    Those Worcester cases are pretty shocking anyway, but it's rare for the plastic runner to fall off. You can buy a runner repair/ replacement kit. I've done a few over the years. It's normally the casing screws that get dislocated in the plastic moulding and you have to lever them back into position before you refit the case. The lack of sleeving on a gas pipe is on another level

    A gas pipe without a sleave is classed as at risk and only worthy of a warning notice.. a self tapping screw will sort out the loose case out 😅. Stop being so dramatic FFS.

      A gas pipe passing through a cavity wall is not at risk unless it enters from within a meter box or is showing significant signs of distress as per IGEM/G/11 EDITION 2. notable at worst, your blood pressure must be through the roof 🤣

    I’m baffled by why the pipes are Sup bonded like this, even when the copper pipes all go up to the boiler metal plate are they not all touching bonded there 🤔

    • @user-yw6qb9tt7t
      @user-yw6qb9tt7t 2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Electricians regs stopped requiring this for installs after 2008 when the 17th edition of BS7671 came in. Must be a heating engineer job then or a confused electrician! 😀

      From an electrician and gas engineer here...it is no bad thing putting supplementary bonding across those pipes. Considering the state of wiring in many properties, unless you are absolutely confident in the electrical installation then having that bonding is an extra safety precaution.

    Hi Allen,
    Would love if you could do a video on your views of the government offering £5000 from April next year to encourage homeowners to get rid of boilers and to install Air sourced heating pumps.
    Personally I’m all for the world looking to go greener, but this news has brought concerns to me in a career path. As I’m due to start a Gas courses in 2 weeks time, so I’ve paid a lot of money and concerned will I have longevity of possible work?
    I was encouraged that the government would support Hydrogen boilers but they seem to be pushing more support towards ASHP systems.
    Could you offer any advice or information you may know about as someone within the trade.
    I know 2035 is the year that the natural gas boilers will be banned(from being made/installed). Do you reckon that this is still a career pathway that’s still could be providing work?
    Thanks

      10 years to turn off the gas? What is people can't get an airforce heat pump installed? They just go cold? £5000 isn't a drop in the ocean for the cost of supplying installing an AHP.. I would not worry personally as hydrogen may come in before then.. do the course now and you will earn the money back in a few jobs..
