3 things I learned from you that made a clear difference in my mix has been 1. anchoring around kick level 2. top down mixing 3. starting with midrange. sounding much better on a variety of speakers (laptop / phone etc) and dialing in the low and highs "for support" is simpler and it delivers @@EDMTips
Seems like a useful methodology. I'll probably approach it a little differently since I use Sonarworks, and could just use the "smartphone" setting to toggle the eq on an off. I already use many of the presets in the translation check, but this video shows the benefit of using them earlier in the process, instead of leaving them to the end like I've been doing.
I definitely think that has helped. I have most trouble with bass though. Small monitors and good headphones. My mixes sound muddy in the low end on really subby systems so looking forward to watching that video.
I always do a test in the car (stock sound system in an 04 Camry - it's brutal but honest - even reference tracks I like don't sound great but the bass is managed enough), and on a hi-fi system (not terribly expensive). I always check vs reference with a quick master on my track to get the level. I'd be scoping out a second hand set of three way hi-fi speakers and an amp - they're not that pricey and although they're not surgical they provide a good perspective on how the bass will work in the club. Again, testing on these alternate systems vs reference is key.

Appreciate it! 🙌🙏Thanks for watching and supporting 🙂
Whats wrong with clipping? Thats how you get a loud mix. Your way is old school.
but you didn't mix a thing, man! just adjusted levels, that was pre mixed!
A very helpful and substantive video, but the way of editing the video, cuts and transitions gives me a headache and I can't concentrate on the content. Too many cuts, shots from different angle. I know that you want to attract attention, but TIK TOK style editing is a bad idea...
Don't take this as hate. I love your videos!
Thanks for the feedback, I really appreciate it and we will make changes in the future videos :)
If you listen music on phone speaker you deserve bad sound. LOL
Harsh! 😁
Not really
Eh?
ADHD video cutter
Thanks for the feedback!
@@EDMTips yeah sry I couldnt put it in a more polite way..... I was trying to focus on your channels in your DAW and it would cut away. Also the intro too many angles too fast. Imo. But who am I rly. I dont know if thats representative,or maybe im just slow in the head or whatever. But thank you for helping us out with mixing 🙂
nope. its just NOPE. sorry...
Don't be sorry
Hey mate, please tone down the edits and fluff floating all over the videos. Its OTT and distracting.
Thanks foe the feedback! I am personally happy with the edits :)
Nice IKEA Studio Desk 🤣 A mixing expert with a $500 setup pretending to be an industry specialist for some TH-cam peanuts
Ooo.. let me hear your masterpieces? Or are you just buying super expensive desks and think they make you a professional producer? 😂
The guy has really sound advice, don't worry about his furniture, just sit back and be educated... ;)

Still haven't heard anything you've created but it's easy to be degrading online, right?
