Despite the slow parts of this game, I think this game was freaking sick and the final boss IMO was really something special. If CBUIII gets another chance to make a mainline FF or dlc I feel like its going to be even better now with all the feedback they've gotten.

I love people going nuts about Asmon not figuring out how to use Odin skills as soon as he gets it when he's not been casting one of the Titan abilities correctly the entire time, or the fact he almost never gets use out of the Lightning Orb after he casts.
eh. its more the fact that asmon refuses to read anything or actually tries to use anything correctly. when he played elden ring he kept missing obvious chests for example, then complains about the game barely having any chests while flicking his cam around like a mad man every 1.2s. bro is frustrating to watch at time, but still entertaining.
Let me quote on that... "This game is so good that I think I wont play the whole game and finish it and spread it all over the span of multiple months where I just play for a few hours each time, that is how good the game is"... If the game was as good as everyone says, he would have finished it the week he started to play it... Which means the game is dogshit and every FF fan was right that this aint a propper FF game... Dogshit story that will bore you to death, very bad combat, all enemies are super easy to beat, "open world" my ass cuz there is nothing open about it, 99% of the time the soundtrack doesnt make any sense why play peaceful music during intense fight, no party system like it was in other FF games, worst voice acting a videogame ever had and the tip of the iceberg, you play as a dumb antagonist that is selfish and wants to keep the world the way it is because he likes it this way and doesnt want the world to be born anew for new generation of humans... Note that Ultima does not want to destroy the world but rebuild the world to the state where it was before, its like if you reinstall windows...
Everyone's played that game where there's a super badass strong bad guy but when you get their power or they join your team they're nerfed to pathetic level. Level 5 Zantetsuken is that rare one where you get to feel as OP as the boss was.
I have played the whole game with german dubs as a way to practice my listening and god damn, what a treat that was. I don't know if the language itself feels 'stronger' or if the dub has more punch to it, but some cutscenes got 10x more hype thanks to whatever it was. Barnabas' speech was definitely one of them, and Clive arguing with his mother before fighting Bahamut was INSANELY good. Despite that, this game is a masterpiece, my GotY for sure. It has been a good while since a game has captivated me this much, especially due to the plot.

I was following these vids along with my playthrough, and I sae Chatters during Titan and Bahamut, saying Odin was better, but tbh I really feel that Titan in terms of cinematic triumphance, and the banging soundtrack in all phases really took the cake for me.
Man... as much as I love this game, Odin part of the game had three things that really didn't click with me. First is when Clive goes into limit break and gets kicked in Kanver. Just seemed so... weak and out of place. Then secondly, Clive fights 1v1 against full powered Barnabas and wins. But this is only like few days to few weeks at most since his first defeat in Kanver. Didn't make sense to me how Clive became such a better swordsman in such short time. And lastly, the fact that Clive doesn't kick Barnabas or cut his arm off when he's trying to give Clive Odin's power. These three things just did not work for me at all because they seemed so forced. It's a shame because the actual fight against Odin I think is amazing. I know it lacks the eikonic spectacle but I think that fit the theme because this isn't just a fight about power but about their ideologies
Barnabas was more powerfull then Clive, but he lost against Clive, because it is purpose and fate, one which he embraces. Remember that he worships Ultima
The reason we dont fight barnabas in his full eikon form, is because barnabas knows he cant kill Clive or his Master will be very very angry, so he intentionally went slightly easier on him, as he never meant to kill him outright
That last phase of the fight in NG+ took me almost a dozen attempts… If you die in NG+ they don’t refill your potions. You get two regular pots and if that’s not enough then you get to die until you learn the fight.
Using potions is for casuals in the first playthrough as well. I never used one, and never upgraded my equipment either. It's an action game, learn how to play rather than getting carried by stats and free healing.

I really enjoyed all the eikon fights in this game. I thought Odin was cool but I would have liked to fight him on the horse at the end. I think it wasn’t quite as good as Bahamut and Titan but it was still good.
I think that we will have Odin Eikon fight in the DLC. Something tells me that we will control Cid and explore is relationship with Benedikta and the fallout between him and Barnabas. Also... maybe we will see Leviathan??
I thought the Odin fight was very disappointing compared to all the others due to him being hyped up so much and the hype not being met. Part of that being because the coolest scenes were split up over stretches of time

The ost was epic, Barnabas VA did a 5* work. Also, people dont seem to realize that this boss fight is a homage to Dante vs Vergil in DMC3
@@nerostark4320 that's fine if it's the best fight for you, it wasn't mine. The homage for DMC did nothing for me because I don't care about DMC. What I do like are the homages to Dragon Ball so those fights with situations like that meant more to me. Like Ifrit and Typhon with the Hellfire being used like a Spirit Bomb or the beam battle of the last fight between Ultima and Dion. That's the beauty of opinions, we all have different things we like.

