I agree brother. I started on a 600cc but like you said it has everything to do with maturity and throttle control.
That's all it mainly is
I second this

Sounds good. But what if you want to rip it just quickly on a nice straight road? Just a little bit... Would that be alright? :D
Rode 70 miles on my GSXR 600 yesterday. I never rode a sportbike prior. Couple rides around the block and I accidentally was out allday.. requires great focus and maturity
“Control your throttle, don’t give into peer pressure, don’t be stupid and you should be good” *swerves past car* 😂😂😂 bikes are so raw
😂😂😂😂 oops
Be safe on the roads dawg and keep making videos because I’m gonna keep watching them ✊🏼✊🏼 and I plan on buying an r6 in a few months
What happens if you give full throttle in 3rd gear? Will it still pull up? And the same question goes for 2 gear... Will it pull up if you give full throttle? :D Just trying to grasp it from asking..
I like this guys message a lot. I just got a used 2002 R6 a month ago. I rode it for about an hr in my complex on day 1. Its been in the shop since day 2 of owning it to get everything up to par and all ive been doing is watching videos on youtube on how to rev match, counter steering, shifting smoothly etc etc. My msf course is on the 31st so 10 business days. I believe it was a god send i havent got to ride my bike thus far because ive had time to read the owners manual and watch safety videos to learn about riding. Ive been wanting a bike since i was 20 yrs old. I turn 31 in july. Tbh i probably would of died in my 20s from being reckless. Im very thankful ive matured and calmed down a lot. Like you said, maturity level is key. Respect the bike and learn how to be safe on the bike with proper techniques are the 2 biggest things i keep hearing ppl preach to have an amazing life on your motorcycle. Ride safe everyone ✌
Be safe out there brother!
Excellent video. Very wise advice. I believe level of maturity is the key. I have met a couple of mature 16 year olds and a ton of immature 40 year olds. I have a feeling you might well be an old soul in a 21 year old body. Appreciate what you do K-Kam.
+Richard Massey Appreciate it man. I just think with the right mindset these bikes can be enjoyed while saving the new rider money
Just depends on the person.. im 24 first bike is an r6 got it about less than two months ago and im already pretty comfortable. I know i still have a lot to learn but its doable im at that point where i wanna get a 1000 already.. im always being safe i still follow speed limit i know my limit i respect the bike
Nice! Yeah take your time and learn that bike.
Why you want 1000? Curiosity i just bought my first bike so just curious why you want a 1000 already.....i also bought a r6
ReyD how tall are you?
@@captainjac6114 i started on a 1000cc (ninja zx10r) my friend started on a 636 hes wrecked his twice due to his own mistakes not due to any traffic and i havent had any problems learning on my zx10r i just put it in low power mode with full traction control so even if i wanted to be dumb and hit the throttle it wouldnt go like it truly could but now I ride pretty much in full power mode i still have traction control on but its set to the lowest TC setting once i get more experience ill turn it off.
So I shouldn't start on a H2R?
+2WheelAssault I would need a new set of shorts from excitement
nah dood ur gud. i started on a giant turbo with a zx14r strapped to it with naws.
i support your cause man do it
2WheelAssault H2 suicidal bike 😂
I’m 18 and buying a 2010 r6 best advice I’ve gotten from TH-cam. Appreciate.
Appreciate the feedback
Yeah man I’m 14 and just recently bought a Cbr600rr and it’s honestly pretty easy but I’ve been racing Mx my hole life as well but the power is manageable for a beginner 🤙🏼
I just bought a used 2002 R6 as my first bike and I’m 29 years old. You’re absolutely right about being mature and not giving into peer pressure. Great point you made about being smart about the throttle. 600cc has made me humble and mature in ways I didn’t expect.
Regardless of WHAT you start on, the goal should be the same... to learn how to ride safely and how to master control of your riding and of the bike. CCs is only one measurement of a bikes power, acceleration, and capabilities. A V-twin is different an parallel twin and both are different than an inline 4. Weight is a factor. There is nothing wrong with starting on a 650 bike, I did it and I am 41 years old gay guy and had never even sat on a motorcycle before taking my endorsement class. If you have any intentions of riding in the interstate, a 600-650cc bike really makes a difference. I think it is most important to understand why you want a bike, what your frequent riding conditions will be, and how willing/capable you are to be patient to learn to ride safely. There are benefits to 300cc bikes though. A lot of people learn a lot riding them and have a lot of fun on them, plus they are much more affordable.
