"I ask not for acceptance, only forgiveness" had me in tears. I respect Dion so much.
God I can’t even bring myself to watch this again. I loved Dion (and all of the characters) and that line brought me to tears. I pray in some fantasy he lived but man they did a 10/10 on the character development.
@saltysantos yea bro Dion, Clive, Cid, Gav, Joshua, all top tier character development. Also Barnabas, man his development and back story is the stuff of legends.
This scene is so powerful I cried
@@saltysantoshe’s a dragoon and there weren’t any flashbacks or sad music, also no body for confirmed death
Straight to the feelings 🤧
I like how ultima starts off as this emotionless thing, like he doesn't sound like he's into any of the entire fights. He's just bored and wants it to end as quickly as possible. But by the end of the fight, he turns from bored and uncaring. To curious and concerned to downright angry and afraid Of what's happening and how he's ultimately going to lose control to something he deems so inferior
So basically like many other JRPG final bosses
The epitome of a classic Final Fantasy and a godlike main villain who makes you question human beings and philosophies of all existence.
This is like a beginning of final fantasy
Square should do a Final Fantasy crossover with Marvel, make it about the infinite stones causing the two worlds to collide.

Clive casually throwing a 999,999 damage punch. Love to see it.

A *badass* battle of Summons where Ifrit, Phoenix and Bahamut tagteam a nihilistic existential monstrosity for the fate of the World? DON'T MIND IF I DO!!
Lvl 90 Summoner
when Dion asked for forgiveness, that really felt as if he is the human personification of Bahamut

And one of Barnabas's attacks!
And now it is truly extinct

Back when I was a teenager I played a ff based rpg where we players could roleplay a summon. I picked Ifrit because of ff8 and 10. Seeing this made me remind of every word i used to describe my actions during the roleplay and it's awesome.
Would that FF based RPG happen to be FFD6 by chance?

Visually stunning!!!! Villains are supposed to look scary and they delivered with this one. I’m so happy that Im alive to witness this epic game!!!! Hopefully it goes for game of the year!

This game man… I can’t even put into words the incredible journey this game took me on. I did not want it to end. So glad it’s getting two DLCs!
Might be the first FF where the finishing move is a PUNCH TO THE FACE. Loved it! This fight scene was so good. The cinematics, gameplay mechanics, and voice acting are just on another level. Great job to Square and CBU3 for an amazing game!
Everytime you hear your friends and families voices when you use the eikon powers….gets me teary eyed. Reminds me of advent children where they’re all helping cloud to throw him in the air
You would love the Endsinger fight in FF14 then, I'm 100% sure Yoshi-P just took that as inspiration
Some of the best music ever composed for any media source. This entire musical sequence is perfection.
Eh it was a mid theme at best

This was the best game ive ever played in my life ive never cried in life over a video game i went to sleep last night crying my wife thought someone had died until she found out i was talking about the game lol more the less the story is mind blowing.
I went into a Reddit hole to try and find any threads of hope and cried myself to sleep. They did well building the characters and world here.

I wouldn't be surprised if Asura's Wrath was a favorite of those who made this
That last punch kind of implies it doesn’t it? At least that’s what I thought lol
Totally, the magnitude of this fight is almost the same as the ones in Asura's, amazing!
What a legendary game that was.
Well Titan's lost battle should have told you
You could almost _hear_ the button press with that final punch. God knows I did.
This fight had me with a massive grin the entire way through, easily one of the best conclusions to a game I've ever experienced
Also, Dion went out like the god among Chads.
Ultima had to power up his beam _twice_ to finally overpower Dion.
And Dion still got the last shot in.
And this was a mothercrystalless Bahamut.
Dion has indeed earned the right to the mantle of 'Chad.'
finally beat the game today and wanted to come here to watch it all again because of how amazing it was! Finally Ultima showing some emotion in his voice and getting BIG MAD about it XD
An epic display of the "power of friendship" to defeat anime Night King in a Dragon Ball Z fight.
This one of the few times I feel the power of friendship was done right. God I love this game!
That final punch makes me remember the moment you kill Chakravartin in Asura's Wrath
Someone working on the game definitely did his homework on what made Asura´s Wrath so good spectacle wise and they then boosted it by giving it better gameplay.
Yes this fight has an huge influence from that fight
Bruh thats last final fantasy bar he dropped puts the cherry on top of this goated masterpeice what a fucking journey 10/10 standing ovation the crowd goes wild
Gotta appreciate how much of a beast Dion truly is
This is truly the best ending to a FF game ever. Damn near perfection.
What sets the apart from most FF games is most of the main characters including the protagonist dies. It's a bittersweet ending. Yeah, the world is saved but at a heavy cost.
Ultima is my favorite villain. His voice actor needs a Grammy
Play Xenoblade 3. Same guy similar character
Just have to say i love how they included the actual Eikon abilities that you can perform in that sequence of such epic fashion when clashing with ultima. God damn that ending is just so damn beautiful, sad mine you, but still so beautiful. Now this is a final fantasy where i would want a dlc where it would be possible to save clive and dion. Cause i know sometimes the hero dies in the end but damn it square can't ya let this one live.
Heck, if a dlc dropped for this, it would be trying to figure out where the flip leviathan went off to
@@solarisnova9530 I think DLC will be two possibilities.
1. Joshua the chronicler along with Torgal trying to find Leviathan the Lost, after the death of Clive.
2. Prequel from the time when Cid was Lord Commander of Waloed, and fought Bahamut.