I associate Odin as riding a horse so it was a little disappointing he didn’t have it outside of the cutscenes. I think the boss was good though, would have liked an Ifrit v Odin bit at the end but I guess the arena wasn’t suited for it.
what really grinds my gears is how nobody explains that odin's ability works not only by just holding it, you need to use his special to equip his sword, AND THEN hold it and release it

Once they're down better to use the Garuda/Shiva attacks and then go into the raw damage from Bahamut and others. Lightning Rod is a niche case of course, main thing there is just getting it on the target before going ham.

The plot of the game explained - Clive goes mad, screws up everything in his kingdom, then they brand him, then suddenly he finds out his friend, finds out about his powers and tries to stop the world reset that is supposed to put everything back to normal and balance itself out... That being said, Clive and his friends are actually the bad guys cuz they want the world for themselves the way it is... The world would be destroyed and reborn which was needed due to Clive destroying them crystals and people going crazy over them and when the "god" was released thanks to Clive whom screwed up, instead of just taking the hit and doing what was needed, he refuses because he is so selfish that it doesnt make sense anymore... At first it made sense that he wanted to save all those whom were branded and make them all equal, that could have been done quickly without any other problems if he just did what Ultima told him and let the world be reborn a new... this is also the main reason why the whole story is dogshit cuz it doesnt make any sense on why the hell is he doing all that...
To be very honest, i’m shocked that his array of abilities are so…unsynced. No defensive eikonic abilities like garuda or titan, each slot has an ultimate which limits his dps out put..not spamming ranged attacks while focusing on movement mechanics…
This dude is constantly having Elden Ring/Dark Souls flashbacks - open area: this a boss? Unique door - this a boss? Beating down a weak mob - big dick boys.
He's done no side quests or really leveled up beyond a few bounties and the main quest, that's why his attacks, especially that Odin one, aren't doing much damage. I used that Odin ability on 5, and it does like 20K+ damage. This is also why Joshua seemed kind of trash, because the side characters abilities are connected to yours, so the stronger you are, the stronger they are.
You can’t even lose if you wanted to, the game doesn’t punish for dying, it revives you at mid fight and refill all you potions to full. Ultra Easy Mode…..
The game was great minus the lack of difficulty and awful fetch quests, I skipped basically all of em and refused to use potions and had fun If the devs get another chance hopefully they will do quality over quantity quests and unlock the hardest mode from the get go
If you like flashy action combat , a story about slaves and magic in a fantasy world, and don’t mind a lot of cutscenes and world building, you will probably like the game.
It's fantastic, but it's also divisive. If you care a lot about RPG elements and the game being faithful to the series, some things will turn you off. If you don't care about that and you just want to play a good game, it's an amazing game.
What happened to Asmon this Episode? He is way more aggressive towards characters and everything else than usual in my opinion. Maybe he doesn't like the game.
Thats Square Enix setting unrealistic financial expectations, They do this literally every time, they did it with FF15, with 7 remake, with 13, The game sold more than 7 remake in launch week and 7remake was ALSO on ps4, i consider that a success

On God FF15 was way better, I'm actually watching asmon play instead of playing it myself and I bought it on release because the beta impressed me lol. What a dogshit on rails game tbh. I'm not saying the story is bad or anything but the lack of a party which is a staple of FF and extremely simplistic combat with no open world just completely ruined it for me. Its nice to be able to just skip to the good parts. I 100% FF15 and got all trophies. Love noct and crew! Hopefully the next FF is not so fucking casual, this is basically just a better FF14 with unlimited cutscenes and dialogue with a few cinematic fights.
My guy, base ff15 was the exact same way with the party. They didn't let you control them till royal version. The only open world ff is 15 so what are you even mad about?

My favorite was Typhon, it was just satisfying using wildfire to dodge through all their attacks.

But why should they? All he has to do is read what it does.
I think it’s better than setting up Zantetsuken as one of the R2 abilities. Gives you more choices to deal that extra damage.

Not because it’s bad, it cost so much to make and Sony foot some of the bill so it’s exclusive. If it was released on PC as well it would be fine.

The game sold more than 7 remake in launch week and 7remake was ALSO on ps4, i consider that a success

On God FF15 was way better, I'm actually watching asmon play instead of playing it myself and I bought it on release because the beta impressed me lol. What a dogshit on rails game tbh. I'm not saying the story is bad or anything but the lack of a party which is a staple of FF and extremely simplistic combat with no open world just completely ruined it for me. Its nice to be able to just skip to the good parts. I 100% FF15 and got all trophies. Love noct and crew! Hopefully the next FF is not so fucking casual, this is basically just a better FF14 with unlimited cutscenes and dialogue with a few cinematic fights.
My guy, base ff15 was the exact same way with the party. They didn't let you control them till royal version. The only open world ff is 15 so what are you even mad about?

I am playing on final fantasy mode and man the game is so much harder even ikon battles are harder not just that but the enemy AI is better.
Asmon is the best to fall asleep to. Right next to the history channel and rain. 🤌🏽 Explains some of my crazy dreams too 😅
