    Very good entry. Who knew that about that Eddie Vedder song... and that it wasn't Eddie Vedder.
    Perhaps my favorite Paul Simon record. Such a gorgeos record.
    Best of luck Brian.

    You spin that globe very impressively. I had Falco as a kid but not really feeling the need to pick up again. I was not aware he passed in car accident. Go betweens are great , maybe you only have one since I think virtually all records are expensive and hard to find.

    • @EmbryonicRobot
      @EmbryonicRobot  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I can't spin a basketball on my finger, so this is as close as I can get to that. I did once see a used copy of the first Go-Betweens box set a few years ago, and the price seemed to expensive, so I passed. Looking back, I think it was a great deal. I hate when that happens.

    Hi Brian - thanks for the shout out very kind. I was lucky enough to find an OG Bone Machine with the Going Out West 10" included for £8 at a fair about 10 years ago - I must revisit it as not played for ages. Interesting approach to the continents. I think I was surprised you didn't have much to pick from for South America and Africa (is that fair?) but good alternative choices...Madame Butterfly makes it into my top 100 singles I own list I think...cheers Dale

      Hi Dale, My, you got a deal on that Bone Machine with the 10" too. This contest made me realize that I am largely focussed on Canada, USA, and the UK. I should really try to be more diverse 🙂 We will see how that goes ...

    Excellent job Brian! The globe was a nice touch. I always learn something with your videos. I didn’t realize that Big Harvest was a Canadian guy, nor did I realize there was a lawsuit involved with EV’s cover. Thanks for the kind words Brian. I’m looking forward to seeing you again in a couple of weeks. Consider yourself entered!

    Yes! An Embryonic globe spin to kick it off! Outstanding! You waited for Tom Waits. Not something I would do. 🤠 Patty just walked through the room and heard me watching your video. “Is that Brian from the party?”…I love Marley’s Survival album. I remember Falco. Sad ending. “I can’t remember the last time I listened to this”…I love that Madame Butterfly from Malcolm. Very cool music video too for it as well. “I can’t really put John Cale in another video”…I will remember those words when you go a part 11! I actually have a copy of that Indio album, but on CD from when it was first released. It’s a cool album. Nice logo hat. Go Argos! ✌️

      Yes, agreed on Go-Betweens. They are a band I rarely see anything from in the bins. Ii once saw a used copy of the box the Go-Betweens Anthology Volume 1 in a store a few years ago and I opted not to buy it. I regret that decision now 😔

    Hi Brian. I love Rhythm of the Saints though it kind of sits in the shadow of Graceland. I was out digging with a friend on Saturday, and he pulled out a copy of ROTS and asked me if he should pick it up, being a fan of Graceland, and I don't think I gave too convincing an answer as he ended up not picking it up! 'Survival' is one of the Bob Marleys I'm still looking for - my Bob collecting is kind of geological in time-span. I've never seen a copy of Fans, though I have Duck Rock in the collection.

    Well done, as always Brian! I became aware of Chris' channel via Peter's 'Music Is A Journey' entry, have subscribed and enjoying his video library. I had that original version of 'Hard Sun' by Indio on an old CD compilation issued by CMJ (e.g. College Music Journal) - it's a great song. Did not realize Indio was just one guy. I also only have one Go-Betweens (Tallulah), and I've griped before how much their catalog can cost. Making a list to see what I can come up with for an entry as well.

Some of my friends loved that song along with Life Is Life, Rock Me Amadeus, and Relax by Frankie Goes to Hollywood. I guess I’m used to hanging out with people whose tastes differ from mine. Either that or I’m just an oddball.

    Tom Waits is a great random selection and Bone Machine is a great album and I recently bought the vinyl as I had the CD as well. Until the reissue, prices were exurbanite for a vinyl copy. I am a fan of the Paul Simon and Bob Marley albums too. I do remember the big Falco hit but not much else. I was thinking about doing this contest and I was going to chose The Go-Betweens, now I'll have to reconsider. I looked up if anyone did a song called Antartica and I was sure you were going to use John Cale. Great shoutout.
