As an American, and a veteran, this makes me very, very proud of these young ppl, and somewhat restores my faith in today's youth, may God bless all of these kids, and please continue this tradition alive, its historic and very important, thank you for reacting to this..👍👍👍👍👍
The 2019 version is perhaps the best recorded so far. If you listen closely, you can hear some of the sopranos hit three octaves higher on the word “free”. That was apparently a year where they had enough sopranos with that vocal range so they could actually be heard. 😉✅
I love that they go at a slow pace and after finishing a sentence, wait a split second to start the next sentence in order to allow the sound to finish echoing before the next line.
Thank you for your reaction! These are high school choir students selected from across the state of Kentucky to participate in an all state choir. They are staying at the Hyatt Hotel in Louisville, Kentucky. They gather on the various balconies and sing the National Anthem in the evening. A tradition for many years. Kentucky is my home state. We have incredible musicians of all ages. Hope you can come and visit us sometime!
These are about 16 year olds in Louisville KY for the state choir championships and stay at this hotel. At 11 pm they arrange to come out of all their rooms to unite to sing the national anthem as a "sign off goodnight."
100% agree. Your national anthem is shared by everybody and should be sung by everybody. It is part of what makes your country unique. No matter if you are American, British, French, Japanese or Egyptian. Every country has something that makes them special and the anthem can make people feel like they are part of that.
The venue is the atrium of the Hyatt Regency Hotel, 320 W Jefferson St, Louisville, KY 40202-2997. They've been doing this almost annually during the Kentucky All State Choir event in February since 1991. They're high school students, grades 10-12, typically ages 15-18.
Star Spangled Banner was initially a poem written by a lawyer named Frances Scott Key in 1814. It has been adapted by many artists who put their own personal spin on it. While there have been numerous noteworthy performances, none can top the one Whitney Houston gave in January 1991 at the Super Bowl XXV game. Yes, Chris Stapleton did a great job, but Whitney's version is considered to be the absolute best, voted by countless fans around the world & fellow music artists. Please check out her rendition, which was released as a single on two separate occasions. The first was to help raise money to assist families of US soldiers fighting in the Gulf War. The second time was after the Sept. 11th terrorist attacks. She donated all sales proceeds to charity.
Gets me every time I'm very proud to be an American and the choir has amazing voices I seen a video yesterday from a guy from Britain thanks for sharing you should listen to Whitney Houston singing the national anthem
I know when foreigners hear the US National Anthem is sound longer than it actually is. To be precise, the US National Anthem is exactly 1 minute and 19 seconds. The shortest national anthems are those of Japan, Jordan, and San Marino, each with only four lines. And the National Anthem of Japan is widely considered the shortest at 45 seconds.
It's actually a hotel in Louisville Ky, called the Hyatt Regency. This is being performed by an array of high school choir students in the state who auditioned and earned the privilege to perform at all-state. This isn't being conducted either.

This is a giant college building I bet it's less bigger than UMass Amherst’s giant library building that looks like a rectangular cubic pillar.
Forgot to say this but this has got to be a dorm.
