This is actually one of my favorites archetypes. I do believe the inspiration for the archetype gimmick of becoming stronger when you gain life points is meant to represent the idea that aromatherapy is meant to heal and strengthen the person (meaning that when you gain LP you are also becoming stronger thanks to the aromas, AKA effects, from the monsters)
Same, I have an anime Aroma-Rose-Uria deck for Akiza to use in the comic I want to make before duellinks cane out. As soon as the Aroma cards came out, I preemptively made a deck named "Akiza Deck". I had Alexis and Mokuba use it till 5ds came out. Unfortunately Duel Links makes it too difficult to put Uria in, and I don't have blue rose dragon.
Also Bergamot and Cananga effects represent the side effects of abusing their respective oils (bergamot is a fire monster and can cause skin sensibility due to sun burn, and Cananga literally cause frailty xd)
PLUS: For any RP series, the Aroma Archetype makes for a good type of RP archetype, much like the combined Magician with Eyes of Blue Dark Magician+Blue Eyes RP archetype. Hey, can you think of anything to add to Aroma in an RP deck? All I can think of is using Black Rose Dragon stuff....
That's actually pretty smart about how Life points represent the heat. I always thought the Aromage LP gain was a metaphor for healing because of aroma therapy is all about healing
I know this came out before these cards were released, but there’s also Aromage Laurel - If your LP are higher than your opponent's: You can Special Summon this card from your hand. If you gain LP: Target 1 non-Tuner Plant monster on the field; it is treated as a Tuner this turn. If this card is sent to the GY: You can gain 500 LP. You can only use each effect of "Aromage Laurel" once per turn. Aromage Marjoram - While your LP is higher than your opponent’s, you take no battle damage from battles involving your Plant Monsters. You can only use each of these effects of "Aromage Marjoram" once per turn. ● If a Plant monster you control is destroyed in battle and sent to the GY: You can Special Summon this card from your hand, then gain 500 LP. ● If you gain LP: Target a number of cards in your opponent’s GY, up to the number of “Aroma” monsters you control; banish them. Aromaseraphy Sweet Marjoram - 1 Tuner + 1+ non-Tuner monsters While your LP are higher than your opponent's, your opponent cannot target Plant monsters you control with card effects. You can only use each of the following effects of "Aromaseraphy Sweet Marjoram" once per turn. ● If this card is Synchro Summoned: You can add 1 "Humid Winds", "Dried Winds", or "Blessed Winds" from your Deck to your hand. ● If you gain LP: Target 1 card your opponent controls; destroy it. Aroma Gardening - If you Normal or Special Summon an "Aroma" monster(s) (except during the Damage Step): You can gain 1000 LP. When an opponent's monster declares an attack, while your LP are lower than your opponent's: You can Special Summon 1 "Aroma" monster from your Deck. You can only use each effect of "Aroma Gardening" once per turn. Blessed Winds - You can activate 1 of the following effects. ● Send 1 Plant monster from your hand or face-up field to the GY; gain 500 LP. ● Target 1 Plant monster in your GY; shuffle it into the Deck, then gain 500 LP. ● Pay 1000 LP; Special Summon 1 "Aroma" monster from your GY. You can only use this effect of "Blessed Winds" once per turn.

They made flip a subtype to make it easier to make support for those monsters. Arc-v was the time when they truly started to try and give support to all types of deck and not just a select few.
I would like to answer your question about the difference between a flip monster ( when the word flip is written in the beginning of the text ) and a flip effect . To understand the difference you need a card like spell of absorbing life for example ( it simply says flip all monsters on the field face up , and gain lp from each face up effect monster , and it second effect is that the effect of flip monstets are negated ). There is another archetype called Geargias (there two main monsters cards says when this card is flipped face up apply the following effect ) .so spell of absorbing life doesn't negate there effect , while a flip monster like snow man eater for example can't activate his effect because its a flip monster and the text on his card stats whit ( flip : ....)
2:30 By making flip a monster type instead of having it before the effect itself it gives the cards a cleaner look and you can digitally sort them out easier if your specifically looking for flip monsters.
Back In the Day when I played Duel links (Before the computer I used went Caput) I used Aroma ALOT. Especially since it's Good Support Oldy enough For the winged dragon of Ra. Aroma Jar is a staple 3 of for aroma decks, and if you don't use it to your advantage, your missing out on 500 LP every end phase. Also, combining this card with the continuous trap, Dried Winds, where you'll destroye a face up monster everytime you gain LP, which means, everytime someone ends there turn, which i believe, is a very powerful combo, even if its cheap and can be splashed in to other decks. I use this strategy even though i wish i have 3 copies of those cards but at least i have one of each so i am able to abuse this. Even though my own deck isn't an aroma deck, its gimmick is gaining a ton of LP while also burning my opponents in the prossece using cards like Ookazi, Fencing Fire Ferret, Lava Golem, Secret Barrel, etc. Its very powerful and if i wasn't playing a 40 card deck, i would add the other aromas i own. Its a fun gimmick that i think can get me some unexpected wins.