Understanding that completely. Solid comment man, but was just trying to show the people only interested in 600cc's my thoughts. I loved my SV 650 for sure. Don't regret starting on a "smaller" bike at all
Like how u said ur a "41 year old gay guy" haha
Started on a ninja 400. Very happy with it. Wouldn't trade it for anything. Amazing little bike.
Nice! I've yet to hop on one
Thanks for being so positive man, I just bought my R6 and I'm still so scared about riding it. Now after watching this, I feel better.
Just take your time with it and you’ll get there. Enjoy the process brother 👍 ride safe
The same here. I just bought a 2003 R6, as my first bike and I'm so scared to take it out. The only thing i rode before was a 49cc. So i have zero experience on motorcycles. I'm gonna take the MSF course so i have an idea.
3 years later this still a great video to watch.i do have a r6 and I do just start riding .bout 6 months in and it feels good to feel the growth from my first street ride the level I'm @ now.and yes I'm still humble with it and I do respect that throttle .
Thank you!
Thanks for the input. I’m 42 and want an R6 for my first bike. When you talked about throttle control that made me feel very relieved that I can do this and just take my time learning to ride and get good at it. Thanks again for the video
No problem man! I also ride my cruiser if you want to check out those videos too. It’s all maturity at the end of the day. Ride safe man 👍
I just bought an R6, and only intended to take it around the block. Hindsight is 20/20, definitely a humbling moment. I was too excited and forgot to focus, didnt even make the turn out of my apt complex and went into the ditch. Definitely lacked throttle control and maturity there, gonna spend the night thinking on it and tomorrow will definitely be better.
Take your time learning the basics first. The fun and enjoyment will come naturally. Enjoy it bud and be safe
My advice to true newbies, start on a dual sport, when you want something fast buy it and keep the dual sport. It is nice having more than one bike for different types of riding.
Not a bad idea man. I think that's my next investment hopefully
yeh it really is all about maturity and the rider...i started on a ninja zx10r (1000cc) a few months after my friend started on a 636 he has wrecked his bike twice...totaled it the second time (both times there was no traffic or by standards involved) ... Before getting our bikes though all he did was watch wheelie videos and stunt trick videos...while all i did was watch videos on form and very detailed oriented hints and tips on how to ride...granted he never tried to do tricks when he wrecked but because he didnt have the knowledge on how to brake properly or anything like that (neither of us got our license) it has cost him money and injuries.
Maturity and throttle control👌 Be safe out there brother
I just bought a 01 GSXR 600 I’m 42. I love the feeling after waking up in the morning And thinking oh yeah I have a GSXR super sport 600. yes!!!
That’s awesome man! Ride safe out there and enjoy it
Man I've only ridden dirt bikes, but I just bought a gsxr 600 2014 with only 4000ks on the clock, and your right it's all in the wrist and I'm 39years old.
Great advice...especially about buying used first
+Victoria Jacks Yeah I would hate to see new bikes go down. It just happens sadly
Ive been battling back n forth with myself about getting a DRZ400SM or an R6. I'm 42 and I have every desire to ride as safe as I can. Glad I came across this video. I think I'm gonna go with the R6 bcuz I do trust myself. Nice video
Appreciate the feedback! Ride safe out there
I actually got an 07' GSXR 600 and I love it. So glad I did. Been riding carefully around my neighborhood for 3 weeks now. Think I'm ready to get up on the highway.
Started on a 600r 2 days ago I know how to drive Manual cars so that Deffintly helped, never road a bike before getting it so Deffinitley taking my time I was surprised with the turning when I took it around the block was sketchy didn't drop it or stall the first day I was riding 2nd day I was going through the gears and stalled a few times, been sticking to the back roads until I get more skill
Congrats man 👍Just take your time with learning it and enjoy the process
How long did it take you to get used to it? Im getting an r6 for my first bike next month
this just sounds like a bad recipe. I hope nothing happened to you ... If you going for a a big bike like that prob take a class they teach valuable skills. ESP with turning
As long as you're not pinning the throttle and weaving in and out of traffic you will be fine starting even on a liter bike
i started on a 600 took me the best part of 6 months to get used to it, I would definitely advise getting something smaller even just for a couple of months
I am learning on an R3 for now but will give it to my wife then I'll upgrade to my dream bike! I love my R3 though.
