Three things I think I learned with this deck, feel free to discuss: -u need Bowmaster or you will lose at some point in the tournament to things like Grist, the Hunger Tide (Yawgmoth Deck) or grave hate. Dunno if Thoughtseize can do the job. -u need 4x Preordain (to safely keep some 1-lander or find threats). Has someone some maths for how often T1 Consider enables Oculus at which turn? It feels like not much better than with T1 Preordain. Thought Scour however feels much better to easy 3-drop on T3. -6black fetches is right, because u often fetch for swamp I think atm Murk only w/o oculus is the best choice because of consistency. The games you really dominate with the oculus have sunken costs 🙈 People also start to focus on 5 toughness removal and grave hate.
It is a problem for sure. Thankfully it's not popular enough at the moment to really board heavily for it. Just have to go in heavy on discarding to frog, bowmasters, and harbinger if you run in to it. Otherwise, the next step would be adding cards like Brazen Borrower or Into the Flood Maw.
nope its a meta call.. you want to play dimir despite boros is dominant in your local meta choose oculus... if dimir/combo/eldrazi makes the bigger chunk murktide is better
I run a pretty similar list to what’s shown here except I have the Harbingers in the sideboard and Tamiyos main. You lose a few opportunities to cheese games out, but I think the card advantage and threatening ultimate is worth it. I also don’t mind tamiyo being a lightning rod for removal. That’s removal not spent on frog or oculus.

Definitely agree on Preordain / Consider.
One big weakness of the deck is Leyline of the Void. Dealt with that at the last modern night at my lgs. Not sure how to deal with that yet

Given the recent bans, do you feel going down to 3x Unearth in an Oculus build would be acceptable?
