Starting with the PS5 Slim, all PS5 consoles require you to activate/pair the disc drive to the console on a factory reset. This requires the servers to be active. I saw this all to say, if you truly care about ownership, buy your games on an open platform like PC. Even in the unlikely event that Steam ceases to exist, there are 'ways' to continue playing the games you purchased.

And, also consider that March is the anniversary of the release of OBLIVION and no XBOX published game was shown. But March is when MLB THE SHOW comes out, day one on Game Pass. So march will also have a big release along with all the other titles coming to GAME PASS biweekly.

Finally! Someone saying what I've been thinking. I own a pc, an xbox series X, and have game pass ultimate. Being able to try out a full game to see if I like it /see if it runs well on my pc is amazing. Also having play anywhere is a plus. Some games might run well on xbox, but run like shit on my pc, or vice-versa. Trying out a full game reminds me of the shareware days, only difference is shareware games were large demos.

I saw that tweet earlier and loved it, that was the brilliance. Sometimes due to the silly talking points I get annoyed at little things but so long as I remember, this is pro-consumer and it got us a sequel after 13 years hiatus?! Yes, good, more of that. I also want them to really step up Store wise on PC too. Bonus if they let me gather my titles from the other launchers into one place, so I can just enjoy my library? Win. In the short term though, I hope Koei Tecmo does more with Xbox, I'm buying Atelier Yumia, might even put the money down to pre-order or just buy it shortly after launch. If they port all the Atelier games to Xbox with Play Anywhere, they'll get a double dip from me.

I never understood the 'I buy my games' argument. I have Game Pass and continue to buy games. I use Game Pass to play Day One releases, then I buy the Deluxe/Ultimate edition when it goes on sale a year later.

Good point about being able to try out games, that's one of Game Pass's biggest strengths. The difference between Microsoft and Sony is that MS has the money to play around with and try out these new things, whereas Sony relies heavily on people buying games full price from their store.
And that's why yalls games are going to ps. Even when Microsoft did make good games, yall weren't buying em and gampass has not grown nearly as fast as they hoped for internally. Gotta make money somehow

You seem to have it confused; it's actually PS players who don't buy Sony's games, that's why they cancelled 9 of them recently. Astro Bot sold around 1.5m out 67m players which is terrible. Compare that to Black Ops 6 which sold over 500m in its first week and both Stalker 2 and Indiana Jones did well too. It's a win/win for Microsoft right now and Sony is relying on MS games to make money.

I'll concede one thing; PS users buying Xbox games is funding Xbox considerably, and therefore they're able to continue putting these games on Game Pass. So effectively, it's a symbiotic relationship where both companies make money off of each other but ultimately, MS has the upper hand because it's their games and they take the bigger cut. It's similar to Sony selling their games on MS Windows.
@cun7us 1. Gamepass is NOT performing as well as microsfts wanted it to internally that's why they made the out of nowhere pivot from " these acquisitions for exlusives" to putting there games on RIVAL platforms
2. Playstation fans buy plenty games. Ps biggest 1st party games sell infinitely more than Xbox 1st party. Xbox games didn't sell well enough to justify using the same strategy as ps and Nintendo which is why gamepass exists in the first place.
3. Sony canceled 9 live service games cuz they don't know wtf they are doing in that genre. Not because ps fans don't buy games lmao. Everything sells better on ps than Xbox

Every single game that I've bought digital since the Xbox 360 are all still in my library. Over 100. Most of them I don't even play and there are some I've had for year and have never played. Unless you're a collector, owning shouldn't be that big of an issue. You won't play every game you own if you buy alot if games like myself. Had Ac Odessey for over 2 years. Haven't played 5 minutes of it yet.
This is what some of us where saying in the past when it comes to Xbox's deal. Game is put on Gamepass and release everywhere day one or with some titles it has a short short 3 month window now. No keep a game locked down for a year or two.
As a PS gamer playstation plus is a ripoff the only day one games we get are mid and were going to flop anyway. When A Man Who Erased his Name and Starfield came out day one I paid for gamepass booted up my potato laptop and played the games with a ps3 controller thats cool as hell.
PS Premium is 17.99 for a month and Gamepass Ultimate is 19.99 per month there is no competition extra 2 dollars gets you day one games. I got enough points from Microsoft Rewards right now to get Gamepass Ultimate for free once again Sony would not do this. People saying gamepass not sustainable and only lead to bad games but what the hell is Sony doing over there making flops like Concord😂. Subscription service or not if you going to make a flop its going to be a flop people need to stop making excuses for Sony underdelivering on their subscription service.

Bruh Ninja Gaiden is legendary. The OG game that did difficulty correctly. Way better than the artificial difficulty of From Software games that in my opinion are extremely overrated.

Nintendo don't spend 100-400 million to make AAA game. This is why they can dish out so many games AND make them exclusive in the same time while making a lot of profit. For some reason people treat Nintendo different, maybe because their target audience are kids most of the time?

If a PC gamer ever tells me they never used CDKeys before, I will slap them in the face for lying. Steam and GOG are great and all but the sheer amount of games that PC gamers play is not sustainable unless you cut corners. I use CDKeys a lot, and I also buy games on sale on Steam. Depends on the cost and depends on the price. It's a free market after all so, as a consumer, you can shop around to wherever fits your price point.

The last time you 'owned' a game on a Xbox console was the 360. Both the Xbox One and X/S require Microsoft servers to activate the console on a factory reset. Without those servers, your console is a brick and your discs are e-waste. The PS5 isn't immune to this either. Starting with the PS5 Slim, all PS5 consoles require you to activate/pair the disc drive to the console on a factory reset. This requires the servers to be active.
I saw this all to say, if you truly care about ownership, buy your games on an open platform like PC. Even in the unlikely event that Steam ceases to exist, there are 'ways' to continue playing the games you purchased.
