    Tucson is a city in Arizona, United States, the correct pronunciation is Too-Sun, two-son,
    it's a beautiful car from every angle, from new it comes with a 5 years unlimited mileage
    warranty and the top of the line is fully loaded, no other car in that price range comes
    with so much specification, if you want all the optional specification on a European car
    it would cost you twice as much,

    Are the Hyundai Tucson and the Subaru Crosstrek in the same category? I would like your honest comparative analysis of these two cars in terms of performance, safety, quality, and value for money.

    Oh one other thing too - the rear seats are also heated if you have the ultimate package in the Limited model. If you take trips or haul kids in the winter, this might be a really nice feature to have.
    Keep in mind the ground clearance is just 6.5" compared to 8.7" in the CX-5. Might be a big deal if you go offroad a lot.
    The Tucson's steering wheel is really nice. It feels fat so I can grip it better than other steering wheels. This blows away the one I have in my fully loaded Frontier truck. Also, I'm able to place my elbows on the padded center console and the door arm rest while driving. It helps when driving long distances because it prevents fatigue. I still have both hands on the steering wheel.

      +CarQuestion It's not perfect. I have some issues with it like the front bumper design, the limited interior and exterior colors, needs more power, needs more cargo space. The 2016 Tucson is one of the best up there. It got good design: exterior and interior better, tons of useful features, comfort, quiet cabin, less body roll, good length and width, etc. It's an all around good SUV for the working class family.

      Working class family? Lol I am single & just purchased the 2017 SE GLS model silver with black leather interior & it's gorgeous! I love it way better than my sports car I traded it in for..

    I like this vehicle too - but I've heard negative things about the DCT transmission - that it is jerky and unsafe? My other concern is those 19" wheels - 19" tires are very expensive in Canada. The Mazda CX5 GT also uses 19" wheels - I think I will go with the Forester 2.5 with less expensive 17" wheels/tires. Thoughts?

    • @theRealAV8r
      @theRealAV8r 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      From my reading, DCT can be a little jerky at times and at very low speeds, just the nature of the beast. But the 'unsafe' issue which affected a particular production run from 2015-16, where the vehicle wouldn't move was apparently fixed with software updates.
      These days its just a question of whether one wants to take on the task of learning dos and donts of DCT or not. Like apparently slowly creeping in traffic is a no no, you have to let a gap open then move forward.

    I'm looking at this model too in addition to the CX5. Price is comparable. I am looking at the AWD Ultimate package, but I'm not getting the iActiveSense on the CX5 if I do get it since surprisingly, Mazda doesn't add it on the AWD which means 6 to 8 weeks to special order. I've been driving for 30 years so I don't need a car to tell me I'm leaving the lane or that I need an auto cruise control. Hard to take those features off the Hyundai since their technology and iActiveSense version is in one package. So the Tucson is about $2K more than the CX5. I have to consider that since my wife will also be giving me her blessing and my budget was supposed to be $30K, but this is 2015, not 2005. What used to be $26K is now $30K:-)
    My driving impressions - The CX-5 handles better, feels just right. If I turn on sport, it affects just the transmission. The Tucson pulls a Transformer - it also automagically tightens the steering and suspension, where as the CX-5 doesn't. Maybe Mazda already tightened it in normal driving. I just don't know. The Tucson does hesitate from a stop and that could cost you. I was at a light during the test drive and I was going to turn right. My light was just turning red so I figured I could make the turn before the other cars can respond to their green light. Don't do that in the Tucson!!!! If you do, you might get into a wreck. First, it hesitates and the other cars actually catch up before the Tucson responds. Secondly, you are in a turn and when the turbo does kick in, you almost spin out. The best bet in the Tucson is stay put until the way is really clear and be careful when making turns not to step on the gas before the engine kicks in.

    Nice car. I must admit, that I'm not a fan of the dual clutch in the 1.6 turbo Tucson. The best way I can describe it, is like a learner driver driving manual for the first time. But it does perform well. It handles okay, and rides very comfortably, on its Australian specification suspension tuning. I prefer the 2.0 litre turbo diesel, with its conventional 6 speed automatic. Good torque and overall driveability, and a good match to the car. But the top spec diesel model, the Highlander, is close to $50000 here in Australia.

    • @CarQuestion
      @CarQuestion  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      We dont have a diesel here :(

    • @austprodriver
      @austprodriver 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +CarQuestion It's unfortunate that your market is denied from getting the diesel models of certain cars, like the Mazda turbo diesels, etc. I can only put that down to emissions, and emission regulations. I know that applies to USA, but I thought Canada would be far more independent in emissions regulations, and model specifications.

    3/11/2019 Can this vehicle go up mountains like in Denver, or Pennsylvania or is it under-powered?? I have an offer for a 2016 25k miles SE model for $16.500 US.. Turbo for same price but with 39 k,, I am hesitant on either one. They are pretty,,, but pretty wont get you up the long long upgrade mountain hills.. thank you,, Very nice video....

      It's not a underpowered turbo CUV. It's capable! But take notes that more maintenance is requiered with a turbo engine and a DCT!