That's a solid plan man. Always had that dream of having a girl that rides haha
Killakam lol....I have to set her up for the MSF Course but my dream bike is a R6!!
Just know your limits!!my first year riding I was tempted to wheely after 7 months but I told myself NO!!!!I told myself if everything goes good my first year then maybe my second year I will try and mind you I felt really comfortable around my 3rd month..I had just about everything you could think of happen to me except hitting debris straight on on the freeway..here’s one that scared me is to know what to do if you lock your back wheel up and why it happened is a big thing you will experience and it will scare the shit out of you..I always use my back brake mostly but I also use them together when needed..good luck and know thyself!!!
Your vids on point brotha🔥 I started on 2007 r6 for first bike this summer and it totally can be done now I feel like anything less is unacceptable for a sports bike😂
Great vid bro appreciate your honesty....
i started on a dodge tomahawk
One down 5 up..it’s the same hearing system so yeah definitely a 600 just respect the bike
Exactly!
I started on the SV650. I had my fun with it, and definitely was able to enjoy it until I could arrange a 600cc
Loved the SV
Thank you so much for making this video! I'm 15 and I'm going to buy a 2000 yamaha r6 as my first bike
Keep me posted!
Killakam well I’ve changed my opinion on any 600cc bike and I’ve decided to buy a 2007+ Honda CBR600RR
@@BrunoplayzYT what happened?
@@didntpassthevibecheck3957 lmao 17 years old and Im hoping by the end of this year, I buy an 07 Yamaha R6. But as of right now, I’m trying to buy BMW 335I E92
I'm currently looking into getting an R6, have only ever rode a 125 scooter back when I was 21 and I'm now 31. I won't lie these bikes scare the shit out of me as I have seen what can happen if rode like douche, but never the less I crave an R6 still.
I love the R6 man
I just bought one myself, I'm 29 and don't have any real urge to rip on it. If the highway is clear yeah I'll get on it a bit but I know my limits. If you think about it no matter what you drive can and will kill you if driven like a douche. That's what the track is for and hopefully I'll be confident and comfortable enough to do track sometime soon (keep in mind my r6 is my very first bike and I've never grew up driving anything other than bicycles, I've never dreamed of driving a motorcycle until my buddy taught me on his Cbr600rr)
Im 58 yrs of age and just found myself taking possession of a used Yamaha R6 any recommendations or knowledge you can bring forth as to a beginning rider? I have always wanted to ride.
Awesome video man. Very helpful
Thanks bro!
Right on brother
👍👍👍
It's not so much the power issue for me, as a first-time rider I am more concerned that the 600cc class is a heavier bike. Other than weight distribution and balance, I'm confident that I could handle a heavier (and more powerful) bike.
Solid point. A lighter bike does give you a lot more confidence while starting
Great advice bro!! I was wondering where this road is? it is beautiful and would like to ride here someday.
What's the most common mistake that you have to watch out for when starting? Other than the throttle control?
Just get to know your bike as weird as that sounds. Just take it to parking lots and get the basics down before dealing with all the crazy people in traffic
easy on the brakes, alot different than a 250s brakes, they touchy.
Dude it's riding season where are the new videos there's only been 2 this year.
I mean 4 so far
Man I’ve been traveling and just had some other things like work holding me back lately. Next week I will have fresh content for ya
Great video brother, I'm actually shopping for my first bike. I took my msf course last month got my motorcycle license and have been shopping ever since. I'm definitely getting a 600cc I just can't decided which one.. I'm trying to choose from an 2008 r6, 2009 CBR 600rr, or 2011 zx6r.. They're all about the same price I'm 6tf 185lbs and 46 yrs old if that matters.. do you have an opinion on best 600cc starting bike? I'm thinking r6 since it has really low end power so it should be great beginner bike for someone practicing in parking lots and small city streets.. NO HIGHWAY RIDES RIGHT NOW.. What do you think?
Comfort wise I would go cbr. Performance wise down the road zx6r is beautiful. Looks R6 😂😂 Sit on all of them and find what’s comfortable for ya
Alright so you tell me if you think I should start on an yamaha R6? I have been riding bike for about 5 years now and when I say bikes I am talking about dirtbikes. Yes I know they are completely different but I not only ride but I race and the bike I ride is a 250cc yamaha carbureted not fuel injected so I know the response is alot more! I think that with the experience i have i would do fine but I would like some other opionus.
