Wow having a bad relationship with Johnny has vastly different dialogue for both Johnny and V. Love the amount of effort they put into this DLC. Fuck seeing V and Johnny talk like this hurts. By the end he's always been my g. Hands down Keanu's best performance. He's sick as John Wick and Neo but he gives such a great character performance with nuance. God damn after finishing it and hearing him again tell you "Don't let anyone change who you are" it kills me.
Essentially Johnny is what causes things to be tasteful and meaningful. Without him things wither and become bland and empty. It may be bad killing you but better dead and surrounded by people who care about you and Johnny free on the net with his lover and co-digital partner. In the end you both are legends and you became a legend because of the guidance he offered you every step of the way. He was learning from you and you were learning from him.
I mean do the people that care about you actually really care about you? In all the endings, if you don't go through with what they want they leave you. If you decide to stay in NC and try to live your last couple months as an NC legend, Judy and Panam leave. They only stay with you if you choose to go along with what *they* want. In the Tower ending, they don't want anything to do with you. So the question is, did they genuinely care about you? Or was it because you were useful to them? If you don't do their missions and dirty work, you won't even have a relationship with them in the first place. I find the Tower ending to be the best, V smiles in the end because he witnessed first hand that you can recover from hitting rock bottom and losing everything. Listening to how Misty recovered after losing Jackie, V and her shop, and listening to how Judy found happiness after losing her hometown, Evelyn and V. The Tower ending reveals a new hope that V can one day find real happiness and not be dragged down by other people's decisions. The only people that ever genuinely cared about V were Misty, Jackie, Viktor and Johnny. Hell, if you're on good terms with Johnny he wants V to make his own decisions and not force his own ideals onto him unlike Judy and Panam. Just my take on it.
@@krisskrosssss I wouldn't say that they are using you. and they do care for you, but people need to put in perspective here how long did they really know V? the events of this game takes the span of 6 month or less, that's not a lot of time to create any roots that would make people commit years of supporting you if there is a life changing event. Those type of relations takes more than just a year or two to create. So its perfectly understandable that River, Panam, Judy, Kerry did not stick by you at the end. And its not because of not having genuine care, its just simply not having enough time to form that type of relationship even for romantics. Misty, Jackie and Vic on the other hand had potentially several years of knowing V so makes perfect sense they will stick by him after 2 years of coma or whatever other decision like driving off into the sunset etc. since they have a far stronger bond due to the years. Johnny is a special case since he lives in us

Hearing Johnny, what can loosely be described as, begging you for his life got to me. Here's a man who went out in a blaze of glory, sticking it to the man, only to be revived and killed again not with a bang, but with a goodbye. And when he sees the doctor inject V with a neuro-suppressor, the look of sadness on his face is all too real. It basically screams. "Shit... guess that's that."

At this point, I'd pay a good $20 JUST for a "Happy Ending" DLC. One which unlocks when you help everyone and do all major side quests, one in which all your friends gather to help you, TW3 Battle of Kaer Morhen style.

But gave him credit where credit was due. And what matters most, is that Johnny did change. Too bad that it was already too late. But in the end, getting to live with the feeling of Icarus who landed is worth it. What's the point in becoming another dead legend on a menu in a bar? I choose a quiet life, mister DeShawn.
The true ending for me is still “Don’t Fear The Reaper”…and V giving Johnny his body…still a shitty ending but there are no happy endings in Night City…Johnny got a second chance and can also carry on V’s legacy…and V got his wish…he became a legend and will be remembered as the most badass merc in NC history…it was fucking sad seeing him look like a straight up NPC while watching everything he wanted to live for losing every meaning..no Johnny,no Panam,no Misty,no Vik…nobody
But look at the end again, right before he turns around and walks away he has a slight smirk. He has a new chance at a full life, the ending is definitely still sad, but V took it well and has a chance to live a quiet life
In my headcanon as v dozes off, she manages "johnny, i love u" i wanted this so badly while playing this ending and they almost gave it to us, "Goodnight Valerie" absolutely gutted me
the % means nothing, in order to become friends with johnny you have to choose dialogues with him at his grave. I have a bug where even with high % and correctly chosen answers at his grave johnny doesnt call me his friend, i had to use console commands to fix this

