    The 1% low if you plan on running at 144hz would certainly favour the faster memory configurations with 2 dimms. But otherwise yes it's not like you break a leg of the cpu before going into the races.

    Thank you for showing the height of the sticks. I once had sticks too high and had to flip the cpu cooler.

      Lol, of course. I've run into that issue too many times to not point it out.

    I just upgrade from AM4 to AM5 on a Auros Master X670E and Ryzen 7900X, by mistake I bought a Corsair DDR5 Memory kit 6000 mhz that was not include in the Qvl list of the motherboard memory support, what ever configuration I put in the memory socket just A1 and A2 boot the system, when I put A2 B2 or A1 B2 I get code error C5. On the Bios when boths kits are on A1 2 A2 socket I can Enable XPM profile and Bios show 6000mhz / 32GB. On my Ryzen 7900X on Cinebench r23 I get 30000 points. I was playing also Space Marine 2 on 60hz TV 4k Radeon 6700XT graphic card on 1440p high settings I get 70 to 85 fps, sound good? 🤔. I just hope when I get a proper memory kit listed in the QVL motherboard support the B1 and B2 socket work as should be 😑

      I wouldn't get too caught up in whether a kit is on the list or not. As long as you have the modules installed in the optimal config for your board (which is almost always A1 + B1 or A2 + B2 - your motherboard's manual should show which), pretty much any kit should be able to run at their rated speeds on a board like yours. It might be worth trying a BIOS update in your case just to make sure. Your Cinebench score looks above average. Haven't tested Space Marine but your FPS looks like what I'd expect from a 6700XT. Long story short, I don't think your issue is related to your kit not being on the list - tinker around a bit and it should run perfectly 👌

    why is the difference not that big , the highest difference being only 10fps faster for the dual channel

    • @w-xing5250
      @w-xing5250 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Ddr5 itself work as dual channel in it that is why diff is not like ddr4

    Ty for the video

  • @MaunoMato99
    @MaunoMato99 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    This pretty much looked the same for DDR4 when testing different speeds, F1 and Hitman 3 always showed the biggest improvements.
    Some games are just more affected by memory bandwidth, if anything this should prove that dual channel does give real performance boost.
    But either way you are better off with 2 sticks.
    And all small percentages build up to a larger bunch, everything matters.

    Question: Trying to update my DDR5 in my laptop. Currently on 8GB in single channel and considering buying 1x16GB to run them in Dual channel.... Will the 24GB DDR5 (1x16, 1x8) run better or am I better off just getting another 8GB DDR5 to then have 16GB DDR5 running in dual channel?? Just looking for some advice pleaseee! Shoutout from a Saffa in Italy!

    • @TheTechTank
      @TheTechTank  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hmm, technically DDR5 is already "dual channel", but two modules still generally run better than one. Also to avoid any potential issues, it's best practice to pair two modules from the same brand, model, specifications, preferably even the same pack. You can mix and match, but there's potential compatibility issues.

    • @Apollogetsgood
      @Apollogetsgood 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @TheTechTank Got it! I'm thinking of taking the risk and getting the 16GB stick. If it isn't compatible or leading to weird performance instabilities, I'll just use the single 16GB stick and later on, buy a second matching stick. Thanks for the help!

    A more accurate comparison would surely have been to run the tests with either one or both of the Geil modules for each benchmark. Otherwise you introduce the difference in performance between the Crucial and Geil modules (regardless of the fact that you set the BIOS timings) Either way, useful video, thank you.

    The difference is still not significant. Who on earth would even complain between 110 FPS and 120 FPS? The difference is negligible and insignificant. Anything above 60 FPS is not discernible to most people.

      @user-vw4ig7xd6d 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I'd doubt that, I'd say it's above 100-120fps. I currently have a 1x 32GB 6000MHz stick, do you recommend changing it to 2x 16GB or 2x32GB?
