    Americans never tire of singing the National Anthem. You won’t see anyone roll their eyes or huff and puff when it comes on. You sing it proudly.

    I was there!!! That was my daughter's Senior year of high school and her last year of All State Choir. My husband and I were filming in the lobby and she was on the first level! I did the same thing in 1992 when I was in All State Choir. It's a long-standing Kentucky tradition. We used to go out on the balcony and sing every night that we were there. Hearing it live is an experience like none other!

    So many young People today, don't appreciate the True meaning of National Anthems. They don't realized what is embodied in these songs. We live in a world of Entitlement, the Focus is ME. They don't fully understand, that if it wasn't for the Sacrifice of other, they would not have the Freedoms they have today. The Anthem of the UK is one of my Favorites also. I love our National Anthem and I wouldn't change a note of it but it is one of the most difficult songs to sing EVER because it has extremely high notes and extremely low notes and not many people have the range required to sing both. Most people sing what they can and then they fade out or start singing harmony when it gets so low or so high they can't reach the notes. Someone in this choir not only hit the high note in "land of the FREE" but they took FREE up even more. Beautiful job. Thank you for your reaction to this. I am an OLD woman but I think I tear up pretty much every time I hear this wonderful song.

Even my family who act overly patriotic I don’t think know, they just say “because we’re America and we are the best” or something along those lines. I literally just learned why yesterday and I appreciate it a lot more

Im so old that all the way through school, we had devotion, prayer and the pledge of allegiance every day over the school intercom. Folks act like all the above is a big no-no these days. We were taught WHY we should be proud to live in america. We arent a perfect nation but we are about as perfect to having freedom as any nation can be. Thank you for replying to my statement. @@tammylester1387 it seems like today the school curriculum is scared to show the darker side of America. Like in my US History class in high school we spent more time learning what a flapper is over the battles and the strategies. My teacher told us that he just shows us what the school tells him to and that if we want to learn more we’d have to do it on our own time.
      We only did the pledge of allegiance in elementary school but after that it was only like once a week or on holidays that we had in school. I like learning about the darker side, like I get it not fun to talk about but to understand the future we have to learn about the past, I’m a strong believer in that. History does repeat itself and nothing will change if we don’t change how we think. When I have kids, I have a whole playlist on here that are educational in a lot of different things because I know the school will only teach them so much

    • @tammylester1387
      @tammylester1387 3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @@Wyvernn2000 so true. Folks need to hear all about the bad things that happened in the making of the world we have now. Its not doing the kids a lick of justice not teaching them about what has shaped america...the good and the bad. I heard that they even gloss over the Holocaust. It just does a disservice to our ancestors that lived through all the wars...the horrible things done to the indians that were here before us...the child labor that went on...slavery. It is our past. If kids arent taught our past mistakes, how will they know to try and nit repeat it in the future. I guess that i was blessed to have grown up in the time that i did. I live in Mississippi. I remember the first black in my school. I remember his name and just what a sweetheart he was. I know he had a hard time in 1969 being the only black kid at my school but that one young man made such an impression on my by how he carried himself that i still remember him. Oh well...im rambling. I guess im wishing for simpler times. You are still young. Keep learning. Keep sharing what you learn. Never stop growing as a person.

      @@matthewsoules7193 yeah some things are said by mistake or taken the wrong way in that video but it's mainly accurate if you think of the main part of the story. It's a video that needs to be going around especially in our schools to teach our young children the importance and meaning of the national anthem!! It is still good regardless and makes you feel patriotic!!

      @@matthewsoules7193 The Story NEVER SAID it was written during the Revolutionary War. MAYBE you should learn to LISTEN... It was ABSOLUTELY the truth of the creation, though it didn't become the "National Anthem" for decades...

      @icyhnbryce3914 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @Mike H The video never specifically said it was written during the Revolutionary War, but the video did say we were colonies during the war, which we were not. By 1812, we were states. So by the video saying colonies and not states, that implies that they think it was written during the Revolutionary War. Perhaps it was just a mistake or it could be because the War of 1812 is often called the 2nd Revolutionary War

      This is a HUGE PROBLEM TODAY!! People trying to DESTROY OUR HISTORY, and MISQUOTING, or trying to justify "accuracy" based on not understanding the MEANINGS of history, is why our country is GOING TO HELL IN A HAND BASKET....
      Are we REALLY going to jump in a hand basket and go to hell? NO STUPID, it's a representation, LIKE how COLONIES were used in this story!!

    I’ve watched this very rendition on numerous TH-cam channels and it brings me to tears every darn time. I’m a Kentuckian and have lived in the Louisville area all my 58 years of life. The location is the Hyatt Regency in Downtown Louisville Kentucky. It is a yearly tradition (or was) during the Choral High School Competitions that this hotel host the competitions simply because of the acoustics. This is how the USofA National Anthem should always be sung, passionately, harmoniously and with proudness of being an American. God Bless the USofA and her people. 🇺🇸✝️🙏🏻💙🇺🇸

    Kentucky All State Choir is a high school choir. The students compete to get in to the all state choir. There is an All State choir for every state in the US. There is also All Region and National choir. I competed every year for the junior and senior high school years. I made Arkansas All State once. it was fun.