So where I can find that song
@@Patches234did you find out?
That last attack, the one Clive did on ultima, that fire 🔥 punch, was AWSOME!!!!!
And thunder, courtesy of Cid
Man that last flames of rebirth shriek is something else at 50:38.
I thought I was the only one who heard rage+sadness when he heard his brother repeat his oath when he let it the flames rage.
From a Naval Officer (with a naval artillery specialty) to a Marine Corps infantry little brother, I know that scream, from personal experience from protecting my little brother all these years. He's 20, and I'm 27 now.
Using that ultimate so many times, I was expecting the same sound effect. It reminds me of inFamous Second Son, when you use your orbital drop ultimate in a boss fight after losing your brother, but instead of grinning like usual, Deslin is crying. Amazing integration, makes it hit so much harder.
I Originally thought it was Ultima, but thinking of it as clive crying out when using his brothers power is depressing
53:00 it became asura at a moment .. lmao .. love this !!
This story and game is the first since 10 I’ve felt so invested in the characters. I cried so many times playing this game and can’t even bring myself to watch this scene again yet.
I hate how attached I got to them
7/10 you can fire magic the fire bombs....
@@creepmysterThe lack of elemental damage bothered me, unfortunately. It made all moves kinda feel the same
@@creepmysterIronic you say that given what their main weakness in FF2, the game they first appeared in, was.
Anyone else feels like Joshua lived at the end? Not pointing at the book, but it seems like Clive gave back his phoenix powers that Joshua bestowed unto him. His chest wound is visibly gone right after. And fuck me, the entire flashback, back to when they were kids hits so damn hard. Protecting Joshua is and always was Clive's purpose that he himself sworn to do. To see him hurt to the point of almost fatality, twice, with the first being by his own hand, must've hurt him so damn much.
My dude, he's PHOENIX. It shouldn't be hard to assume he survived.
Add after credit to your point
@@AzureRoxeBut he had given up his Eikon. So i doubt he couldve revived himself unless he became crazy. Clive mostly revived him though
Not only Joshua, but Clive too, even if his left arm is petrified, it is almost sure that he survived.
I don't know if you did the secondary quests, but in them they gave us some hints to what the end really means. In one of them, Clive states that he wants to write a book after the last battle, the post credits hints that he could do it at last.
If this is not enough, in the last secondary quest he talks with Jill about leaving Valisthea after the final battle, and Jill makes an analogy about Clive returning to her the same way the dawn comes every morning, which is also conected to the last scene with Jill smiling to the sunrise
@@davidbourlot8175yeah but how Can you heal petrification ? They are no cure....and with no Magic ?
Of all the voices that cheered Clive, Cid and Gav made me cry, and Mid made me smile. If Elwin were still alive, he would've been beside himself with pride in his 3 children. Yeah i know, Jill isnt his, but she may as well have been.
Dude, props for using a bulding with 0 mobility. I would've gone mad, was never capable of removing phoenix dash the entire run.
I don't give flying sht if turn-based purists think this isn't Final Fantasy
This is a masterpiece.
I know, right?
Best FF game imo. 🔥
Clive def wrote the book at the end under joshua’s name. He got the title from that last line to ultima lol
I've almost hugged my monitor and tells Clive everything is gonna be alright...
Crying my eyes out, bro... Oh boy...
Now that i finished both DLCs, and the game itself i really regreat not listening every single line this team wrote.
It’s amazing the deph lf this story and the journey it takes you on…
It’s an unbelievable game. Glad i played it.
I can’t agree more! I’ve been waiting for something like this since PlayStation 3.
FF XIII couldn’t deliver it even with 3 parts, FFXV had everything but failed and got completely lost on the way… but finally got what I wanted in this one!
Massive and Absolute Epicness, strong enough to squeeze all the dopamine from one’s brain!
Straight up gurren lagann ending and I love it
Oh good! I’m not the only one who sees the similarities!
This is what final fantasy 15 should have been.
Yeah should be MC and anti hero work together to defeat bahamut..
Instead after 10 years of unending development since first announcement we got boyband driving simulator.
I mean it's not terrible or anything but I'd like to see something better than that after 10+ years of waiting.
Red Dead Redemption 2 is what FFXV should have been (I love both games btr)
That was literally the point of what Square Enix was trying to do with 16. Repair the mistakes.
Now the franchise is back on track.
10:02 "Oh..."
Ultima's "Oh" instantly made me chuckle as it made me think of Dafoes.
That last flames of rebirth scream got me big time.
Dion would have made an amazing main character had they decided to go a different direction. The casts in this version is the best I've seen since 7. Cid jill dion Joshua and gav i hope they all get DLC
They bizarrely changed the focus from a party to solo, much like their previous works crisis core and Lightning Returns, because they were under the assumption that it would make the game more "accessible". Pushing a button to switch characters in real time would be "inaccessible" to many supposedly. Dion could have been an even greater character if they ignored this and were more ambitious.
What a god forgets in the powers it creates. Its creations personify and strengthen them above its necessary. Belief is stronger than anything when it comes to your mind and soul.
When Clive have the Opportunity to Fight against Omega and/or Shinryu and won, then Ultima will run of Fear and would never Touch his "Creation" ever again
I wonder, can Clive actually absorb shinryu and omega like he did the others?
Which begs the question, I expected Omega to be connected to the fallen atleast? Im surprised he wasn’t even a hunt
@@alejandromomota6934 i think omega will return but not as one of the Hunts. Maybe they make a dlc just like in kh 3 where you have to finish the Story. And then it continues in a different Time like why leviathan died. And in this BIIIIIIG HOLE there is a shrine about two different Gods called Shinryu and Omega who these two represent past and Future and this Fight was so intense Omega has to separate itself to become Ultima and Shinryu used to much aether of the World, so he gave his Life energy back to the World for a Period of Time. AND SO MUCH MORE
I loved this game! I enjoyed it like when i was a kid 25 years ago
This is the most final fantasy that ever final fantasy
Adventurous and amazing. A breathtaking story illustrated in a gorgeously epic fantasy. For every new game that's released is never final, but always another Masterpiece! Final Fantasy! What a work of art!
Not only that, it was dark as hell, tragic and saddest
52:58 ASURAS WRATH RIGHT HERE! FEEL that QTE button mash as the fist goes right into his freaking FACE!
Ultima gameplay wise was the most fun final boss of the whole franchise, no cap
I feel like this game wouldn't exist without Asura's Wrath serving as a pariah many years ago...
The inspiration is obvious and as an Azuras Wrath fan and FF fan, this is the absolute win to me! 😍

