- In this episode I speak with former Manson Family associate Bobby Beausoleil about his time recording music with Charles Manson and how a peyote deal gone wrong set in motion a series of crimes that forever changed the counterculture and public perception of psychedelic drugs.

I have taken a small amount of LSD every weekend for about 3 years. In small amounts like half a tab it can give you unmatched gratitude, perspective and empathy for others. It can show you what you need to see within yourself and in the world around you
Everybody is struggling with mental health and could benefit from careful therapeutic use of substances like these. Wanna try, but keep being told I can't do it alone for the first time.
I do respect and believe in psychedelics as treatment, yet I’m reluctant about using them personally. Not sure about how “good” it may do to someone
Since I tired psychedelics for the first time, I’ve been trying to describe the experience to others so there can try it as well, but i couldn’t find the right words to describe it.
I find it funny if there's any psychedelic therapy there online
Of course , he is dr.martyshroom. Psychedelic vision is reality to me and always was".
Psychedelics have the potential to make a significant impact on mental health issues like anxiety and depression. They've been incredibly helpful for me personally.

Psychedelics are great, one time I was trippin on too much LSD (acid) and I was staring at a fire pit and the fire pit turned into a mini world with little people and buildings, it was 2 years ago and it's such an experience to remember. would love to try out the magic mushrooms next but it's so rare in my area
I took 2g of PE Thursday night with friends, laughed all night. Took 4g last night by myself and went on a Pink Floyd journey... I love Shrooms

That’s terrible news about DOC. Probably my most beautiful trip was on DOC with my best friend before he passed.
We ate a banana like cave men just tossing it back and forth between fits of laughter. The visuals got so strong that I just had to close my eyes and be engulfed. In the moonlight we threw different sizes rocks in the canal and listened for the sounds of the plops.
Came back and glowsticked while dancing barefoot in the grass outside. Talking about all the awesome things we would do in life and hyping eachother up. Then a mutual friend came over and as the sun came up. I for the 1st time talked and cried to them about my friend who’d passed. It was all beautiful.
Miss you brother. Your memory is the push I need when I get tired. Rip
Bro one of my favorite all time experiences was on DOC as well, we ate it super late at night around 2am but we started peaking around 6am, we watched the grass grow as well as slapped his rubber pool around watching the waves roll back and forth it was surreal. Hope you are doing well, peace and love.
RIP TO YOUR BEST FRIEND, if you was in my area we'd trip golden teachers lol hope things get better for you man sucks
Thanks y’all I appreciate the kind thoughts and sharing your own trip. It’s been a process but I’m in a good place now, working towards a chem degree has given me purpose like never before.

Bro is always on the front lines. This chemist is a legendary field reporter, always gettin' the good real stories!
Edit: Doesn't the fact that the lawyer who dealt with the case saying loosely, "LSD causes illusions not hallucinations, and has no lasting emotional effect..." directly go against what the government preaches? Why does the government have so much control over "the truth" when the populace knows the real truth most of the time anyway?
People, as much in the populace as in positions of power, believing that might makes right, or that their governing body would never lie to them.

# "I took LSD with Charles Manson"
This video is an interview with Bobby Beausoleil, a former member of Charles Manson's group, where he recounts his experiences with Manson, including taking LSD together, and his involvement in the events leading to the Manson Family murders. Beausoleil provides a detailed narrative of his interactions with Manson, the dynamics within the group, and the circumstances surrounding the murder of Gary Hinman.
---
## Conclusion
Bobby Beausoleil's interview offers a rare glimpse into the inner workings of Charles Manson's group. He clarifies misconceptions about Manson's influence, describing him as more opportunistic than manipulative. Beausoleil emphasizes that drugs were not the central factor in the Manson Family's violent actions, despite popular belief.
---
## Key points
🔪 **First murderer on the podcast**: The interview is notable for featuring Bobby Beausoleil, a convicted murderer, discussing his time with Manson.
🇺🇸 **Cultural impact of Manson Murders**: The Manson murders marked a significant cultural shift in the U.S., symbolizing the darker side of the 1960s counterculture.
🧠 **Psychological aspects**: Beausoleil downplays Manson's supposed criminal genius, portraying him as more of an opportunist who capitalized on his followers' vulnerabilities.
🍄 **Role of psychedelics**: While psychedelics were present in the group, Beausoleil argues they were not the main factor in the group's criminal behavior.
🔫 **Gary Hinman murder**: Beausoleil details the events leading to Hinman's murder, emphasizing the chaotic and avoidable nature of the crime.
🎶 **Manson's music**: Beausoleil describes Manson's attempts at a music career, highlighting his lack of technical skill and control over the recording process.
🏍 **Biker gang involvement**: The involvement of the Straight Satans motorcycle gang and their dissatisfaction with the mescaline they bought from Hinman played a role in escalating tensions.
💉 **Drug trials and perceptions**: The video touches on the legal perspectives on LSD during Manson's trial, where it was argued that LSD did not impair one's ability to distinguish right from wrong.
🔐 **Life in prison**: Beausoleil reflects on his time in prison, his artistic pursuits, and his mixed feelings about his past actions.
🏡 **Communal living**: Beausoleil discusses the communal living arrangements of the Manson Family, likening them to other communes of the era but marked by Manson's manipulative tactics.

I have more than 20 hours of bootlegged recordings of Manson ; some released as actual albums before he went to prison and the majority-tape recordings made while he was in prison-his entire ‘discography’ if you will.
The recordings are a mix of songs , rants and snatches of random interactions inside the prison.
I rate him highly as a songwriter, especially his lyricisms, he was a brilliant wordsmith.
I love some of his songs so much and I put him up there ( to compare him with a contemporary) with Van Morrison.
The spoken word component of the recordings also give incredible insight into that time of mystery and madness that he is so central to.

Wild ending
Very interesting interview. It seem 55 years is enough its not like he would present a danger to anyone. Maybe thars insensitive to the family of the victims, i don't know.
Patty Tate & the Hinman family are at every parole hearing with their wallets & votes in the Governors ear….
54 years (1970-2024) might as well be 55…Patty Tate, Sharon’s sister & the Hinman family have significant influence over the State of California Parole board. They attend every one of Bobbys parole board hearings. Sadly their influence maintains 100% denial outcome.
I'm pretty sure there's some Japanese swordsmen out there who would disagree that Manson was too short to properly use a sword effectively. He probably just didn't know how to use a sword, drugs probably helped. Someone forgot to explain to him that you use the pointy end. Thx for the vid.