On Johhny's garve you need to choose lines such as "you fucked up our relationship", "what do you want from me" and "ok, I'll give you a second chance". Those lines will make you and Johhny friends
I know everyone says “ah you’ve got to pick the right dialogue options” on the oil fields but I think it’s silly you can have high relationship/friendship for majority of the game and then he acts like we never saw eye to eye. Finished the DLC last night. I got to the point where Johnny asks you not to call Reed and I just couldn't go through with it. I already betrayed him in my first playthrough by thinking taking Hanakos offer was the best choice. Learned after that ending that listening to Johnny is usually the best choice, so i went back and made a different choice. So I loaded an old save and went through with the ending where you send Songbird to the moon, and once that was done I did the (Don't Fear) The Reaper ending, ending everything on my own and Johnny's terms. Really felt like the best possible choice. Love this game so fucking much.
I know there are no happy endings in Night City. But something about all variations of this ending just rips me apart in a way the OG endings never did.
Me too here (%85). Maybe its about the dialogue choices back in the oil fields. I always tried to comfort Johnny so didn’t choose the don’t fear the reaper ending ones. Would be so happy if someone enlightens me.
I did a quick search in forums and apperantly the only thing that affects the ending dialogue is the choice you have made back in the oil fields. Realitionship percentage doesnt really matter at all. I was going to do a second playthrough anyway.
i like the ending but one thing bothers me ,if v goes to arasaka tower, sees that shit doesnt work and they'll still die anyway ,why not go to the FIA after the attack and get the surgery then? johnny will live, sure prolly v will still be in a coma for two years and lose all friends but johnny gets to go on the net and live on having known he tried everything he could
IIRC there's no V after the Mikoshi, as it's now a construct of them. So my guess would be that FIA can't help V as they're now an another relic trapped inside their body. (But you know the real answer - CDPR just want this game to end as unhappy and unsatisfactory as possible to live up to that stupid "no happy endings" rule)
One explanation might be that V might be considered a terrorist after the fact, and the NUSA/Myers refuses to hold up their end of the deal and get caught helping a widely known, legendary-status terrorist. Wouldn't be worth an election loss, or loss of corp donors and supporters that would take away support after learning the NUSA is helping a terrorist. That's my best guess, anyway.
I love the fact that for the entire base game you are looking for a way to get the chip out without dying and the DLC gives you just that but the price you gotta pay is so high no one actually wants to go through with it
Was so satisfying hearing my corpo V telling Jonny to go to hell as the last thing he hears before that rockerboy-shaped tumor is excised and flushed for good. Rage, rage against the dying of the light, you annoyingly talkative quest item. In this ending, V stands for Victory.
Honestly i was not expecting a happy ending for cyberpunk, that's a tragic story, i like how those ending were writen, for me they felt kind of realistic, people move on, decisions need to be made, not all stories end good, not all stories need a good ending. At least is just what i think.
@@manugames92 Well, technically in night city uncertainty is what reign in everyone lives, specially with V, at least here he/she has a chance to find her/his path, it's not happy but it's a chance, at certain point, all V's way was to find a chance to live. But i agree that are better ways to write this ending, i still love it though.
I really can't think why anyone would wanna have a bad relationship with Johnny, his charisma overshadows all of his bad values and he's played by the best Hollywood actor of all time, a recipe for an amazing character
he doesn't even have bad values, he just doesn't know how to make a meaningful change, is generally anxious and angry at the state of the world anyway and made stupid decisions as a result
I don’t like choosing this ending, V becoming a face in the crowd after missing out on all their friends lives feels wrong, dying early with your friends and family (and Johnny) is the only way I can see V going, becoming another face in the crowd almost feels worse, plus I can’t side with Solomon as much as I like him.
100%. This ending is definitely one of the bad ones. I think the whole point of cyberpunk is trying to hit the major leagues but along the way you discover that being with loved ones is more important and even thought you will die, its infinitely better and more meaningful. This ending contradicts that. Not only do you lose your friends but you don't even get to be a legend, just some nobody who has no one
I love Johnny so much that I always hate that no matter what your relationship with him is you always end on bad terms and you end up more broken then the game's beginning. Ending it with a cordial goodbye (especially when if you try tro sacrifice yourself in Mikoshi Johnny shows care about V and doesn't want him to die) is way better then basically being broke and jobless.

That's why Rogue asks V to don't go back to the afterlife anymore if you want to keep your status as a legend. But yet, you get that bitter feeling of seeing yourself becoming a legend but in third person, watching far from the distance between the crowd.
maybe it’s just me but i’d choose the storming of arasaka with only johnny, is it happy? no, but we as humans only have ideals and family, friends and without those we are nothing, so without them or not wanting to sacrifice them with the inevitable death, why fear the reaper? it’s not about the drink, it’s about living life to the fullest of what makes you feel whole
Before getting the ending I had 85% affinity with Johnny and completed Chippin' in but still I ended up getting the bad conversation with Johnny, not really sure why
This ending is really sad but not the worst in my opinion. V got a third life, maybe hard but she can still do something cool and valuable in her life. In real world we always lose something and someone but still keep going whatever will happens and have memories, only good ones in time. I hope V keep the promise to Johnny. Man, what a game CDPR create.
I feel bad for Johnny. V is acting like it was Johnny's choice to invade her body. Always playing the "It's my choice cause my body" card, even though she'd be dead if it weren't for Johnny rebooting her. And there were many situations where Johnny could've easily taken full control of V's body prior to PL, and he didn't do it- purely out of good will. To then go and take Reed's deal literally murdering Johnny is just straight up evil. Johnny has just as much a say in this as V does. Having Johnny beg V for his lfe is wrong in so many ways.
Just bugs me that we can't get Johnny on the net and then call up Reed after to get the engram removed. Would've been the best ending for both involved, imo.
Remember hat scene where Johnny asked V if they'd take a bullet for him? Yeah, my V was dead serious when she said she would so - basically, I wouldn't touch this ending with a ten foot pole if it were the only ending to this game.