I think, but don’t quote me on this because I’m not sure if it was ever confirmed or not, but I think Aromages Laurel, Cananga and Bergamot are the only male cards in the arch type because all of the definite female Aromages, Jasmine, Rosemary and Marjoram, are the only cards to have received Aromaseraphy forms. Also would love to see an updated video containing the newly added Aromalylith monsters too!
I think the decision around flip monsters was to clarify that if your monster has an effect that activates when flipped faced-up it doesn't necessarily means it's a Flip monster, take Des Lacooda for example, when it's flip summoned you draw a card even though it is not considered a Flip monster. It does matter since we have effects that state "a Flip monster" and some non-flip monsters with flip effects can miss time, which is not the case for the "original" ones.
Finally my favorite deck that I use in duel links. It's so easy and simple to use. No bs overpowered moves with no chance of you coming back and making a comeback
Ability is treated as activated while effect is treated as passive. This is a major difference when it comes to what cards can negate what. If a card shuts down all activated abilities, ones with passive ones are not targeted. This gives another layer of complexity to duel monsters.
Well, you kinda forgot a couple cards, those being Blessed Winds... Aromage Laural, and another Aroma card, but it’s a continuous spell that I forget the name of. Blessed Winds is a continuous trap that you can use one of three effects once per turn. Either send a plant type from your hand to the graveyard or shuffle a plant monster from your graveyard to the deck to gain 500 life points. And if you pay 1000 life points with the card, special summon 1 plant monster from the graveyard. Aromage Laurel is a lv 1 plant monster of the wind attribute. It’s continuous effect is, if your life points are higher than your opponents, you can special summon the card from your hand. And if you gain LP, you can choose one monster on your side of the field to turn into a Tuner monster for the rest of this turn. The continuous spell has Aroma in the name, but I forget the name. Once activated, you can choose to gain life points anytime a plant monster is summoned (unsure if it’s plant or Aroma monsters only) If your opponent attacks you while you have lower LP than them, you can special summon 1 Aroma monster from your deck. (Hint, use either Bergamot or Rosemary with this spell, so you can stop the attack by getting super high attack or changing the attacker to defense position. Works great against monsters that can’t negate these effects during the battle phase... this spell is highly unrecommended against the Ancient Gear archetype and others, as they can prevent the spell from activating when they attack.
So much fun to use in Duel Links. Has amazing comeback ability as long as you still have something to give you LP and another Aroma card. Often use Solemn Scolding since you'll have the LPs to spare.
Dude I'm still waiting for half of these cards to be put in duel links Sad part is that even with like 6 aromage cards in the game the deck made is still basically INVINCIBLE
I think they changed the flip to what it is know so it's easier to categorize, and for archetypes that use flip monsters so it's easier to know if a monster is a flip so an effect that searches flip monsters.
Funny if you play as Akiza in Duel Links and build an Aromage Synchro deck with Black Rose Dragon and Wicked Rebirth. Not only you have more utilities to set up the 800 cost for Wicked Rebirth, but you can set up your GY for Black Rose Dragon's second effect and shuffle your plant monsters back into the deck to get more LP. Essentially if Aromage's existed in the 5Ds' era and Akiza still had her build up role as the 3rd main this deck would make her into more of a threat in the game.
The legend says that every centuries there is a single second when you can buy the Aroma deck without having to sell your house before. But seriously when the hell is a reprint scheduled ?
I actually really like this Archetypes Playstyle. I made this my unlimited Deck with three Pot of Greed and its Deckmasters Blackrose Dragon & Ancient Fairy Dragon in Ghostrare. So i have a bit of a Softspot for them.
