This is sooo much more emotional knowing you are now uprooting and moving to America to not only become an American but also a fellow Texan!!! Can't wait Bub!!
I have been there, doing this. My high school choir made State my sophomore year. We had a guy who could hit notes in the 1s, and a soprano who could hit notes in the 7s. We were on the 5th floor, so we could hear EVERYONE! I got LITERAL CHILLS being there, and feeling that foyer vibrate from just vocals…. It was simply breathtaking! We had business men and women in the lobby, stop mid conversation, and hold up their cell phones, to have it be heard.
I am British born to a British mother and American father and have been an American citizen for over 60 years, I love this country and will always honor her ! We are so blessed to live here ! God Bless America !
@@circedelune as an american, it most likely because most americans havent lived anywhere other than here. they have no outsider perspective on life elsewhere. they arent grateful for living here nor do they know the background of what has happened. being a foreigner here they have a new better opportunity and they are grateful for it
That is the first time I’ve ever heard the Star Spangled Banner sung as a hymn. What a remarkable moment. And thank you sir for the reminder about the beauty of our country.
As an American from NY hearing it still brings me to tears EVERY TIME!! I always think about the meaning behind the words and about how lucky we are to be so free and about the brave men and women that died so i can live peacefully. I think my favorite part though each time is the cheers that erupt after the anthem is sung. I dont think it happens in most countries but I love it about Americans. 246 years later and MOST of us are still thankful for our freedom. Im 30 yrs old and Im raising the next generation of patriots. Welcome to America and welcome to Florida! Hope you love it its my favorite state :)
I'm so glad you will be joining us! I pray that you find the US and state of Florida to be a welcoming new home for you sir! Always grateful to have a fellow patriot by our side!!! 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
My grandparents all immigrated from Ireland in the 1920s. They NEVER took the blessings of the USA for granted. Great response. This version of our anthem always gives me chills. Slainte, and good luck coming over.🇺🇸🦅🇮🇪🇬🇧
So the national anthem began as a poem describing the bombardment of fort McHenry. At 2:50 the lyrics say “gave proof through the night that our flag was still there” the flag was indeed still there and it was because of the tenacity and bravery of the American soldiers in the fort to keep the flag up with their bodies. The men gave their life to keep the flag raised.
Awesome! I love the culture of your State, and also your bourbon haha! I'd love to visit Kentucky one day. I suppose it'll only be a short flight from Florida once I get there!
I’m a proud American and the saddest thing is so many young people do not know the meaning of the song, nor who wrote it or where. I’ve had the opportunity twice in my life to go to Ft McHenry in Baltimore, Maryland and have seen where this was written. If you have a chance to travel whilst here in America, this is a place worth seeing.
This is all "by the seat of the pants". Nobody planned it the first time and no director leading them. A bunch of them were just playing on the balconies and started singing. The rest of them came out to join in. Now every time they have the yearly competition this happens. As a daughter of someone who left their blood on foreign shores for the sake of the world, not just the USA, thank you for you respect and blessings.
As a 72 year old born and bred Kentuckian. We are very proud of this and the so many things we have to share in this state. From our Ky Derby to our beautiful Ark Encounter.
You are so precious. I love your patriotism. My husband is an army veteran and my father fought in WWII. They were true patriots as I am and so proud of them. I’m so glad you are coming here to the US. We will be proud and happy to stand beside you as a fellow patriot!!! God bless you!
It seems to amaze me that people who were not born American, don’t seem to know about it’s history as much as those that choose to become American citizens. I married a German-born man, who became a citizen & served our country for over 30 years. His knowledge of our history has schooled me. Proud American 🇺🇸
Also as a Floridian I’d move out of here in a heartbeat if I could…but family ties to aging parents keep us here. The states turning into a right wing crapfest that only finds value in people that are WASPs.
Nice reaction Mikey. You have a great channel. I appreciate your heartfelt reactions, analysis and commentary and love for our Country. I know that your channel will grow large in no time. I grew up in Virginia and as a child still I moved to England for a few years with my family due to my father's job. We lived near Henley-on-Thames for awhile and then in London right next door to the popular singer and actress Lulu when she had lived there. I loved England a lot. I found the people very nice and loved everything about it. We later moved back to the United States. I currently reside in Oregon. I am so happy you will be moving to the U.S.A. soon. You will be a great addition to our Country! ❤️🇺🇲❤️🇺🇲❤️🇺🇲❤️🇺🇲
Hey Ann, thank you so much for your comment and your support! England is a great place to live as is the US. After all our cultures and history sync in more ways than one! I’m glad you had a great time living in my Country and I’m super excited to live in the States!!
Thank you very much my friend. The unites States and Texas have had a special place in my heart for many years. I have a job offer in Florida, so my Journey will begin there at the end of this year!!
My grandpa was in a war , my dad served in Korea, aunt's and uncles served in different branches. I joined the navy 2 days after graduating high school. Best decision of my life
As an American, thank you for your comments. M ost of us "Yanks" feel like we're cousins. A tight family. Anything happens to you? We're there. And we know you would do the same. Funny after all of the fighting years ago!..... I only wish i could travel and see your part of the world. So much to see. Peace
This isn't my first time seeing the video. But, it's my first time seeing your reaction. I just want to say, As a native Kenuckian, this makes me very proud