you get 70% for calling him out on his BS, letting him know he's on thin ice but still giving him a second chance. He lied about what he was gonna do with your body, got wasted, got a tattoo, got his ass kicked, got in a car wreck, and almost banged someone V may or may not have wanted to have sex with, depending on your V. If you still suck up to him and be nice after that, that's not a good/healthy relationship at all, and from there he'll see he can walk all over V pretty much whenever. I'd say that actually makes it much more realistic than most video game dialogue. If you're too nice to him after all that, then why would he would never see any reason to change or stop being so selfish? Just like anyone in real life really

I wish the sun ending will be the canon one but I have no reliable source to confirm that😔. Edit: now that I think about it, all ending being canon is also possible. CDPR did the same thing in witcher 3.(In witcher 3 you can select which story you chose in witcher 2 and then it will be canon in witcher 3). But then again, we all know that the yennefer is the canon and not triss.(lets see how they handles this in witcher 4)

Silverhand is the reason V is still alive. Literally speaking, It IS his life despite being stuck in a body with V. I still cant wrap my head around this soul killer shit. But somehow they managed to throw Johnny’s whole existence on to that chip. Not just a copy. When V lost his life to Dex, his body became a literal vessel for Johnny to take over and come back to life.
Interesting ending. Though it feels like writers overdid it. I still prefer the temperance ending. 1) Arasaka is weakened. 2) Smasher is dead 3) everyone is alive 4) V commits the greatest virtue saving Johnny. Sacrfices the dream of becoming NC legend to save a friend. I know that cyberpunk is about saving yourself, but I came to conclusion that it is more about doing what's right. At least in that case. The sun is great as well, just not for me. the idea of V having pathetic 6 months to live though achieving the status of the legend does not stick with my views.

I got the "do you think we could forgive each other" and it broke me.
Finished the DLC last night. I got to the point where Johnny asks you not to call Reed and I just couldn't go through with it. I already betrayed him in my first playthrough by thinking taking Hanakos offer was the best choice. Learned after that ending that listening to Johnny is usually the best choice, so i went back and made a different choice.
So I loaded an old save and went through with the ending where you send Songbird to the moon, and once that was done I did the (Don't Fear) The Reaper ending, ending everything on my own and Johnny's terms. Really felt like the best possible choice.
Love this game so fucking much.

Me too here (%85). Maybe its about the dialogue choices back in the oil fields. I always tried to comfort Johnny so didn’t choose the don’t fear the reaper ending ones. Would be so happy if someone enlightens me.
I did a quick search in forums and apperantly the only thing that affects the ending dialogue is the choice you have made back in the oil fields. Realitionship percentage doesnt really matter at all. I was going to do a second playthrough anyway.
i like the ending but one thing bothers me ,if v goes to arasaka tower, sees that shit doesnt work and they'll still die anyway ,why not go to the FIA after the attack and get the surgery then? johnny will live, sure prolly v will still be in a coma for two years and lose all friends but johnny gets to go on the net and live on having known he tried everything he could
IIRC there's no V after the Mikoshi, as it's now a construct of them. So my guess would be that FIA can't help V as they're now an another relic trapped inside their body. (But you know the real answer - CDPR just want this game to end as unhappy and unsatisfactory as possible to live up to that stupid "no happy endings" rule)

One explanation might be that V might be considered a terrorist after the fact, and the NUSA/Myers refuses to hold up their end of the deal and get caught helping a widely known, legendary-status terrorist. Wouldn't be worth an election loss, or loss of corp donors and supporters that would take away support after learning the NUSA is helping a terrorist. That's my best guess, anyway.

I love the fact that for the entire base game you are looking for a way to get the chip out without dying and the DLC gives you just that but the price you gotta pay is so high no one actually wants to go through with it

Honestly i was not expecting a happy ending for cyberpunk, that's a tragic story, i like how those ending were writen, for me they felt kind of realistic, people move on, decisions need to be made, not all stories end good, not all stories need a good ending. At least is just what i think.

