Proud to say I'm in the same class in one of the groups, two of my best friends in there singing rn they did amazing, wish I auditioned for all state, def will next year tho
This is a tradition going all the way back to 1958 for the All-State Choirs of Kentucky. Each year the best Choral students in the State audition and are chosen. They gather in Louisville Ky every February for a performance at the Kentucky International Convention Center. All the participants stay at the Hyatt Regency downtown which was built in 1978. The tradition is to come out and stand outside your rooms and sing the National Anthem each night of the convention. I was blessed to have participated in this all 4 years in High School back in the 90's. It is truly amazing and the people who work and are visiting in the hotel stop and stand still to listen. I'm so thrilled to see the tradition is living on!!!
CBS News covered this story two years ago (I was the one who pitched the story when I was a CBS employee) -- th-cam.com/video/uVIy-GSewM4/w-d-xo.html&pp=ygUuY2JzIG5ld3Mgam9obiBoYXJ0bWFuIGtlbnR1Y2t5IG5hdGlvbmFsIGFudGhlbQ%3D%3D
We’re down on floor 3. This is my first year experiencing this in person, and this was so much more angelic than I ever imagined. Can’t wait to hear our concerts on Friday!
I was introduced to this beautiful spectacle years ago, and every year if I don't get it from someone else, I'll pull it up and post it. These kids NEVER cease to amaze me with the beauty and love in which they sing The Star Spangled Banner, another year, Thank you all
I just randomly thought of the Kentucky All State Choir at midnight right now, and was curious if there was a 2024 version since it's the first week of February, because that's when they usually sing. I find it's a crazy coincidence that it happened just an hour ago! I look forward to the singing every year. What an absolutely beautiful performance.
Every year I look forward to hearing this. I really dislike how at most sporting events the singer always has to make the National Anthem "their own" by changing it up. These young people never fail to make me tear up singing the anthem the way it should be sung. I would love to experience this yearly tradition in person some day.
With the acoustics inside the large hotel space and singing on each floor, it sounds just like it would if they were in a large cathedral. Very angelic. Nicely done! This was featured on NBC Nightly News, Feb. 24th. Francis Scott Key would have been proud!
Wow this was so beautiful. So proud of these young American patriots. Gave me a little bit more faith in the up and coming generations. Thank God for this country which has given me so much. May God Bless America in the turbulent times ahead. Stay strong and keep the faith. Remain steadfast in your values, love thy neighbor, show kindness and compassion to your fellow citizens. Resist the reset.
it seems i have come to expect this all state choir conference and to hear how majestic you all sound each yeaar, and listen in joy with a tear in my eye to this great Anthem
I’ve been a professional musician my entire life. My daughter has performed this at the Oakland a’s games. I’m tired of all these people putting their own version while bending notes and making it their own. This song is not about them it’s about our country! I love this and yes let’s invite them to the Super Bowl!
This choir never ceases to amaze me, and make me tear up with how angelic it is. It just so happens that I'm watching this on Memorial Day 2024. It was never my intention today to so, but I am glad I did.
Everything in this song flows so perfectly. Thank goodness no excessive high notes. This is the way it should be sung, anywhere, especially during sports events. 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
I got tears in my eyes. It’s not just the fact that it’s an amazing rendition, but the fact that everyone here are unified in this. It shows me what’s still possible in America.
You guys are amazing! I remember being in choir in high school. It's a thrill to be part of that "big" noise. It was a tradition at our annual Christmas show for the alma mater to come up and join the choir in singing Handel's Messiah every year. That, too, was very powerful and overwhelming. One never forgets their part either.
As someone who sang this at home sports games in high school, I loved singing the national anthem. As a veteran of the Armed Forces, it hits different, makes me tear up hearing it.
So often our young people get a " bumb rap" by society.....these kids deserve the highest of praises for a magnificent performance of our national anthem.....at a time when our nation needs hearing it so much. BRAVO ❤
I can hear this 1000 times and I will get emotional 1000 times. The only thing that disappointed me was seeing virtually no one with hand over heart, it may be a small detail but it was noticeable.
Interesting given that the song came into being because one of your admirals broke off what was meant to be an agreed upon negotiation, imprisoned the American sent to negotiate, and shelled the fort for an entire night with the goal being to take out our flag in an effort to break the forts defenders.
I can imagine an Ace Combat final cutscene where the mute protagonist destroys a continent ending kinetic weapon seconds before impact while this plays in the radio when the pilot tries to find the perfect angle to shoot
I stumbled across these videos a few years ago, and they always move me in ways I cannot articulate. Just found the 2024 version. This is absolutely amazing.
I can’t wait for the 2025 state version so proud of Kentucky this is absolutely beautiful and it puts tears to my eyes every time this is who should be singing for America so proud
This is beautiful I’m a proud daughter of a retired United States Army national guard veteran this makes me cry it’s beautiful this is how the America should sing the national anthem so proud
Thank you for not trying to “fancy” the anthem any. I appreciate it being sang the way it was meant to be. The Anthem represents so much more to me than you kids might realize. I hope you all understand the weight of this opportunity and know that it was done so beautifully that people have cried tears of love listening to it.
There is a famous quote that goes something like this. It is always darkest before the dawn. Well I’ll just be damned, it looks like the old red, white and blue’s seeing the sun for the first time in a long time.
I was blessed enough to get to participate in this choir for several years when i was in school. Being there and experiencing this first hand, and being one of the people involved in making this beautiful collective sound, its so moving that its emotional. Its a real treasure to experience this first hand, hearing the sounds and feeling the reverberation through your body... theres nothing like it. Im so glad this tradition has lived on for so many years ❤
Now this is what America SOUNDS LIKE…as a musician, and a proud citizen of this country, this made me cry…a lot…because I’m so proud to be apart of this amazing country…
Ok, I need to know when the All State Choir conference is next year so I can hop over to the Hyatt Regency and hear this live. How can I not when I'm a Louisvillian and this is so beautiful??
I've said it before, and I'll say it again, someone needs to do a professional audio recording of this, with super high end microphones placed expertly throughout this area; like suspended in the open area. That would be so fun to hear.
You know, I wondered for years why for centuries people have fighted, tried to enter, and protect America. I wondered how people could love it so much. I thought America was just like any other nation and wondered why my grandfather would tell me “you were so lucky to be born here”. Now I finally understand. America excepts everyone. No matter their gender, race, religion, background, or sexuality. It’s like everyone in this hotel singing this anthem. It’s not just one person or specific type of people, it’s everyone. Anyone who wants to can sing it, anyone who wants to can be a part of it, they just have to know the words. That is why America is worth protecting, worth fighting for. I know this sounds lame, but I don’t care. I love my country and am proud to be apart of it.
I was studying for an exam, and this popped up; I think this is the best video I have seen in a very long time. Thank you for making my day a little bit better. God Bless America!!🦅
O....m....g! I have seen video of this choir doing this tradition, and I have never heard of version of The Star-Spangled banner this more intense and more prouder in my life! Whoever hit those higher notes, I was amazed! That sent shivers down my spine absolutely 1 billion percent, well done Young people!
This is who should be singing at the Super Bowl
I agree and that way it doesn’t sound crappy like it always does
I so agree with you
Thank you! I was part of this
I was apart of this as well it means so much!
Proud to say I'm in the same class in one of the groups, two of my best friends in there singing rn they did amazing, wish I auditioned for all state, def will next year tho
Can we agree that everyone gets goosebumps watching this?
I get them every year. Its on my bucket list to see this in person.
Every year, every time.
Yes!
Don't forget to add cried a few tears too.
Except liberals