I had always assumed the lifegain was from harvesting from your aroma garden, hence the garden being what gains you life while the monsters(the plants in the garden) effects are the cuttings you harvested

Aromas are my favorite deck to use they can be deadly with lava golem and mask of the accursed
The Retro Gamer i once tried that in duel links
worked for a while
Try winged Dragon of ra as well
I'm using it with lava golem mask of the accursed and winged dragon of ra
I love this archetype and your cards
I want to see the Gravekeeper archetype
This needs an update. A lot more cards added
2:37 it was made in order to make cards that interact with monsters who have flip effects specifically like spell absorbing life and reverse reuse
Tbh it's my favorite archetype alongside melodious monsters ^_^
May I correct for aromage cananga.. The represented plant is read as "ILANG-ILANG(ee-lang - ee-lang)".. It's kinda common here in the Philippines 😁
My favourite archetype in duel links
Finally my favorite deck that I use in duel links. It's so easy and simple to use. No bs overpowered moves with no chance of you coming back and making a comeback
Ancient Sacred Wyvern Is Good In That Deck As Well As Child’s Play And Spiritual Forest
Well, that's a lot I've learned about two separate types of aroma. Glad I was here for this.
This Archetype + the winged Dragon of Ra
Ability is treated as activated while effect is treated as passive. This is a major difference when it comes to what cards can negate what. If a card shuts down all activated abilities, ones with passive ones are not targeted. This gives another layer of complexity to duel monsters.
Ah, yes, the Aroma/Aromage archetype.
Also known as, "The Archetype that gets more and more annoying"
Someone lost to it I guess
Damn I just been using them in duel links never knew they had a other cards
Bro me too
@@Chill_Vibes186 add me Echoushida let's duel bro
@@DeejayTiqqa ok man tell me your gamers code
Need more support cards for aromage
I somewhat did after looking at the wiki, but ya I also like using aroma deck
Can't wait until more great archetype videos come up.
Once activated, you can choose to gain life points anytime a plant monster is summoned (unsure if it’s plant or Aroma monsters only)
If your opponent attacks you while you have lower LP than them, you can special summon 1 Aroma monster from your deck.
First time watching the vid and a new player as well. I wish he would update his vids like this one for example since it was made in early 2019!
The Aroma Archetype is one of my favorite Archetype to use in Duel Links with Akiza and in the TCG
Respect for being so thoroughly in this video 👍
I'd be down for an xyz Bergamot and a fusion Cananga, just to have all the card types on the archetype
Uh, since the reveal of Marjoram and her Synchro form, I don't think Aromas will get Fusion or Xyz because Predaplants are Fusion and Slyvans are Xyz.
Anyone else here after the release of Phantom Nightmare? Let's go new Aroma support!!!🥳🥳🥳
So much fun to use in Duel Links. Has amazing comeback ability as long as you still have something to give you LP and another Aroma card. Often use Solemn Scolding since you'll have the LPs to spare.
Have you ever considered doing an updated trivia video for this archetype since there were more cards released for it?
I kinda wanna see a trivia for the super quantum’s
Specifically to hear him list all the references to power rangers
Dude I'm still waiting for half of these cards to be put in duel links
Sad part is that even with like 6 aromage cards in the game the deck made is still basically INVINCIBLE
Bergamot is a man?! *boom* Mind blown. 100th like!
I knew he was a man because of that big pants no girl is going to be in pants likes that
Cananga too
I think they changed the flip to what it is know so it's easier to categorize, and for archetypes that use flip monsters so it's easier to know if a monster is a flip so an effect that searches flip monsters.
Suspicious how Bergamont has the same Stats as Black Rose Dragon. Coincidence?
Have you made any ninja archetype videos, if not are you planning on doing one.
Perhaps we could have...?
Xyz: Aromaseraphy Bergamot
Fusion: Aromaseraphy Canaga
Unlikely, since Predaplants cover Fusion while Sylvans are Xyz focus of the Plant monsters.
The equally attractive cousins of the Madolche
FBI, open up.
@@thewitchcoven hey Jim, ya it's me, new archetype yup the usual
@@alexanderticonuwu7591 Two decades sentence in prison, then. Now get in the car.
The legend says that every centuries there is a single second when you can buy the Aroma deck without having to sell your house before. But seriously when the hell is a reprint scheduled ?
Aroma also known as one of the most op deck in yu-gi-oh and i love it
I was about to look up the Aroma Archtype from you and I see that u just uploaded it today hahahaha Zeus mío
Loved Aromas in Duel Links since I mained the deck for some time. Nowadays I use Aromas for a fun plant Synchro deck
You'd think they'd gain effects or have support cards for when you inflict BURN damage.
I actually really like this Archetypes Playstyle. I made this my unlimited Deck with three Pot of Greed and its Deckmasters Blackrose Dragon & Ancient Fairy Dragon in Ghostrare. So i have a bit of a Softspot for them.
Card effects that target flip cards or negate flip effects
More then heat I'd say the life points can be considered as "stress" or "calm". The more you have it, depending on how you see it, the better.
I had always assumed the lifegain was from harvesting from your aroma garden, hence the garden being what gains you life while the monsters(the plants in the garden) effects are the cuttings you harvested
