Hi I saw your videos and I really enjoyed it keep up the good work.
I have a Main Eco 30 Combi boiler I was fitted about 7 years ago, the whole pipe work is new and radiators.
There is one thing that annoys me on my boiler is that when ever is ignites it makes a small tiny explosive noise you can hear it from far 😫
I have so far replaced the electrodes since it was old and bent (it was working but I wanted to avoid it failing), the heat exchanger was hoovered and the seal was replaced, the diverter valve and actuator was replaced (since a small leak damaged it).
I have regularly flashed the water out using the drain point and running the boiler and keeping an eye on the pressure (the water is never too dark and flush it until it is clear water, I added some inhabitors, clean the filter out and took the air out of the rads, it is well balanced too.
I had to pressurise the extension vessel which is good now, on the same time I took the prv out and cleaned it very little dirt on it it’s working good, I also cleaned out the part in which condensation and other dirt accumulate.
There is one thing that annoys me on my boiler is that when ever is ignites it makes a small tiny explosive noise you can hear it from far 😫, you could describe it like a small delayed ignition 🤷🏽‍♂️
What would you recommend to check?

Alan, i have messaged you before, about boilers, and the extension that we are having built right now, anyway the builders said to me you pick any boiler you want and we will fit it for you, so i chose the ideal vogue, i hope that your ok with that one as it now comes with 12 years warranty i am told,it will connect to 10 rads ,but we are just a 4 bed semi, and as a fan of you and your work i thought i would check out my decision with you before buying, Ps its not a combi, we have a 36/18 prelagged, Thanks again for all you video,s

I have just had a gas service engineer at my council property ( a ground floor flat ) to conduct a service on my gas boiler. One of the first things he did was go into my bathroom he had something in his hand I asked was he looking for a plug socket? he replied no I’m looking for a window I was in the kitchen by the kitchen window he asked could I put a probe through the kitchen window. I did and told him that is the first time a gas engineer from his company and the previous company had asked to or did that. His reply was that they should. Put a probe through a window. Then moaning about the poor access to the boiler in the cupboard. he was going to report the poor access to the boiler. He proceeded to take the cover off the boiler and as far as I know, serviced the boiler. I was not paying much attention but did not see him check gas supplies to my meter as other engineers have done. The previous gas service company, engineers, would clean the boiler with a vacuum. The present company that service the boilers does not clean with a vacuum. On previous visits from this company, they have gone into my kitchen and checked my gas cooker This time he did not. While I was stood at the sink doing the same dishes, he came behind me, and I believe he took some pictures of the appliances I have in my kitchen. He was at my property, no longer than 40 minutes as I had time to do some dishes, boil the kettle and use my toaster he sent all done and left could I have some feedback please?

Hi Allen, have you had any issues with rain water in stormy weather being blown into the outer section/air intake on the flue on ideal boilers? I have an ideal vogue, with a horizontal flue. There is no white showing, it's all fitted correctly. It's just seems to be in high winds in a certain direction the rain is blown into the flue and drops to the bottom of the vogue and drips out via one of the holes at the bottom.
Any ideas on what we can do to resolve, installer installed a cage over the flue which improved it but when really stormy we still get rain water in. Thanks - love the videos!

That trap seemed very rusty. Strange.
Those primary heat exchangers are made by Giannoni. Who make them for several manufacturers. But I'm sure you already know that. Looks like a 3 coil one. Unless you've got a clean system they're prone to clogging up because you don't get full pressure around each coil.
The only reason Ideal are giving such long warranties is because of the bad name they got over the Isar models which were fitted all over the place under various grant schemes.

If the flue analysis results were correct you shouldn’t have stripped down the main heat exchanger chamber (stated in the manufacturers instructions). You can be doing more harm to the boiler in long term.
I felt like you went overboard with that service. From removable of combustion chamber then the acid I was waiting for you to strip down the pump assembly haha.
