Haaa! This is one of the funniest comments I've ever seen on YT!!! funny, funny, funny. Thanks. Man, you have to be a storyboard writer! Aren't you? This would be a perfect film scene... I mean, I was really stunned when I heard "Drift Away" by the Stones for the first time. I went like: Hey, what's that? My Rolling Stones really play that? And they play it in such an incredibly sexy way? Most probably, I was looking at my speakers like seeing Cindy Crawford in 1991, who knows. But certainly I'd like to be invited to one of your parties, one day.
Mick Hello The Rolling Stones are brilliant I am stones fan The first version is better but saying that the Rolling Stones version was very well done ❤️💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙
CIRCUS Magazine or a similar one announced in early '74, the new Rolling Stones album of all covers. I remember Illegal Smile as the title, though maybe the writer had been speaking to John Prine or Stephen Stills instead.
There's another version called Drift away live. The version used to labeled as the Stones with John Lennon. Could it be that John's on backing vocals and guitar?
Yeah what a shame, I read somewhere why they didn't keep it but I can't find the article. I think they chose not to put it on the album because someone else had just released it before. Still the best version of that song IMO.
He did not, Mick taped his own backing vocals after the original take. But it's DAMN close, I thought it was keith too for a while.Keith isnt on this take at all, both guitars are Taylor aswell.
@@aleksanderness8142 Correct according to www.keno.org: Recorded November, 1973, never released. Mick Jagger on Vocals, Nicky Hopkins on Piano, Mick Taylor on Slide Guitar, Bill Wyman on Bass and Charlie Watts on Drums.
little imperfections make this song even more amazing. I love it so much
The Rolling Stones are the best!!!!! They play rock and roll, soul, funk, blues, country, folk, what a great groove band!!!!!

Only 19 but this reminds me of highschool. Thanks Mick, Keith, Charlie and Bill.
One of my favourite songs 👌
Such soul... Love the stones so much.. Fan for life and beyond.. -3
If you look at how the bands evolved, their styles, he Stones started with soul and sold it, the Beatles started without and grew one.
i play this at parties and people look at the speakers like seeing cindy crawford in 1991!!!!

This is missing one thing... Keith on backing vocals. That chorus would have been legendary with him on it

I can definitely hear him
Keith is definitely in the Chorus on backing vocals.
a potential #1 song relegated to the unreleased bin
It’s a cover

Stones! What more is there to say?
Not a Stones' song; It's a John Henry Kurtz's song

Can we officially have mick and Keith appointed as keepers of the pearly gates??? I mean that sounds more like a place I could get behind
I heard that the new Member of the rolling stones is a stretchy long Pink girl with a gem
Mick Taylor's voice can be heard for once
I can’t tell if his is there. I do hear Keith but that’s it.
keiths licks, even though sloppy, goes right to my soul, it wouldn't be the same if he played it perfectly

This does not sound like Keith 0.0?
It's Mick :)
Check out the Dobie Gray's version...
Oh my god they stole this from uncle kracker
Uncle Kracker really don't get the credit they deserve for their influence on the music that came before them. Shame, really.
