- It’s storytime again! As I’ve iterated in the past, Yugioh cards hold a lot of lore just with their imagery, so let’s look at even more cards that show us some cool storylines with their art. However, since Konami is very aware of the popularity of backstories, we see more elaboration on supplementary material, so more blanks are filled with less artwork nowadays, but we still get some great stories regardless! Judgment Meter voices some characters for me in this video, and Corgian joins for a cameo, too.

Something I think is going on with Eldlich: I think the shell-like stone is the Philosopher’s Stone; the legendary material said to be attainable through alchemy. Legends say that t he stone would be able to transform “impure” metals and materials into pure gold, and produce an elixir of eternal life.
The Eldlixir cards seem to depict not just a group of cultists, but a group of *alchemists* attempting to create the philosopher’s stone, through the various processes described in the hypothetical guide to the Great Work. These include a black process, white process, and red process. Fans of the Yugioh GX anime may remember these processes from Professor Banner’s alchemy beast deck.
However, while the stone is stable through the black process (eldlixir of black awakening), the power begins to go out of control during the white process (eldlixir of white destiny). But it’s too late to stop it. When we next see the group, the stone has progressed to the red process (eldlixir of scarlet sanguine), and the alchemists have fallen under its power. Their bodies transforming into golden-skinned undead monsters.
They succeeded at their goal. They found gold, and eternal life. But they lost everything in the process.
From then on, it seems that the stone *itself* takes command, creating the body we call Eldlich from the gold it created.

Nigredo, albedo, and rubedo are represented as the souls are forged into it and purified into a philosopher’s stone!
Konami really needs to capitalize on telling a longer format story with the monsters and if you need a human character we last saw bastion in masawa from GX living in the monster world with Tonya and they could’ve had a kid who is a hybrid now wouldn’t that be interesting?
Not to mention Jaden who both now is a human and a duel monster spirit, able to fight off other monster spirits and even summon his cards with real physical bodies and abilities of what they have. Jaden is basically what a kid of a human and a duel monster spirit would be.
We've already seen this with the World Legacy series, which plays out like a JRPG, as well as the journey of Albaz and Ecclesia which started in Dogmatika and detoured through Tri-Brigade and Swordsoul, among other places.

Fascinating Background info on libromancers. There is a German book series written by Cornelia Funke that revolves around people with very similar powers. I really liked the books when I was younger so finding out the backstory of lubromancers was a throwback for me, thanks for that.

Same, I:P is my favorite Link monster and my favorite lore because how she's not seen in the anime. Reason why GX is so good, it follows through the monsters and their world. A new Yu-Gi-Oh anime that continues this would be great. GX was just the opening of the dimension and of humans being capable of fusing as one with monster spirits, as shown by Jaden with Yubel using Super Poly. I:P is basically a walking Super Poly but in a more weaker form.
Top 10 Yu-Gi-Oh monsters with weirdest type -
Wall Shadow, XX-Saber Ragigura, Garoozis, etc.
For example: Wall Shadow doesn't look like a warrior, it's a creature on side surface.
I like to imagine like gravino, maskarina join S-Force (and became S:P), she have a lot of faces so maybe she make a face "inspirated" by Chiyomaru (that may have save her from nightchasser).

A few things you missed, geekboy:
1. The Mikanko follow a parallel to Ameterasu and her sacred weapons. The person who is said to have built the shrine to Ameterasu is YamatOHIME-no-MIKoto. Mikanko itself a pun on this, where the Mikoto is turned into Milan (citrus) and (Ko) children. Essentially children of the citrus. This isnt only represented as a joke but is played seriously. Ohime built the staircase between the Heavenly and Earthly realm as per my previous point, and the staircase that connected them is actually made from the segments of citrus that recur throughout the archetype.
2. Another major aspect of the importance of the citrus is it seems to represent a type of Shengxiao, or Chinese Zodiac. Ha-Re represents the mouse, Ni-Ni represents the cat (hence Mikanko Rivalry of Cat and Mouse), and Ohime represents the Cock (Great Mikanko Ceremony).
Hu-Li stands out, however, and instead invokes a power of a god that rivals Ameterasu, and not part of the Shengxiao, the Nine-Tailed Fox. Arahime is the embodiment of Ameterasu and the Nine-Tailed Fox manifested as one in the Earthly realm.
Based on this there's a number of Mikanko missing, who we will likely see in the future.
3. The number 3 is an important aspect of Shintoism, showing up in the Tomoe, representing Man, Earth, and Sky. Where Ohime represents the Heavenly realm, Ameterasu's "equips" represent the Earth, and Mikanko themselves represent the people. This is also why the Mikanko are 3 stars each, why Kagura has Ohime, Ha-Re, and Ni-Ni, why Ohime is a 6 since she's two connections of 3, the syllables of Mikanko are 3. And Arahime depicts the further connections of Ohime, Hu-Li, and their holy equip.

