@@kizunadragon9 throughout the entire game I never saw anyone holding a smartphone until I tried riding the metro and saw someone holding a complete brick of a phone. It's like they've advanced so far with cyberware tech that the smartphones of the time have devolved into Nokia bricks again xD

@@ylethyrbrekan5993 Well tech that's a surgery ending too. But at least you still got your abilities. Living a life and no longer being able to live it tbh is worse than death. No doubt that in less than 6 months V puts a bullet in the back of their head. But instead of taking their life in their own hands like the suicide ending, it would be out of pure depression.
I still stand in my opinion that the stars ending is the best, because of the reading at the end that says we have a bright future. Can't be bright if you're dead, so surely both the stars and sun ending leads to surviving with abilities in tact but the stars seems a little brighter even if they are no longer in NC.

I feel the link has always gone both ways, and this proves it to me. V and Johnny got the best of each other. While I wouldn’t say Johnny became “nice” he did become far more empathetic, much like V was in the beginning. V, meanwhile, got Johnny’s determination and attitude, giving him the strength to see this wild rodeo to the end.
In short, these two are absolutely dope, and had they both been around in two separate bodies, would’ve absolutely torn NC up.

Jonny in the campaign is cynical as hell most of the time, but in Phantom Liberty, he was the only voicr of reason we had access to in the story. He was on point all throughout PL.

I never realize how much I like having Silverhand shit talking my bad decision making until that sequence in Cynosure where he was cut off along side your sandevistan, I was so lonely and mildly annoyed by the death bot that occasionally gives out free lobotomy
There were so many moments I wanted Johnny to pop up and be an asshole to me, but he just wasn't there all that much. Which I honestly kind of liked. It's like he was teaching V a lesson by allowing himself to get roped into this whole plot going on. It's only until V is in too deep that Johnny starts giving his opinion on the situation.

Gotta admit that made me laugh. Such a great response from Johnny/ Keanu because it’s pretty true as they both share V’s body.
I like the one where Reed puts the gun to your ribs at the park and V says "who's behind me Johnny?" and he goes "How the fuck should I know? I can only see what you see, remember?"

Because I always thought it fun to imagine he just gets to chose where or how he appears to V in a scenario but it makes you forget that he isn't actually able to see what V can't. But it's weird how for example, only a few minutes prior he was showing V how to use the handset phone.
The only thing I can guess is that since they share one mind, V just projects his image onto the world to cope with the mental load of having two people at once in their mind.

So at the end of the day the best options for V and johnny is Don't fear the reaper or Run of with Panam.
I rather have johnny run off in cyberspace than have him erased entirely. while V either gets a good rest of his life with panam or becoming a legend
I think the perfect canon ending would be V and Johnny going in alone in Don’t Fear the Reaper, succeeding, and V deciding that instead of staying in Night City, he leaves with Panam. That would make him even more of a Night City Legend. Then, some time after he leaves, he could get the surgery to have the chip removed. Whether he can keep using his cyberware or not, he would still be with Panam and the Aldecaldos.

@@MusicFan-qc1igStill surprised there is no ending where V says fuck it and just go with Johnny beyond the Blackwall if he's goes in alone and learns he only has six months to live. Yeah it's another depressing ending where his body dies and he leaves everyone behind, but still would be interesting to seeing what happened depending on whose missions you did. Plus the prospect of becoming a rogue ai is a fun idea.

Johnny was the best part of Cyberpunk to me, and Keanu was just perfect for him
Did the surgery ending yesterday, it fucking broke me when Johnny started to feel sad as we made the choice to call Reed, and that whole talk in AV and everything that comes after. Everyone one V knew had moved on except for Misty and Vick. Makes me realize how true of a friend they and Johnny were despite everything, bet if Johnny were alive in anyway he would've still stuck by us. Cherry on top when he calls V with her/his real name. It broke me. I have mixed feeling about this ending, although I like V got to live, but with a big price losing our best friend, losing love interest, and few other ppl we considered closest had moved on. But in the end I would like to believe V made peace with it, with her smiling in cutscene, possibly taking that job offer too from Reed.
River and Kerry stick by you even after, Kerry instantly offers everything at his disposal when he sees V again and River immediately apologizes and offers help after hearing about the coma, despite being upset you unwillingly ghosted him. Judy and Panam are just too what’s the word……..nomad to consider waiting.
Nah, River is questionable as for Kerry, he sticks with her/him but he's not someone who was there when V needed someone the most. Kinda sad cus V was there when Kerry was at his low point and pretty much got him back on his feet albeit it was Johnny too. @@korpsmaninfantry7238
@@korpsmaninfantry7238 Judy and Panam are justified though. Both have had problems in the past with relationships where they end up hurt, so they're slow to let people in. Then, when they finally do let someone in who's fully open about probably dying within a few weeks/months, they say "hey i'll be gone for a few weeks but I cant say why", and then disappear for TWO WHOLE YEARS. They've both called you over and over a fuckload of times to no avail, so either you've A) Totally ghosted them after you keep affirming how you'll be there for them no matter what, or B) Just straight up fucking died like you've been telling them you will. Of course they've moved on, hell Judy doesn't even say "never contact me again", just that she's happy in her relationship and doesn't wanna hurt that, meanwhile Panam has a Nomand clan to lead and is probably CONSTANTLY busy.
I kinda hate it how people are like "grr they moved on after 2 years of thinking V had abandoned them or died. They should have done nothing with themselves in the extremely unlikely chance they'd be back if they died, or thrown their doors back open if they had just fucking ghosted them like a pure asshole >:(". Like yea, of course they moved on. That's part of the grieving process, self centred pricks.

