I was actually in KY All-State Choir in 2008, and it's just as amazing to be a part of it. The amazing thing is that it isn't rehearsed. What happens is that around 10 pm, if I'm remembering right (it could have been 9), you leave whatever room you're in and stand around the balconies. Someone starts with "O" and then everyone joins in. People sing whatever parts and harmonies they know, and it turns into this. It isn't directed either, so the tempo is just sort of felt and decided upon in the moment by the singers. We even all raced back after the official concert to sing it one last time, and my mom said it was the best part of the night for her.

I believe that the rights and freedoms that I enjoy in my country exist only because the Americans have them.
If America fell tomorrow, I think the majority of my rights and freedoms would be immediately taken away by my own government.

Love of my country does not mean I disrespect other countries. I have been to many , and respect them all. I am a citizen of the United States of America. I recognize the fact that our politicians have done their best to get everything they can and rip off everybody they can. But the American Citizen does not condone this behavior. We Americans who believe in our Republic are fighting the oligarchs. Please give us time. We are fighting them, and we will win.

I will look it up but it will be difficult to top General Patton.
"We're not just going to shoot the sons-of-bitches, we're going to rip out their living Goddamned guts and use them to grease the treads of our tanks.”

To put it in perspective. General Kelley gave that speech, just 2 weeks after his own son also a Marine, was killed in action. It was about the last 6 seconds of 2 Marine's lives in doing so, saved the lives of about 150 men . Lcpl Haerter & Lcpl Yale. They would have made General Patton Proud.

America stands up for all good people around the world, even if your not American. So no matter what country your from this anthems for you as well. Some of the most patriotic people that I know weren’t even born here. Middle East. Central and South America. Europe. Africa. I’ve seen all these people rival the best as far as patriotism for the United States. They come here. Adopt this nation as there own and dive head first into everything about this great land. We are all immigrants here. 99% of us aren’t Native American. The country was founded on people coming here making it what it is today. So since we all fall under being immigrants, this anthem is for everyone. As long as you believe in freedom.

The song is based on a poem written by Francis Scott Key as he witnessed the Battle of Ft. McHenry outside of Baltimore during the War of 1812 when Britain tried to retake her colonies. It was the decisive battle of the war and we all know the outcome. The building they are singing in is surely a John Portman designed, Hyatt Regency. Their classic interior atrium is the hallmark of his design. The best I have personally ever seen is the Hyatt Regency Embarcadaro in San Francisco.

Courtney, if you like the US Military videos, you might want to watch a Navy Retirement Ceremony. The Navy Retirement Ceremony is a very special way the Navy says Farewell to a retiring Sailor.

We welcome legal immigrants with open arms, its just the criminals and freeloaders that dont want to come in legally and for the wrong reasons that we dislike.

3:58 To answer your question Courtney, it made this old Veteran tear up, as our National Anthem always does for me. There are many stories about our Flag, our Anthem is just one put to song, and our Pride for our flag. In those days (1700’s-1800’s) and some to this very day, would rather die than let our flag fall to the ground. Our flag stands for freedom, and that freedom was not free, but paid for by the blood of Americans that fought for it.