Mancer is more akin to spellcaster in general. A necromancer would be an undead spellcaster. A cryomancer would be an ice based spellcaster. A chronomancer would use time based magic.
Libromancer would be a book based spellcaster.

I still believe Evil Twin is the part of S-Force lore too. Because they're criminal in "futuristic" background too. This is my favorite lore because it is rare to see a Sci-fi story from Yugioh.

If I can write the S-Force lore:
1. Higher Ups didn't like S-Force soft approach and most big criminals are still not caught yet.
2. So, Higher Ups demand harsher approach (kill them) to eliminate the criminal completely and give a warning to other criminal.
3. S-Force got new member who want do anything to beat the criminal (Nightchasser, or maybe more, I hope).
4. Rappa didn't like this procedure. She quit and uphold justice with her own way. (the new trap)

Man, there are a lot of interesting and cool Card Backstories that were Overlooked outside of our Real World and the Main Yu-Gi-Oh Storylines throughout the Years.

I'd like to think the Eldlixirs are reference to a process or phases of alchemy due to the colors represented. Not to mention it turned living things into gold so there's that as well.
Eldlixir as referencing the Elixer of eternal life, and the philosophers stone, both things alchemists were desperately trying to make

That seems like an interesting concept to explore. Maybe it can be an entry in a bigger topic, like unusual types for a monster, and then we could expand it into a whole list.

This was yet another interesting List, I really like these Videos, with Numbers 7, 6, 4, 3 & 1, being my favorites from this particular List, as I am unsure which of these i prefer more, regardless I really hope we get to learn more about these.
Honestly, I feel like they should just embrace these Backstories and just Adapt these Stories into their own Yu-Gi-Oh! Spin-off Series or something,

Fun fact eldlich the golden lord and his fusion form are the only good light zombies in the whole game.
A fun fact about eldlich: the archetype is based on the 4 steps for creating the philosophers stone/Elixir of Life in alchemy according to some old texts, being the Blackening, the Whitening, the Redening, and the Yellowing. We've got eldlixer cards which correspond to each step except for the Yellowing, the implication to me being that either they were planning it as support down the line OR Eldlich himself is meant to be the final step.
With how it went, eldlich is definitely the final step. Feels like the story is deliberately lying or tricking the mages into reviving the eldlich lord

I always forget to check that since I just assumed to check the Japanese name first. It does come up on occasion that the TCG indeed influences the lore overall.
And on a little metanarrative, those mystic weapons the Exiled Force obtained didn't make them stronger, it made them weaker, as their effects are now total absolute garbage.

I like to think that Dark King got the power to beat Ha Des from the Archfiends of Pandemonium, who were plotting to resurrect their Emperor in the chaos, and Call of the Archfiends actually depicts them taking their payment from Dark King. I'd say that Pandemonium's effect of searching an Archfiend after death by an effect, and all their practices with resurrection, like Des Rook and Archfiend's Roar back that up.
I think 'powerful rebirth' comes just seconds before 'reject reborn' bc the king has the exact same pose and the ground has the same glow. King attempts to revive (as zombies do in their free time) but ha des was standing ready with his archfiends and instantly grabbed him and, based on the swirly background and flying debris in 'call of the archfiend', i assume they dragged him into another world/dimension
Hear me out wild theory:
Night chaser doesn't have a face reveal but we agree she has ninja aspects. Night chaser is a link 1 monster also with 800 atk points. Night chasers target was a secret or maybe her target was always chiyomaru. You stated that they already had time travel powers. Could it be that Nightchaser is just chiyomaru from the future and ip masquerena has just fused the 2 together. Hence why her attack doubled and we dont see nightchaser again. They're not actually fighting they're before confrontation. maybe that moment wasn't a fight but a reveal that Nightchaser was always chiyomaru.

