Hi Jim, really appreciate your passion and skills in DIY the maintenance of these beauties. Great work! I recently come across the exact some fault codes and this video came to my rescue. I probably will go for the cheaper GM-compatible alternatives, too. Just wondering how is the reliability of these NYT solenoids? Where are they manufactured? Did the fault codes appear again after replacement? Sorry for all the questions, cheers mate!!
Hi Bryan, thanks very much. They are super. I have no fault codes pop up any more. And driven throughout the entire rev range 👌 Really, I suggest going for these. The Alfa Romeo version are probably just rebranded same items. Cheers 🍀✌️
Weird, I've recently had exactly the same issue. Codes 10 and 11 came up. I was told that indicates that the timing chain is about to go. Since resetting the codes the 'check engine' light hasn't come back on though and the car is running perfectly. I've done maybe 10 separate trips (50 miles maybe) since and everything is OK. I'm.still uneasy about it though so I may take your approach. Your video is great timing though!. There is very little online about it... Cheers and best of luck with yours 👍
@@939driver Music to my ears! I did have a 'specialist' say I should get the chain done, but then quoted me £2500..(!) Financially appealing and, I may be naive here, but I figure if the chain is going to go I'll probably hear that it doesn't sound right before it's too late (famous last words..) Thanks again (your car's looking stunning by the way. I've got the standard silver trim against the red leather, yours is a really nice, subtle contrast to that)

Hi good video. I have the p0011 code but no engine light. I’ve replaced the solenoid but still get the error. Any suggestions. I’ve replaced the solenoid with a febi bilstein brand.
@@939driver in your video you show many NTY with these references since it is written on your boxes. Because with your PNs it sent me back to these pieces, the same as you.
I cleaned the engine bay once before a long time ago, and I only drive it in good weather. That's how it stays really clean. Also wipe it occasionally with quick detailer and a microfiber
You panicked a bit? Imagine how much I had panicked yesterday when I bought 159 and 2 minutes after, as soon as I merged to the highway, I heard beeps and Check Engine warning on the dash. 🤣 I have a P0010 code. But I have a paper from the service, a year and a half ago, where they tried cleaning both valves, due to the permanent fault codes. So I will be changing both of them. What is the thightening torque for the solenoids/valves? BTW, what happens when the battery is disconnected? Does it lose audio system codes, time and date, and so on?
P0017 on my 2.2jts brera, what could be problem, replaced camshaft sensors, crankshaft sensor, oilt temo sensor and still that code? I know p0016 is stratched chain but p0017 and chain is good
P0017 is cam/crank sensor I believe. But if you replaced those already I am not sure why it remains. Did you reset the fault code after replacing the cam position sensors?

Yea p0016 is probably stretched chain. I done the cam chain on mine p0016 code is no more 😁 other systems of streched chain is a slight variation in revs on idle loss of power in the mid range. I was also getting solinoid code that has also cleared after doing chain. Good video bud 👍

Thanks Tim! 🍀🙏✌ yeah P0016 is timing chain, but P0010 amd P0011 can be fixed by replacing the solenoids, or in some cases just cleaning them 😁💪