I'm Welsh, and even i stood up!
Brilliant
If this doesn't bring tears to your eyes somethings wrong. Brings hope to this crazy world. God bless those singers. Love it
I totally agree!
Amazing 🇺🇸
❤🤍💙 Heart is full & tears are overflowing. It’s the most beautiful anthem especially when All Of America sings it together. ❤
We’re down on floor 3. This is my first year experiencing this in person, and this was so much more angelic than I ever imagined. Can’t wait to hear our concerts on Friday!
Hey! Saw you down there- on the video from across the country.
I was on floor 15!
I was on the 16th floor
I was on floor two!
I cried...my dad and brothers served in the military...my brother Frank passed away from Agent Orange. American proud 🇱🇷🇱🇷🇱🇷
I hate to say that sir, but that is wrong flag. This flag is right one🇺🇲. This one is Liberia flag🇱🇷.
😭 May he rest in peace
Rest in peace. Will defend.
Nahhhh, bro's fake American. Used the wrong flag fr
I called the hotel and I knew it had to be soon. Turns out it was tonight.. Look forward to this every year.
I enjoy hearing it every year also
What hotel, and when is this???
Sending love from Britain @@loganwgriffith

1:54-2:05 Brrrruuuuuh! I swear there's some unspoken competition to add more overtones or see who can get the highest note on this part every year. XD
Every year!
At least they did it very well, instead of getting a voice crack.😅
It'd be awesome if they also had some low basses to octave the B-flat at the end.
I just looked it up. I too, love watching this every year 💗
That high note at free was amazing
Is it possible if we track down that soprano?