+Devin Machowicz Its mostly maturity level like I said. If you can get an opportunity to test ride a smaller bike than a 600cc sport bike and see if you like the power or you need more
I’m in Florida and I wanted to get my permit first so I can buy a used motorcycle and practice on it before I take the MSF course. However I don’t think we have a permit here so I was wondering if I can buy a 600cc, treat it good, practice on parking lots until I’m comfortable and then take the MSF course or is that not a good idea?
I don't recommend 600 for immature kids that life spend would be from first month till 3rd that it . Got to respect this motorcycle
Trying to find the best bike to start learning to ride on. I realize I should start on a small bike but I wanna hang with the 600’s.... any Suggestions?
A 650cc is what I started on. Very comfortable and will for sure keep you entertained on the roads. Kawasaki ninja 650 or the Suzuki Sv 650
Killakam thanks for the advice, I’m looking at the 2017 ninja 650 now! Maybe a year down the road I’ll get a 4 cylinder! Thanks again friend, subscribed!
Nice man! Thanks for subscribing👍 Hope you get on one soon!
I just stick to 2 or third gear
I started on a 500 and I haven't rode in about a year and 6 months. I was thinking a 1000 for the same reasons in the video. advice?
Please test ride a 600cc before making your decision. Having previous knowledge will play a huge role in your decision
I started on a Cbr600rr
im gonna go get my dream bike zx10r
Such a nice bike 👍👍
dude im fr push out more content you bring inspiration to alot of your followers i plan to move back to georgia in the next few years and definitely would love to meet you do you have instagram i would like to tell you something you can share it in your next video if you want its up lifting and it will most likely move you
its in your dm bro
nice
Appreciate it!
I would prefer a 300 or 400, but I can only find used 600cc's for my price range in my area :'( but it's better than nothing if I'm responsible.
Just get the 600 . I woulda been upset if I got anything smaller.
I've been riding 120~165 for years and received a good offer for a Kawasaki 650, could it be too much?
Didja get the 650? How did it go?
ZX14 R
have you ever rode a z900
+Waylon Jeffers I have not! Wish I have
I think if you don’t know how to shift. Learning on a 600 is stupid.
Quick shifter on zx6r low power mode and traction control lvl 3 they would be fine very manageable
Are you in tallahassee?
+MrCoolguywithfreckle Yeah around that area
I want to start on a gunner. Is a cruiser a good bike to start on?
The Gunner is a heavier bike. I would recommend something lighter to start on. If you get a chance go sit on a few different bikes and see if the weight doesn't bother you
FWIW, My first bike was a brand I wont name ( something a little similar to the Vulcan 650 ), two months later I upgraded to a big heavy Victory Cross Country. IF you have had ANY experience at all, the gunner might be fine.
Im set on either a honda rebel 500 or an r3 or r6 helpp
First bike?
Killakam yep I like both the honda rebel and the r3 but tbh, the r6 might save me a lot of money cuz like u said, it would be easeir so you wouldnt have to hastle about selling the bike to get a faster bike. Its not even that hard to find a good priced r6 on Craigslist. You could find one for the original price of the r3
600 seems too unforgiving... even 650s like the sv650 or the cbr650r seem too powerful for a beginner... but it also depends on maturity... a 16yo from america will definitely kill himself if he buys an r6 as his first bike compared to someone who is legaly forced to wait until 20 or 21 to be able to ride any bike... as im one of the latter, living in central europe, im just going to get a 650, maybe an sv, maybe a kawi er6 whatever it might be cause id still have to get it restricted to 25kw... too bad im probably going to have to wait till next when i turn 19 to get my license because of this damn pandemic...
Definitely 600 if u rode dirt bikes
If you can control your throttle you can buy a 600cc
Instructions unclear: Bought a Turbo Busa
(Its a joke btw)
Repent! Lord Jesus Christ Saves! Read the Holy Bible God's Word!
I’ve bin driving dirt bikes for 3 years I feel comfortable with a R6 should I get one though??
I've had a 125cc bike and i was wandering if its fine to get a 600cc? Im tired of the slow tacky and max speed of 54 and shakey bike
Mrtato Butt yes get 600
Yes. Get it. You won't be sorry