Beautiful reaction to this incredible performance, I love the fact that you were mouthing the words and placed your hand on your heart. I really hope that you enjoy Florida, FL has an awesome governor ❤. Sending love from North Carolina.
These are 9th through 12 grade young people. I am rom just above Florida. Some of my family has been here since the 1600's and I am still thankful to be here.
Thank you as a british man honoring our national anthem! This is a definite moving and teary eyed version, As a military wife and mom I can honestly say its an honor to have a non-citizen show so much respect and honor for our country especially right now w this joke of a POTUS letting illegals tear down our beautiful strong country! You're the type of ppl coming here that we welcome with open arms! Also, if you'd be interested I'm starting a channel around cultures in the USAand other countries maybe you;d have better luck w/YT that way as far as monetization goes I mean! God bless you!!
Beautiful reaction to such amazing talent and patriotism for our country. Nothing better than when strangers come together and put all difference aside to show just how much we love and take pride in our Nation ❤ Also as a Floridian, born and raised in southwest Florida, I welcome you to our state. Florida is completely different in terms of weather than that of the UK. Also have you ever encountered a Hurricane before? Where I live we were the direct hit from Hurricane Ian and 8 months later we are all still trying to get back to normal, so prayers we slide by this summer without another one 🙏
We call our flag " Old Glory" I pray that America 🇺🇸 will not shut out the glorious presence of God. Oh say does that glory of the Lord still wave in our hearts.
My grandfather was an immagrent with his family in early 20 century from Germany. In fact, he spoke no English when he first gort here. They earned their citizenship and he learned english. My grandmother's family dates back to he American revolution and there were members who also fought as Union soldiers, (and died), in the Civil War, WWI, WWII, and the Vietnam war. Our country has many patriots still, and we are being attacked from within. Pray for us now in our hour of need. May God Bless our country and keep her safe from those who would destroy her for the sake of power and greed.
its one thing to hear it on video..its another to actually be there which i had.. 14th floor and it is absolutely beautiful Edit: this was at the Hyatt Regency hotel in Louisville Kentucky
People from other countries don’t quite understand why so many Americans fly our flag. Listen to the words of this song … learn that this was written about an actual battle where men died … and men died to keep our flag flying. This is just one reason why. God bless ☺
So many memories come back with this. Each state has All-State Choir, All-State Band etc. I was part of the choir for Pennsylvania in high school a few years (15yr olds-18yr olds). I loved getting to sing in the Capitol Rotunda I. Harrisburg every year under those amazing paintings & hearing the sounds carry through the whole building. I also (unbeknownst to me at the time) met my husband through it! In college, I also participated in an audition-to-join touring choir & traveled the country making music with fabulous friends. This brought back those memories 😍♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️. I miss singing in choir and working hard on complex music with others .... But the best part was always sharing the spine tingling moments like these with the people sitting in the seats or walking through the space - people that you would've had no reason to connect with other than they wanted to hear the music.
Mikey, I agree with your sentiments completely, and it's not just because I'm American born. You very likely already know about a former Brit who's now living in Chicago with his American wife, with a channel named "Lost in the Pond". During the last week, Laurence's channel reached 500K subscribers.
Hope to have you join us brother, as a kentuckian myself, this song brings me more pride than I could state with words. Hope it gives you that same pride when you become one of us.
Highly recommend if you have not heard it. And that is the Star-Spangled Banner as you’ve never heard it before. Talks about how Francis Scott Key observed the attack on Fort McHenry during the War of 1812 (the second war with Great Britain ) and when he wrote the words to the Star-Spangled Banner.
That's normal in the US, when someone starts, everyone joins in.We had to sing the National Anthem every Monday morning at school. At some point it's good and you only sing them for Canada Day.
Fort McHenry in Baltimore used to have a whole program in the visitors center on the flag. At the very end the curtains open onto the flag flying in the center of the fort. It is awesome and brings tears to my eyes. Been a while since I have visited the fort so not sure if they still do this.
The Anthem always brings me to tears. Sorry you are moving to Florida (Florida Man), and please do not believe this is the most free country in the world. Our rights, liberties, abilities to vote and bodily autonomy are under attack every day.
As a Floridian we welcome you and hope you enjoy “the greatest state in the Union”(I think Texas and Florida make a great tag team). P.S. As I am 50% Irish; bring your sunscreen!
This is a lovely clip. I hope you have a successful move to the US. Florida is my least favorite of the 50 states but if you don't like Florida you have 49 other options to try! I live in Lexington, Kentucky, the horse capital of the world, and the people here are the nicest in the country. Most Europeans who move to the US are shocked by how hot it is. Summer in Florida is super-hot but they do have air-conditioning everywhere. And you will learn why Americans use so much ice. Best wishes to you!
I am a new subscriber! I am looking forward to being part of this journey. I didn't read all of the comments but if no one mentioned it, I believe that the choir is made up of high school students.
It was a bit slower than normal, but might have been the recording. Whitney Houston’s version at 1991 Super Bowl is still one of the best ever IMO. Even as it was prerecorded by her (NFL required) still incredible to check out.
You need to visit the Smithsonian American History Museum in Washington DC. The original Star Spangled Banner that flew over Fort McHenry in the War of 1812 battle is on display.there