It's interesting to see Johnny say that Song had good luck if you get her on the rocket and kill Reed, but he claims the had the worst luck when you hand her over to Reed and save yourself. It occurs to me that there really wasn't any luck at all. It was a choice. V's choice.

Honestly there are no good endings to Phantom Liberty. Even if I agree with Song Bird's wishes she still lied to me and dragged me into a life or death scenario when I am on borrowed time as it is, with her false promises. Worse I have to kill Reed who I do not hate as a person, as the man tries to do right by his crew even though he works for people who hold him and them in little regard. However, I hate the idea of handing Song bird over to her former masters BECAUSE of what they did to her and the way they've treated Reed and his crew. The only good thing to come out of Phantom Liberty's storyline for V, is the idea that some kind of cure exists. I'll take that knowledge and hope for the best when I leave Night City behind to travel with Panam and her family.

Reed’s ending is sad but there’s plenty of life left for V to live. Depending on your dialogue it can end on a kinda hopeful note tbh. The Desk Job is kinda ass but it means V has a way to make money still which is more than what can be said for most people in NC.
It’s def a bittersweet end.

the ending dialogue is different depending on your relationship with johnny, if you never did any of his side quest he vilifies you for killing him for yourself and never trying anything else

All this time in the main game and this new DLC gameplay. I still don’t know if V is talking out loud With Johnny or he’s talking to him in his mind.
Like in the Arkham Series, like some part in the game where Batman isn’t around any people he talks in his mind instead of his lips.
He is talking in his mind with Johnny, the game alluded to this in the restaurant scene in the base game
His/Her mind, if you listen closely you'll notice sometimes V's voice echoes when they are speaking when responding to Johnny.
wanna see something funny? go on a bike and go third person mode as close as you can and you can see that V actually moves his lips for both his Dialogue and his convo partner.

I know a lot of people said they were sad that there isnt an ending where Johnny and V merge together and become a "new" person since its such a common trope in situations like this.
Obviously there is the ending where Johnny takes over V, but I think people wanted to see that classic sort of "They turned into a combination of the two" thing

As much as I love Johnny, I like that he kind of takes a back seat in this DLC. He doesn't agree with V going on this suicide mission really at all, and views it as a waste of time. It's only until V is too far in that Johnny starts to give his opinion on the situation. The complexity of the whole thing even makes someone like Johnny not know the right path to take. So he just lets V go about things in their own way.

Im never doing the surgery ending johnny dies permanently, v loses his or her powers, your loved ones and friends hate you. Its just not worth it I'd rather an ending where you and johnny find another body for v and install his or her engram into it and johnny lives in v's body and you both work together on jobs and become a team.

'I am in your shoes, dumbass', I already liked Johnny before the DLC, especially how they weaved in goofy moments with some really heavy shit, but only PL made me realize how much better base game could be if they weren't afraid to lean more heavily on Silverhand (on the flip side, I can imagine how it feels hellish for people who disliked him in the first place).

I don’t like Johnny. He is a terrorist who killed thousands, self admittedly grade a-hole, tries to kill you, takes your body out for a joy ride, preaches and condescends you constantly, a self absorbed narcissist who never really cared who he hurt.
JS doesn’t deserve a shred of sympathy and should be of the last in line for second chances.

He targets Arasaka with that explosion though. It was a selfish act of revenge for Alt, but compared to him, Arasaka is a machine of death. Both them and Militech were responsible for the massive 4th corporate war for pure profit which killed millions in collateral.
Silverhand is a bad person but its not as simple as him being up his own ass.

He bombed a tower of a megacorporation that was slaughtering millions of people throughout the globe, in the middle of an active war zone. He didn't commit a "terrorist" attack, he attacked a military target in the middle of an active war.
And his actions led to the end of the 4th corporate war, which was destroying the lives of millions throughout the globe and was ravaging the planet. And Johnny sends out a citywide evacuation warning and he didn't intend on killing civilians. Johnny Silverhand is a hero.

In the Original Promotion for Cyberpunk V was Male for the most part. However in most of the Phantom liberty Promotion V was Female for the most part. So I think they are Either.

Johnny doesn’t blame you though. He says it himself, his greatest fear is outliving V. Having the relic completely overwrite him. Johnny doesn’t want to live with that guilt. Hell, he even gets a bit angry after you send So Mi to the moon, the NUSA was V’s only guaranteed chance of survival.
Im not a fan of johnny personally so meh. Hes at least a bit better written in the dlc than in the base game where hes just a douchebag who criticizes every choice you make. Even during the sidequest to find johnny's body he still doesnt get why people hated him.
@@everythingsalright1121 Johnny always had a warped self-image, and that got 10 times worse due to his memories being both heavily scrambled and actively WRONG in some cases (it was Blackhand that did all the stuff at the Tower). It’s very important to note that in the path to be becoming his friend you don’t just need to be nice/sympathetic, you also need to call him out for his legitimately asshole behavior and hold him to task in order to get him to pull his head out of his own ass. He’s much nicer if you are able to get through to him
@@NeoCreo1I don't really know about all that "wrong memories" theory. seems more like a CDPR's own interpretation and own canon. if Silverhand died as in pen-and-paper, why does Rogue catch him on the heli with the phrase "not again" or something in his ending? they either just fucked it up or made their own canon at that point
@@antiprime295 What makes me buy into that theory is there are several points in the game that reference parts of the books that cover the tower fight that we don’t see in his memories, like Johnny getting cut in half by Smasher’s gun. There are enough details that are exactly on-point that make me suspect his memories are off, for a variety of potential reasons (Arasaka messing with them, the degradation his mind already had when copied, his hero complex + self-serving memory). Alt also straight up days at one point that his memories are what he WANTS to remember, which makes a lot of sense when you compare how it went down in the books.
