  • Polyrhythms and Polymeters are often misunderstood - but they are simple concepts that can transform boring ideas into something special! New to music production? Download my free Music Producer Starter Pack here: bit.ly/3p4MMnq
Shout out to my Accelerator student, Jonathan, who just hit the Beatport Top 10 with his new track! Listen here and support if you dig:

Learning how to play polyrhythms and polymeters in your music creates complex, ever-evolving rhythms with less effort than you might think - ensuring that you can turn a boring loop into something constantly changing and grabbing listeners’ interest.
Both concepts are useful in all genres of music, but polymeters are particularly good in techno and melodic house.

Aready a must in +50% of my productions, aND not everything exactly quantized ( atleast 1 thing has to be humanized/swing) , and 1 delay in tempo and a delay thats out of tempo. HUMANIZING youre tracks gives a natural fealing (human ) AND NOT A COMPUTER TRACK. UNLESS YOU WANNA GO FOR A 1990 DETROIT TECHNO TRACK OR SOMETHING LIKE THAT.
      + polyrhythms = deadmaus
afterwatching the video i make mine different i make bars of 5 -6-7 and always a 4on the floor kick, i keap the track alwas in 4/4 duh but i just end the 5 or 6 or7 bars at 16 bars or 32 bars.
      2nd rework
ah okay you do that to, just like is deadmaus

Mate, fantastic video! I have listened to a lot of music all my life and I decided recently to get into producing. I started producing about a month ago, no prior musical experience, just a lot of ideas. I really appreciate how you explain the concepts in your videos from intuition - "It sounds more interesting", "Samba sound" etc - and make it very easy for viewers to follow what you're doing - tips regarding duplicating, showing keystrokes on screen etc. Great work mate, you've made it really easy to see how I can perform what I've got in my head. Better yet, you point out opportunities for experimentation which gets me excited to hit the DAW later. Great way to get students motivated and encourage creativity. Keep up the good work.

Love your videos. How many students do you have on your program, and how do you dedicate enough time to each student?

    • @EDMTips
