    Something to note if you are installing single stick of RAM:
    2:07 - You might have to install RAM in the 2nd slot (slot A2) depending on your motherboard, unlike what I have shown at 2:07 which is on A1 slot. It depends from board to board so check your manual for it.
    Also in case of dual channel with 2 sticks you may want the sticks to be on slot A2 and B2 first in some motherboards unlike how I show at 1:45.

    Please tell me, if you put 8 + 8 in slots A1 / B1, and 4 + 4 GB in A2 / B2, will this combination work in two channels?
    Memory with the same frequency, only the timings are different and 4 + 4 GB memory has chips on both sides, unlike 8 + 8 GB, which have chips on one side.

      See there's nothing like they won't work everything's gonna work but you may run into problems which may negatively impact your performance overall for using dissimilar memory.

    Great video. But wouldn't it be more benefitial if we use 1 RAM stick on the closest slot to the cpu? As the distance is shorter there should be some benefits, no?

    • @AMGameGoesOn

      The rate is very fast at which data transfers, that extra distance doesn't make any noticeable difference at all.

      For most motherboards, it's always on A2 and B2 first. But sometimes some boards have different configurations, so it's always better to follow your manual.

    • @AMGameGoesOn

      There's definitely something wrong with your board cause you are meant to put ram sticks in to A2B2 first if you have 2 sticks of ram, it says the same on the motherboard layout. Maybe try putting 1 single stick of ram into A2 and then B2 and check the individual slots to see if they work.

      Try all slots with just a single RAM first. If B1 and B2 do not work with same RAM, that should be some failure with the motherboard or the CPU. If the RAMs work alone, but don't work together, that could be due different or incompatible RAM modules.

    If I put 3 RAMs next to each other, will the Duel Channel work or not?

    • @AMGameGoesOn
      @AMGameGoesOn  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It's better to run 2 or 4 RAM sticks than 3. Using 3 next to each other means only 1 pair(2 ram sticks) will run in dual channel mode, the 3rd one which ever gets left out can't form the pair as the 4th stick is absent so this might cause in stability in your system and a drop in performance too (as I said this might its not 100% that it will always for everyone, you can try and see what fits better for your hardware).

    I have a 8GB RAM 2666MHZ and planning to buy 1 more stick of 8GB 3200MHZ, would It still be possible to run dual channel?
    I know that the speed from the 3200MHZ RAM will be running at a lower rate 2666MHZ such as the other one.

    • @AMGameGoesOn
      @AMGameGoesOn  ปีที่แล้ว

      Sorry for the late response. Too many comments to deal with so it's easy to loose track of them.
      So, it may or may not run in dual channel if your speeds are different or any single spec is different. Both RAM sticks should have the same size and the same bus speed to run in dual channel mode.
      I recommend you take out that 2666MHz stick out of the board and buy 2*8GB 3200MHz dual channel ram kit as DDR4 quite is cheap these days.