First off welcome. Second off, unfortunately your statement isn't too far off. I promise though, not all of us liberty hating commies.
I feel the exact same way you do!!
I wouldn’t say most, but there are a lot of anti-Americans living here.

Sadly true but there are still at least 80 million of us and growing. The more they push us the more we grow in number.🙏✌❤
Now THIS ladies & gentlemen is how you sing OUR national anthem & support OUR country. this is by far the best national anthem I’ve ever seen
That is the first time I’ve ever heard the Star Spangled Banner sung as a hymn. What a remarkable moment. And thank you sir for the reminder about the beauty of our country.

i was there at the Hyatt for the Nazarene Youth Conference that was held in the KFC arena..it was absolutely heavenly listening to that again.

Thank you very much! That means a lot!
Great reaction, I love the way the mens voices support and structure this whole arrangement. Welcome to the US ❤🇺🇸
Thank you so much. Me too, its a beautiful rendition!!
Not quiet men and women yet, these teens did a great job
I'm bawling my eyes out every time I watch this!!!!
I'll never not cry at the anthem. our flag represents everything
Wish you would do the most recent one February 2023, Awesome, my granddaughter was a part of that..these kids did a great job!

Our National Anthem as a hym and a prayer.
Absolutely beautiful! God Bless America!
One love my guy 💯✊🏾
Your Tongan friend from the USA
Thank you dude, means a lot!! Love the support!
Those acoustics were one of a kind. They sang slowly enough to let the sound move around. Made it even more lovely, imo.
We call our flag " Old Glory" I pray that America 🇺🇸 will not shut out the glorious presence of God. Oh say does that glory of the Lord still wave in our hearts.
I'm from Canada and it chokes me up everytime I hear it also.
Just started watching your videos. We would be proud to have you in the USA. Too many people in America are not patriotic anymore.
He definitely should think about taking the Citizenship Exam

Awesome! Proud to be a Kentuckian!❤
Wish you only the best in your new life in Florida....Good luck, my friend!

Thank you, sir, for your loving and kind words. God bless you and everyone in the United Kingdom.
2013 is still my favorite one. The sound was amazing

Thank you for an awesome reaction! That's my home state. We have some incredible musicians.
Mikey, ÿou a true Honorable American. You should definitely think about taking the Citizenship Exam...
Thank you for your kind words.
I live in Louisville Kentucky and this is at the hotel....and do it every year now
They have been doing it for over 20 years. It's a tradition.
Gets me every time.🥺🇺🇸🇬🇧
It truly is a beautiful song that makes the eyes of this grown a$$ guy tear up every time.
Can’t wait to have you here, Mikey! Good luck to you! You’ll be treated as an American!
God Bless America & God Bless you!!🙏🇺🇸❤️🇺🇸❤️
From Arizona, thank you cousin.
If you come to will be a welcome addition to country.
I was in this! The director, Mason-Walker was the best music director I’ve ever known.

Thats how I emotionally felt bro when I saw that video. Now I really want to be an American.
The way it should be heard. Love it much better than the "stars" do it.
As a Floridian we welcome you and hope you enjoy “the greatest state in the Union”(I think Texas and Florida make a great tag team).
P.S. As I am 50% Irish; bring your sunscreen!
I love this! Absolutely beautiful
God bless America
Wow, whoever decided this, deserves a gold star. Uff da. Sure got to me.
You are one of us now brother. Welcome. 🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲
Honestly means a lot!! Can't wait to hold my American passport in my hand someday!
This is a lovely clip. I hope you have a successful move to the US. Florida is my least favorite of the 50 states but if you don't like Florida you have 49 other options to try! I live in west central Florida on the gulf coast. Welcome!
Love from Kentucky
when you listen to the "Star Spangled Banner". seeing as how you are British, do you ever get "To Anacreon In Heaven stuck in your head?
Great channel. I subbed. 😀
Thank you!!!
Beautiful
I am a new subscriber! I am looking forward to being part of this journey. I didn't read all of the comments but if no one mentioned it, I believe that the choir is made up of high school students.
If there is anything I admire about the USA is the patriotism of the people.
Well howdy and welcome to your new home
It was a bit slower than normal, but might have been the recording. Whitney Houston’s version at 1991 Super Bowl is still one of the best ever IMO. Even as it was prerecorded by her (NFL required) still incredible to check out.
you have to watch the one from 2013... idk why but that one is special.
You need to visit the Smithsonian American History Museum in Washington DC. The original Star Spangled Banner that flew over Fort McHenry in the War of 1812 battle is on display.there
Bro didn’t even realize he became an American Patriot until 3:05
To think that's only the first stanza.
There's like 5 more on top of that lol
Welcome aboard!
You need to look up Whitney Houston singing the National Anthem. The most amazing rendition ever.