I can't possibly fathom, outside of it being fantasy and plot armor, how Ultima was able to breathe never mind speak after having suffered a chest wound the size of a 50mm Howitzer shell and a punch-doing 99999 damage no less-that by all rights broke his neck. That fool should've been dead ere his head hit the ground.
A sucking chest wound is nature's way of telling you to slow down. A broken neck; to stop.
its like what clive did to titan but he was still ok when they fought in the final phase. i think the risen form is not the same as the normal primed form.
I'm sorry, but out of everything that happened in the fight let alone the entire game you're calling out a guy, who is capable of shape shifting his body, as questionable of how he's able to speak with a hole through his chest? Welp we have to draw the line somewhere i suppose.
He’s literally a god…
I mean, he is a literal god
That happened in the dream/soul world not the real one. It was his will the got destroyed.
As much fun as the Final Fantasy games are (and other murder god storys) it bugs me a little bit when the main villains go "I have unlimited power and am the creator of you and your world; but screw snapping my fingers and just ending you. Want to get up close and personal with fists and swords?"
Generally that means that, and ultima actually alluded to this, they have grown beyond the sovereignty of said gods power over them. Which is why they can fight them without worrying about simply being subjugated by their creators.
The eikons are fragments of Ultima's power, when clive collected all of them he had basically replicated Ultima's powers.
He tried that and Clive survived thanks to Joshua’s flames.
@@adarkwind4712Same with Asura's Wrath.

Totally. Bahamut/Ultima beam clash reminded me of Kid Buu blowing the planet, or Goku sacrificing himself against Cell.
Ultima and Dions beam clash was literally bardock vs frieza
I love that Ultima pulls the same trick he had Typhon pull earlier. Using his power of biogenesis to create new versions of himself then merging them together into him for a power boost
The final stage is similiar to final boss ff6 Kefka.
