I have a Acura mdx and it's definitely not cheap at all. Only upscale is q7 and Range Rover . Plus the value in the truck is so worth the buy . Acura is definitely a luxury brand .
I have Acura MDX and this is my 2nd Acura. First one was Acura TL. My next car will be Acura RDX. It is fun to drive and manageable cost and great computerized system! My husband is driving ILX now.
That looked like a barebones base Q7 against a loaded to the teeth XC90. I know you folks don't get to choose trims, but this was hardly apples to apples. That won't change the cupholders or 3rd row space, but it would have been a fairer test.
Yeah Audi offers the 360 camera system for lane assist just like the volvo. The prestige has night vision, high beam assist, Bang&Olufsen stereo package, adaptive cruise control, and an adaptive chassis for air suspension and 4 wheel steering. Audi didnt get a fair shake here.
But the Q7 came towards the price of the others.. the Volvo and Range Rover were the outliers. In fact, the Volvo lost a few points in my head because it's literally $70,000 for an SUV. Yeah, no thanks.

Volvo only seems better if you're not actually buying. But when i actually decided to buy, i went w the MDX, best bang for your money, most reliable by far, and will depreciate in value at the slowest pace.
I wouldn't say so... I agree that the features itself are overall probably the best but I feel like the MDX for example will be much better in terms of price and reliability
It would appear that this road trip included stops in Quartzite for beef jerky and perhaps an In and Out burger run in Goodyear, AZ off of Litchfield Park exit?
Great comparison test, KBB! My pick would have to be the Volvo for the best well rounded vehicle, but I would recommend the MDX to the typical large family. It seems to be notably more spacious, and got one of the 'better' fuel econony (real world) ratings. The Volvo is just a true beauty inside and out, though! While, the Acura's interior is beginning to get a little long on the tooth (along with the Infiniti). The winner for interior design will have to go to the Audi, though! While the design is pretty out of this world. It is just way too expensive! Plus, that price wasn't even for the 3-row option! I guess brand names and reputations must compensate for such the price inflation! 😕 Keep up the great work, KBB! I cannot wait until I can conduct my full in-depth reviews of these vehicles, as well! I think the Volvo is the best overall. It is very simple and possibly the best driving. I say that because I have one as a daily driver. It is a T6 Inscription, magic blue exterior and the amber nappa leather interior, with the 19 speaker Bowers and Wilkins audio system, and with the beautiful Scandinavian music, it sounds like you are out in nature. The seats are comfortable and supportive, and the second row is also spacious. The third row, though, is a little bit tight, but I hardly use it. Instead, I use that space for cargo.
I don't necessarily believe that the XC90 has strong resale value. I own 3 Volvos, one of which is a 2009 XC90. Back when it was new, I purchased it for almost 60K! 2 years ago when attempting to trade in the XC90 for a newer XC60, I found out that my fully loaded, top of the line, AWD XC90 was only worth $6,500 with only 55K miles on it. I ended up trading in my 06 Base Jeep Wrangler Sport for almost 17K, even though it was almost 10 years old. I have vowed to never buy another Volvo, as you can get better value, comfort, and RELIABILITY from other big brands. Also when I say reliability sucks, I genuinely mean it. Volvos no longer live up to the reputation of being un-killable. I just paid 15K to repair my Volvo XC90 for an issue that I never even knew could exist. Overnight we had a rain storm, and water actually leaked from the fuse box, into the cabin of my 2013 XC60, creating a lake on the driver's side floorboard. After picking up my new 2015 Volvo XC60 over a year and a half ago, the axle snapped as I was merging onto I-10. Also that 2015 Volvo XC60; it's a limited edition Ocean Race model, costs over 55K brand new. Guess the price now? 2 years later, and I'm down at 27K. Depreciation is its biggest problem. The 2013 XC60 I bought almost a year old, a T6 model worth over 50K brand new, and I purchased it with 13K miles at $29,985. Just get the Infiniti...