I really can't think why anyone would wanna have a bad relationship with Johnny, his charisma overshadows all of his bad values and he's played by the best Hollywood actor of all time, a recipe for an amazing character
he doesn't even have bad values, he just doesn't know how to make a meaningful change, is generally anxious and angry at the state of the world anyway and made stupid decisions as a result

I don’t like choosing this ending, V becoming a face in the crowd after missing out on all their friends lives feels wrong, dying early with your friends and family (and Johnny) is the only way I can see V going, becoming another face in the crowd almost feels worse, plus I can’t side with Solomon as much as I like him.
100%. This ending is definitely one of the bad ones. I think the whole point of cyberpunk is trying to hit the major leagues but along the way you discover that being with loved ones is more important and even thought you will die, its infinitely better and more meaningful. This ending contradicts that. Not only do you lose your friends but you don't even get to be a legend, just some nobody who has no one

I love Johnny so much that I always hate that no matter what your relationship with him is you always end on bad terms and you end up more broken then the game's beginning. Ending it with a cordial goodbye (especially when if you try tro sacrifice yourself in Mikoshi Johnny shows care about V and doesn't want him to die) is way better then basically being broke and jobless.
I feel the same, that ending feels just…Wrong in every possible way, at least you can Leave Johnny with Alt in the other ones

This ending is the worst because at the end V is alone,weak and can't do anything,the best ending is still Don't Fear the Reaper
This ending is really sad but not the worst in my opinion. V got a third life, maybe hard but she can still do something cool and valuable in her life. In real world we always lose something and someone but still keep going whatever will happens and have memories, only good ones in time. I hope V keep the promise to Johnny. Man, what a game CDPR create.

I feel bad for Johnny.
V is acting like it was Johnny's choice to invade her body.
Always playing the "It's my choice cause my body" card, even though she'd be dead if it weren't for Johnny rebooting her.
And there were many situations where Johnny could've easily taken full control of V's body prior to PL, and he didn't do it- purely out of good will.
To then go and take Reed's deal literally murdering Johnny is just straight up evil. Johnny has just as much a say in this as V does. Having Johnny beg V for his lfe is wrong in so many ways.
Just bugs me that we can't get Johnny on the net and then call up Reed after to get the engram removed. Would've been the best ending for both involved, imo.
Remember hat scene where Johnny asked V if they'd take a bullet for him? Yeah, my V was dead serious when she said she would so - basically, I wouldn't touch this ending with a ten foot pole if it were the only ending to this game.

I'm assuming you only get the best dialogue if you have >70% relationship, AKA treating Johnny like sh*t by his grave? I was kind to him, and apparently that doesn't give you the best relationship. Lmao, still nonsensical.
Johnny will be in good terms after completing Chipin' in, before that we'll get the grudge dialogues in here.
you get 70% for calling him out on his BS, letting him know he's on thin ice but still giving him a second chance. He lied about what he was gonna do with your body, got wasted, got a tattoo, got his ass kicked, got in a car wreck, and almost banged someone V may or may not have wanted to have sex with, depending on your V.
If you still suck up to him and be nice after that, that's not a good/healthy relationship at all, and from there he'll see he can walk all over V pretty much whenever.
I'd say that actually makes it much more realistic than most video game dialogue.
If you're too nice to him after all that, then why would he would never see any reason to change or stop being so selfish? Just like anyone in real life really
Yup. Happened to me too, I suppose that's what you get for being overly nice to someone. Sure, it may be "realistic" but in the context of a video game where you can morph your entire body with a faceplate, it's just strange.

@@cennix I heard shroud saying this in his twitch. I don't know his source.(it might just be a rumor) But there can only be one canon ending for the next game(otherwise we are going into multiverse). I wish the sun ending will be the canon one but I have no reliable source to confirm that😔.
Edit: now that I think about it, all ending being canon is also possible. CDPR did the same thing in witcher 3.(In witcher 3 you can select which story you chose in witcher 2 and then it will be canon in witcher 3).
But then again, we all know that the yennefer is the canon and not triss.(lets see how they handles this in witcher 4)

Silverhand is the reason V is still alive. Literally speaking, It IS his life despite being stuck in a body with V. I still cant wrap my head around this soul killer shit. But somehow they managed to throw Johnny’s whole existence on to that chip. Not just a copy. When V lost his life to Dex, his body became a literal vessel for Johnny to take over and come back to life.
Interesting ending. Though it feels like writers overdid it. I still prefer the temperance ending. 1) Arasaka is weakened. 2) Smasher is dead 3) everyone is alive 4) V commits the greatest virtue saving Johnny. Sacrfices the dream of becoming NC legend to save a friend. I know that cyberpunk is about saving yourself, but I came to conclusion that it is more about doing what's right. At least in that case. The sun is great as well, just not for me. the idea of V having pathetic 6 months to live though achieving the status of the legend does not stick with my views.