Cathedral? This is Lady Liberty's personal choir of Angels sent by God....
LOVE THIS every year!!!

I’m the girl in the gray on floor 8 with two other girls. What a clutch video, you’ve got the best view to see all the floors 🫡
Yoooo I was on the 15th floor the view was gorgeous
it seems i have come to expect this all state choir conference and to hear how majestic you all sound each yeaar, and listen in joy with a tear in my eye to this great Anthem
This is the most beautiful version of our National Anthem I have ever heard. God Bless America 🇺🇸

We’re going to be hearing this one more time when Trump becomes our President again
God Bless U.S.A. With Love from British Columbia, Vancouver! U.S.A. is a beacon of hope of Freedom in this volatile world of today.
America! Dont give up! Fight for our freedoms!....Again! Together!
Absolute legends! KEEP IT UP, KY!
Thank you to everyone that participated in this!
no matter how many times I see this, it never gets old.
All-State member '04-'05, watching this on July 4th. Happy to see this tradition still lives
This choir never ceases to amaze me, and make me tear up with how angelic it is. It just so happens that I'm watching this on Memorial Day 2024. It was never my intention today to so, but I am glad I did.
I come to this channel every year for this. Beautiful ethereal sound ❤
This is the America I grew up in. I pray to God we can get this back soon. ❤
🙏🏼 🙏🏼
This was filmed in 2024.
Just gotta vote out the nazis.
Amen
Everything in this song flows so perfectly. Thank goodness no excessive high notes.

I heard a few tho.
I got tears in my eyes. It’s not just the fact that it’s an amazing rendition, but the fact that everyone here are unified in this. It shows me what’s still possible in America.
YEAH KENTUCKY CHOIR
i was a part of that!!! :3 everyone did so well i love you choir friends
Hello fellow all state singer
@@yaboichris1247 heyyyy!!
You guys are amazing! I remember being in choir in high school. It's a thrill to be part of that "big" noise. Me too!! Love you!

Fabulous. The acoustics in that place are perfect! God bless them all and God bless America
I LOVE this so much!!
I made ALL State in 1994 as an Alto
I met so many great people and I miss singing with everyone!!!!
So often our young people get a " bumb rap" by society.....these kids deserve the highest of praises for a magnificent performance of our national anthem.....at a time when our nation needs hearing it so much. BRAVO ❤
I can't quit crying now. That was the most amazingly stunning rendition of this song I've ever heard. Great job you guys. Show 'em how it's done!
Thanks for singing annually. God bless America.
The high note on “free” is nailed every year and gives me goosebumps
The fact it’s traditional to do this song each time the choirs are there and they get it spot on each time ❤
I can hear this 1000 times and I will get emotional 1000 times. The only thing that disappointed me was seeing virtually no one with hand over heart, it may be a small detail but it was noticeable.
This is what every National Anthem should sound like. Moving, emotional, and triumphant. Get this choir to all important sporting events.
Hell I'm British and this makes me feel patriotic lol
Interesting given that the song came into being because one of your admirals broke off what was meant to be an agreed upon negotiation, imprisoned the American sent to negotiate, and shelled the fort for an entire night with the goal being to take out our flag in an effort to break the forts defenders.
@@RoadWarden yeah... we've been absolute bastards in the history books. Not that our history lessons like to highlight that lol
Most patriotic country, this people stand one by one and never surrender. God bless America!
Beautiful, thanks to you all for sharing this with us, God Bless America!
I can imagine an Ace Combat final cutscene where the mute protagonist destroys a continent ending kinetic weapon seconds before impact while this plays in the radio when the pilot tries to find the perfect angle to shoot

This was always a highlight at the KMEA Convention each year that I attended until retirement in 2004.
A few of my friends made high school All-State this year, they sound absolutely amazing.
What a great singing group!! Proud to be a Kentuckian by choice!!!!!!!!!!!

Wonderful. One can only hope the US government will one day be able to truly live up to the promise of its peoples.
In what way does it currently fail?
They should be singing the National Anthem on Cincinnati Reds Opening Day this year .