And if you look at the empty space of Missing Force where the Demonfacespirit guy should be you can see some butterflys flying around implying his death
I love how they have been making archtypes have stories. It makes even bad archtypes more fun and gives a reason to collect outside of playability.

ah the s-forces oh i like to say the inspector gadget deck no because they have a lot of option.. but because are really not good in is job because yes the effect work versus the card they fight..in theory but in the end never win and is more clear in the real card game when psy game , time thief ,mascarade have more impact.
And i don´t know there something weird about the lore of s-force because they act like the good guys like a overwatch team... but they never try to help the poor girl in the time thief story to bad guys , d-gamma look like a evil scientific, yes all the card they fight are criminals...but we never see make something really bad like destroy countrys , terror the humanity only thinks that angry the s-forces and after see the change of chiyomaru could be that the s-forces are evil...oh are really bad in is job i don´t know and i need to know

a lot of these newer artworks like twin sisters are totally overdesigned. You can't make out their main shapes with all the excessive details that blend together. It's like these newer artists hate negative space and want to fill every corner of the box the artwork goes in.
Notice how a lot of older cards just don't include a detailed background because the monster is the important part.

Oh, and in Sinister Yorishiro, Ha Des is depicted on card with Vanitys Fiend and Emissary from Pandemonium, which explains why Ha Des went for Archfiends after his defeat by King of the Abyss.
Oh, that's right! I forgot about that card. The artstyle is so different from other Yugioh cards I barely noticed Ha Des in there.
The time thief cards are connected to the S force cards it’s implied the s force are pretending to be heroes but seem to be evil.

I appreciate that the first card mentioned after the Panty and Stocking-resembling Live Twin archetype is Geek Boy.
Live Twin is a reference to a cartoon made by the ppl that made Hello Kitty, the show was called Star⭐Twins and the red haired one was named Ki-Ki and the blue haired one is La-La,,, like Kisikil and Lil-La... I wish more ppl realized the reference(and stopped referring to it as a waifu deck)

It's funny on how IP Masquerena got powercreep by SP Little Knight just recently. The S Force lore has yet to be explored further but my favorite lore will always be the Dark Ruler Ha Des one.
It looks like perpatua has a better glove then the future versions
What if the S-Force are the shadowy figures trying to regulate the screwing with the timelines that the Time Thieves are getting up to
If you play master duel, the s-force has a solo mode that shows from their end they are law enforcement prossionals who are chasing after the time thieves

Actually, it's S:P Little Knight on Small Scuffle, not Rappa Chiyomaru (technically). The former is the latter post-defection from the S-Force, so the "Protecting I:P" theory would likely be more accurate.

30:20 Now as wild as this might be, consider the following: over in Rush Duels, there is an ongoing storyline for a card called Handy Lady, who is a Futurisic deliverywoman that does oddjobs. She received a Secret Order message and followed the signal to an abandoned laboratory where she found a mysterious child hooked up to some cables, and recently broke her free.
What if the two targets S-Force Pla-Tina is assigned after happens to be thoseo two? and the running them is a lot of their targets happen to be Psychic Type Monsters-which happens to be the same Type as Handy Lady.
Can't wait for War Rocks to be taken serious so people could explore that story more. The 'implicated' story is pretty sad. You have the climax with all the friends fighting the fire beast in Ordeal with the current ending with Meteoragon fighting Bashileos in Generation.

My royal luck is sometimes insane in Master Duel. Royal IP may be the coolest. Next best might be my Royal Apex Avian and Ariseheart for a Harpie Kashtira deck.
I think it time for an M-Warrior archetype! Don’t know how it would work, especially since there are 2 Normal Monsters in the archetype compared to the usual 1 that other archetypes like Gunkan Suships have, but I’m sure we can figure something out.

i only just learned about I:P Masquerana being connected to s force and by extension time thief a few days ago going through master duel solo mode and it blew my mind i never knew about that before bc she's one of my favorite link monsters and Redoer is one of my favorite xyz
